I am surprised that you don't have more subs. If we ignore the hat, you are a hidden jewel for photography. You give good common sense advise. I like it that most times you don't use equipment that costs more than a house. You come across like a neighbor that is helping all of us to be better photographers without showing off. Should I start looking for a house for you in Mid-Michigan? We need more neighbors like you. Be safe.
Old Farmer, thank you so much for your lovely comment. It is really motivating to read your words. You don't know how much I appreciate your support. Old Farmer, I spent some time very close to Michigan, in Chicago, while I was working for a communications company. I have been in Germany for almost 5 years now, and I should be there until at least 2028. After that, who knows... maybe the USA will be an alternative. I am more of a country person than a city person. A good part of my life was in the country. Old Farmer, thank you again so much for your support. I send you a big hug from Germany and I hope you have much success in everything. 🤗
Oh my, Mario. Another great video. Just last weekend I was taking pictures at my four-year-old grandson's birthday party in their apartment. So I had artificial light and it wasn't very bright. I was very worried about the high ISO. But thanks to this video I look at these noisy photos a bit differently. Mario, you are the best, my photography teacher. Best regards, Adam
My great great great friend Adam!!! I am always very happy to read your messages. I am sure that your grandson's birthday must have been beautiful, you are the grandfather that every grandson dreams of having, without a doubt. Adam, as you say, the noise in the photos must be accepted, it is the moment that matters, it is the moment that remains in the memory. My friend, I send you a big hug, everyone here at home also sends you many greetings. Adam, I hope you also have a beautiful weekend, here it is about to start to get very cold and the news is warning of a big storm for next week that will leave a lot of snow and cold. A hug, friend.🤗
Great video Mario, thanks. I often shoot in manual mode with auto-ISO set to max 12800 in poor or dim light. I find that for very noisy raw files, DXO is best at retaining details if set to zero sharpening, for lower noise in raws, Enhance in Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom I believe, I don't use Lightroom, does a great , subtle job and for any non raw format files, Topaz.
Hi musique, I usually also always use manual mode and automatic iso, except when I'm in a fixed position taking pictures, that's when I do the exposure and then I just dedicate myself to taking pictures. I use the same technique when I have to photograph sporting events. As for software, the truth is that I'm a bit lazy, that's why the simplicity of Topaz has helped me a lot. A hug and have a good weekend that's almost here!!
..another useful video that explains a lot!, and until recently I was afraid of the high ISO, which in many situations allows you to come back with photos at all ...thanks Mario !!! :)
Very informative video, thanks Mario. I usually use auto ISO, and I don't pay much attention to the ISO. When the photo has noise, I realize it's because of the high ISO. But as you say, it's better to have a noisy photo than no photo at all.
Hi Meka, regarding what you said, there are many people who don't know that in automatic modes the ISO varies to correct the exposure, if you don't set a limit it can destroy your photos. A hug and take care.
