- This type of obsidian is often called Bi-Flow, or Double Flow. I think I called it midnight lace in the video at some point haha. Whatever you choose to call it, it’s beautiful stuff.
Technique: Direct percussion with a copper bopper
Material: Double Flow Obsidian from Glass Buttes

Wow this is really really cool. 😎
Thank you!
Great videos bro 👍
Thanks, I appreciate you! ✌️
It looks like most of your obsidian is surface collected. Do you ever dig it up. To me the obsidian out of the ground usually has less flaws & is easier to knap. Maybe I wrong or maybe I just like digging in the dirt.
You’re correct, much of the surface material is banged up or freeze cracked. Everything I got from glass buttes was surface finds because I did a quick trip and didn’t have time to get in the dirt. I like knapping surface finds because if it breaks I can blame it on the material having flaws 😉
Were do you buy the copper boppers that you are using? Great video!
Thank you! It was a set of 5 from eBay but I can't remember which seller I bought from. They're lead-filled copper boppers.
