I have followed David's career taking off since 2008 and oh how he has changed and evolved for the better, as a person, as an artist. One thing that never changes with David is his kindness and thoughtfulness to others. He's truly the American Idol in the good sense of the word!
I was there during his first audition..I think we will all remember that. Been a fan since.
@@rein2430 I think those of us who are fans of him since the very beginning are likely to remain so for as long as we shall live :). David may not have the 'monetary' success like other artists, but he has had his integrity and dignity intact, and his values still very much in the right place. His recent coming out is testament again of his integrity and genuine desire to live an authentic life. Wish him happiness.

I really want David to make a comeback as a huge popstar. His vocals are Soo good and versatile. He is really underused.
He can easily outshine Charlie puth, Shawn Mendes with that brilliant voice. He can put so much of his personal experience into an album.
I still can't believe the person who started his career with such an amazing song "crush" is not a mainstream artist now.
He can literally take inspiration from Lil nas X who literally changed his artistry after coming out.

David tip-toed out of the closet with many timid caveats. I understand where he's coming from, having grown up in a similar background. I honestly don't think he will be artistically free and reach his greatest potential until he really embraces who he is wholeheartedly. I really do hope he gets there. He has been developing, but "timid" is perhaps the word I would use to describe his current work.

Like many others my family and I have been a fan since American Idol. As a proud grandmother of 2 whom are part of the LGBTQ community I am so proud that in your faith you choose to acknowledge who you are. My 16 yr old grandson asked me if the Catholic church would accept him I said..God accepts every one. He created us out of his likeness. Luke then said " does that make God gay?"
