Please madam stop distorting history, the Benins and Yorubas have no similarities, the only connections between the two tribes is Ododuwa/Ekalanderan who was a Benin Prince that was banished from Igodomigodo/Bini that later send his grandson Oranmiyan to establish the Benin second dynasty kingship.
Ogiemen was never an Oba, Ogiemen was ordinary a position holder of Benin throne before the arrival of Oranmiyan.
The last Ogiso was Owodo who was the father of Ododuwa/Ekalanderan.
If I may ask,why are Yorubas alway narrate Bini history without visiting Benin kingdom for accurate historical information.
Please Yoruba professor stop misleading people with your fake history of people you don't know.
    Enough is a Enough.

I would say they are historically related with some degree of cross assimilations. what the Benin man calls 'pataki' for instance coincides with what the yoruba call 'pataki'. In those days as today economy, survival and security require interdependence a lot of times and history should be understood with these perspectives in mind.

So the benin people have no one to choose from their land but rather decide to go and choose someone strange from another land to come and be their king. It makes no single sense. Benins and Yorubas are totally two different people, different resemblance, different languages, different names, different cultures, different traditions, traditional foods are different and different dressings. Both history are totally different. Nothing in common at all and there are no similarities among them. So where is the similarities coming from? Corrections: The benin ancestor didn't come from the sky with a chain, unlike the Yorubas who claimed that their ancestor came down from the sky with a chain, (myth story). Even a two year old child will not believe such story. The history of the benin people is the Bible. Please this argument has to completely stop.

Benin people said that they are not related to you people, so be it. Is not by false to be related to a tribe. I understand that the binis have a very unique and beautiful history, culture and tradition that some tribes want to part take, I understand that. But please let's stop arguing who came from who. If it was true that they were related, that was bygone. Let everyone live in peace.

@@zion-985 can you even hear yourself.. am an Edo man..what do you mean by "by force relationship".you said in your write up that bini ancestors did not come from the sky..that's why asked you about the ogisos..where did they come from...we ones existed as Idu people, from there we became Igodomigodo and from Igodomigodo we are no Edo the capital being Benin... the question you should ask yourself is that there is always a beginning...which kingdom is the first kingdom in this world and who is the first king in this world..if you have answer to that question then you will know who bini people really are...and remember oduduwa is not a yoruba man but where did he really came from.. The barn ish prince in benin kingdom went to ife and was later beg to come back to rule benin when things went sour...he was too old to come home , he sent his son to rule because kingship in benin is hereditary.

Not happy with this content, distortion of historical facts is a slap, of what significance was Ife at that time that could prompt the binis to ask for a savior from Ife, you never mentioned the exiled prince who went to Ife which of course later became that connection. Please correct the distorted facts in this episode.
