What I don't understand is where are the Grammys, American Music Awards, Dove Awards. If you follow David's music, especially the stuff that he writes and sings. You can hear and feel the amazing evolution in the writing and performances. Just a brilliant singer who is doing his thing on his own label without all of the politics that come with a major record company. He can sing the alphabet or phone book and it would be a hit. The industry needs to start rewarding the singer-songwriters who stay true to who they are and still produce amazing music that appeals to the masses.

I personally think that the music industry wouldn’t let him maintain who he is and that’s why he does the independent thing. He doesn’t need a Grammy to share good music and make a decent living doing it.
The music industry is not about great or even good performers it is about money. The award system has never been about the best music it is about promotion and marketing. Great songs are ignored if the performer won't play the game and David Archuleta has made it clear he does not want to play the game. The whole industry has changed with the internet. No one needs to wait until their favorite artist latest song shows up on the radio any number of streaming services may have it or it might be on Utube. Artists make little or nothing on song sales, their money comes from live performances or private releases on their own labels. The days of mega stars who are actually worth listening to a giant arena are over. If you actually listen to those who are presently extremely popular you find that their music is nothing special, they are a product of marketing. Justin Bieber was a cute kid who had a nothing special voice, what he did have was a brilliant marketing team who knew how to play the game. If that team had gotten behind David Archuleta he would have been worth 100's of millions but instead he choice not to play that game. Money and mass fame is not everything, just be happy that David is still willing to play for us and share his talent. The music industry is really just the Big Lie.
This idea of yours is flawed. The facts are that this song, along with all of the other music David has released, isn't catchy, not mainstream enough to sell, and is frankly mediocre. It may be hard to hear, but it's a fact. This song is proof of that. It's just not good, nothing you would ever head anyone humming to, singing to themselves, etc. He needs to find a music producer and manager that can find him songs that are catchy and appeal to the masses. This song is boring. He can sing, he needs good material.

There are several huge pop stars out there who produce music I find banal and mediocre, but do I look for their videos and trash them in the comments? No. Music is a matter of personal taste and I hope you’ll consider putting more positivity into the world by commenting on the songs you do like. ✌🏼
