You are definitely onto something here. This pack sounds great through my PA along side my Mesa Traditional full stack. Like an extension of the amp in the room.

I've toyed with the idea but the tests that I've done have been very similar to an open back design where the low end really is not there. An optimized closed back design evens out that low end depth and with these traditional guitar speakers that seems to be a more neutral low end. Looking at that IR graph looks almost like I took a pen and made the perfect low end with no problems anywhere. Comparing that to not having a closed back design it becomes similar to miking up a cabinet from far out where that low end focus is really difficult to get.
@@mlsoundlab not an open baffle an infinite baffle. An infinte baffle is where you get no oposing freq. An example would be if you put a speaker in your wall and used another room as the enclosure. Ppl use them for home theater setups to get massive super clean bass
I like the fact that you don't mix anything, that makes me value your videos. I hope you do a "greatest hits (no pun intended)" drum kit where it comes set up how you would have it with the black beauty and the byzance cymbals and a compressor plugin with a preset for it. That would be insane for just dropping in and getting a great sound. (fingers crossed you can do that with your unreleased mastering plugin)

I'll chat to Mikko about it, I like the idea! As for the drag-and-drop nature, you should be able to set your plugin defaults in your DAW. I've got mine set up so that ML Drums loads up with my perfect hybrid kit and all my mixer settings ready to go - you can set this up with Mikko's perfect kit preset too. There's actually not that much processing on them. You can check the preset out yourself in a previous video where we make this preset used here. Just a good balance of everything and mostly quite normal compression.
with all due respect the example doesn't sound distinguishingly different from a normal IR. for now calling it a different IR format seems to be a bit of an exaggeration, if I'm being honest. great job nonetheless!
It's more about what it's being compared to. It is still a "normal IR" but if I pull up the same speaker in a different cab then it is very clear that it is a completely different sound. I'll try and make a video showing this and hopefully that's a better showcasing of what we're dealing with here. :)
Mikko i have a lot of respect for you, your company and your amazing plugins but this time I think you didn't reach the goal. Those IR's don't sound focused and in your face. Yes they seem to be record ready but they lack the rawness of a real cab. Please don't feel offended by my words. I like your products but I highly prefer the Mikko cab plugin.
Hey none taken. These IRs are meant to be different which is why I'm separating them from "normal IRs" with the Reflex name. These are ultra-modern IRs and I recommend starting from scratch when making guitar tones. Remember that f.ex. your favorite amp settings that were done on "normal IRs" are most likely compensating for things that you don't need to be doing with Reflex IRs. F.ex. now you can have a lot more low end from your amp before it becomes a problem. Also the mid range is extremely neutral which is something that our ears may not be accustomed to. I want to be very clear that we still love traditional guitar cabinets just as much.

Can you turn off the processing on the drums in the plugin? They are way too overprocessed for my taste/style.
There's actually not that much processing on them. You can check the preset out yourself in a previous video where we make this preset used here. Just a good balance of everything and mostly quite normal compression.
