I remember seeing this and being real impressed with the whole song done on one shot. Full credit to the steadicam operator, director and Jarvis - great performance
Captured this moment in cultural time like Warhol did, VU, only not as static art, and it's beautiful. I love Pulp, and man, did they capture a moment in time like a snow globe.
You're right, MrPapuza. The line he says is 'you'll never fail like common people'. Thanks for pointing that out. Jarvis sings this song with such strength and power that it seems like he's talking about himself, but of course he's always talking in third person about the girl who came from Greece. Thank You for pointing that out again.
Sod Jarvis, ever see Russell with his shirt off? Raaaooooww! My favourite member was Mark, small but perfectly formed :D Man alive, he was an incredible guitarist (and keyboardist, least we forget). Woefully underated musician in my opinion and all but forgotten about in recent Britpop retrospectives, which is a somewhat unforgivable really.
Great song. I interpret the lyrics as him talking about hipsters (modern day hippies) running around this planet like they don't have money and all they have to do is make a quick phone call to dad who can stop it all, I know plenty of these people, hahaha.
I do not wish to troll, it's an amazing anthem and it ramps up well enough but I just wish there was that kind of BAM in your face moment like Ben Folds did with Shatner's version.
Fantastic performance. Was it filmed infront of an audience? because there doesn't seem to be much atmosphere. The best performance must be Glastonbury 1995.
Does anyone knows where I can find this live???I just saw the other names that played that night at BBC and it must have been one hell of a live! Please answer! :D
what is he doing with the mic?? and could i be reincarnated as that mic?? Pulp Forever! You will never understand how it feels to live your life with no meaning or colntrol...
It's amazing at 3:56 when the parting in his hair changes to the other side instantly!
This man has such a fantastic stage presence.
i never, ever tire of this song. it's just so well-written, and so danceable! and jarvis is easily one of the best frontmen of all time.
jarvis is wonderful!
hes a rock star who never looked like one.
Great lyrics, great song and great performance. Excellent.

I do not wish to troll, it's an amazing anthem and it ramps up well enough but I just wish there was that kind of BAM in your face moment like Ben Folds did with Shatner's version.
I am uncommon like you Jarvis!!
are you the girl from greece in the supermarket? Let´s all meet up somewhere outside leeds, sometime
It never says "I wanna fail like common people" in the whole song, actually.
Fantastic performance. Was it filmed infront of an audience? because there doesn't seem to be much atmosphere. The best performance must be Glastonbury 1995.
Definitely looks like a studio job, because the cameraman's constantly walking around between the band members ...
Personally I think the Reading 2011 performance was better th-cam.com/video/-XlCFJA3yL4/w-d-xo.html
