I love watching movies on the quest 3 and I've basically watched every video covering the topic, however I think your video is the best one at showing how it is for people not familiar with VR, I'll refer to this video next time someone asks about getting a quest for movies.
great video, since owning a quest i look forward to bedtime, using this thing laying down with all the floating screens is like living in a sci-fi film
Its an enjoyable experience. But it is required you get youself a third party headstrap to get the best comfort. If not, your just asking to hate the experience. I tried on Quest 3 and was great watching 3D and non 3D content. So much so that i took it to the next level with Vision Pro, absolutely amazing. If your in the position and circumstances, its worth giving it a shot at least at the entry level Quest 3S now.
Yes. Some have dedicated apps, but you can also view anything on the browser as well (what I personally used in the video to watch movies) to login to your favorite streaming service.
Are the movies in 4k? My quest 2 plays hd movies but seriously looks like it’s 720p( extremely pixilated)..I have fiber internet and a very strong wifi connection
At home I just have internet and pay for my apps like Netflix, Max, paramount +, Disney, Peacock etc Can i load these apps on Quest and watch them like i do on my smart TV? Thanks!
Yes, but it depends on the app, some may not be immediately available, but you can always load up the Browser and watch from there as well, which is what I was using in the video. There are many ways to view movies with the Quest across various apps.
I am able to get 1080p videos using the Browser watching Plex, so I'd imagine this is possible with Netflix as well, but I do not have a Netflix account so I cannot test it to confirm. Sorry I cannot answer more confidently, hopefully someone else can 😁
I had the most amazing experience. I was in a GIANT theater watching a movie on a HUGE screen with my friends. It was awesome! It was called *REALITY* and going to the movies and supporting our local theater. lol
Lol nice. Being in a real theater you have the luxury of surround sound as well, but not everyone lives close or even in the same country, so having a theater experience in VR and being able to share that experience with friends and family on the other side of the world is pretty amazing. Something you wouldn't be able to do otherwise.
@@ThisKory can you maybe showcase other apps like yt Netflix Disney+ prime twitch crunchyroll? Its okey in the browser too or other vr player i realy want to see how it is in vr and mixed reality because i mainly want the quest 3 first videos films streams etc and dont know if its worth it
Hi hope somebody can clearly answer me, is the movie experience of meta 3s and meta 3 exactly the same? I don't plan playing games on it. Just 100% movie watching. I know the meta 3 have higher resolution but I think movies are at max 1080p right so meta 3s should be the same movie experience with meta 3?
Quest3 better. And No it's not just 1080p. Don't listen to guy who made this video. He confused ppl but what he is saying is certain apps only allow 1080p. You are able to watch higher quality like even youtube has 8k VR180 videos now like SliceOfLifeVR
@davidjacobs4947 Yeah you're right I see how I could have confused some people. When I was talking about 1080p I was talking about how it *looks* like a 1080p video when factoring in the Quest 3 resolution, lenses magnifying it all, etc. I should have made it clear that you can watch 4K and even 8K content, although that content isn't fully realized in VR, as it is on a TV and doesn't quite relate in the same way. It looks great, but a 4K video in the Quest 3 doesn't look the same as on a 4K TV, and a 4K video on the Quest 3 looks closer to a 1080p video on a TV.
If I’m laying down with my partner, can they see what I see? How many other tasks can you augment with this comfortably? Which ones? When you step in a store with it on, does it direct you toward your shopping list?
No one will ever see what you see, that is a treasure only you can experience. I can play a game while watching a movie if I wanted to, which is probably enough for most with ADD. Hmm, that last question has me stumped, I'll have to get back to you 😂
@@ThisKory seems like it has a ton of potential regardless! I’m excited to try one out & maybe get a dev kit. You won't get anywhere close to the same resolution. Also really hard to hook up a good speaker system. But it offers an experience that is pretty different and cool. You can take it everywhere which is quite the amazing feature in itself.
More immersion because you will get like a true Imax size screen in your room like at least 300 inch screen, but the quality is not the same of course, is more like a projector type of quality , plus you can watch 3d movies
Not even able to watch one full movie without charging in the middle. Yeah great. And I seriously doubt you can watch 3D movies, but just regular 2D movies on your own. So happy to have bought a 4090 just to be downgraded by a vr crappy hardware that weight a ton on my neck
Ok if your Quest 3 is blurry when looking at anything you either need glasses or you have a defective unit. Things should not be blurry at all, and when watching any movies things should be as clear as looking at a monitor outside of VR.
Some ganes might be "blurry", but this is due to low resolution processing to save power, install QGO for games and it'll change your experience entirely with increased resolution, which makes games very clear and crispy. If you're having blurry images with the Quest UI and Browser watching movies or any videos, then your Quest 3 is defective, you need prescription glasses, or you're not wearing the headset properly and need to adjust where your eyes meet the lenses or adjust the IPD dial on the headset - it's that simple.
Yeah I agree. This video is primarily to demonstrate what you cannot do with a TV that's in a static position in your home, and for those who may not have the budget to get something similar. The Quest is capable of a lot more than just TV or movies, too. For people who can afford a dedicated home theater setup, that's great and it's the best option, but for those who cannot, a Quest is cheap in comparison, and most people will utilize their Quest for a lot more than just movies and shows. Basically, I think the Quest is awesome for kids, teens, or college students who have a tight living space and want to watch some movies or shows on occasion. You can watch movies in the Quest, but you cannot play VR games with a TV. If I had to choose between a TV and a Quest, I'm choosing the Quest every time.

I'm sorry. I will make an informational video at some point, but this video was never meant to act as a guide, how-to, or tutorial. I'd try adding those key terms to your search bar, but this video you clicked on does not seem to fit what you're searching for. This does not mean the video is terrible though (thanks for the feedback), perhaps you just feel that way because you did not click a video that you were actually looking for. Always read video titles and descriptions, if you read the title and description on this video you'd see it's not a guide, tutorial, or how-to video. Sorry 😬 To try and help anyway, it's simply a matter of downloading a video viewing app (there are MANY) like Netflix or Bigscreen, or you can simply use the Browser and punch in whatever website you desire.
