Very good video James but for anyone setting up a gardening company please get the right training and tickets for using this machinery and buy the right PPE for the job I see it to often the grass starts growing everyone goes out buys a cheap mower strimmer chain saw etc jumps on Facebook as a gardening company. starts a gardening company and hasn't got a clue how to use the machines and what PPE is. I see too many accidents or accidents waiting to happen where people haven't got a clue or think they can save time by cutting corners. We spend years and hundreds of pounds on training, tickets etc. To keep our staff safe and make sure they go home to there familys at the end of the day. Stay safe people.
I could not agree more Jacob. So many go out and buy a lawn mower and a wheelbarrow and then call themselves a landscaper. We don’t get involved in offering tickets ourselves, but do offer advice on training companies to use. Insurance is the other thing people always seem to “forget” about! I’ve always said that chainsaws should not be allowed to be purchased online or in DIY stores, they should only be able to be purchased from a trained dealer.
Great! I wish I had a dollar (pound for you 😎 ) every time I had to explain to clients and naysayers alike, the need to stick with authorised distributors and dealers for equipment needs. Many don't get that cheap and inexpensive are mutually exclusive.
The multi tools are excellent if you buy a decent one! I have two Husqvarna 535LK's and with an Oregan mulching blade, they will go through almost anything!
Spot on with everything you said apart from shredder I love our cobra 650 it's great value for money. I haven't tried the elliot shredders yet. We are mostly battery and we are waiting on our ego z6 turning up.
The ego range definitely would be the one for me but just going to wait another year and see reviews, the milwaukee mower interest me aswell , great video James and the team
Stihl Km131r 2 stroke great piece a kit for starting out especially for hedges and trees, I also have a weibang 21" stihl blower attachment pole pruner hedge trimmer interesting video James 👍
Good advice for sure. Trying to decide between a Pole Hedger or a Multi-Tool at the moment. Swaying towards the Multi-Tool, but not a fan of the weight. I would be tempted with a mid-price range, mid-weight range, but powerful enough Pole Hedger, capable of cutting up to an inch or thereabouts.
Thank you! I wouldn’t say the weight is noticeable when using it and you have the versatility of adding other attachments with a multi tool. Either will cut branches of an inch no issues.
Great video! We have similarities in our thinking. I'm over 19 years into a small garden maintenance job with a team of three in South West England. I have my 1st ride on mower quote to do ( my choice - did not want to get into huge areas at the start) So I'm looking for any tips or advice on how to quote with a rider on. Have done 1000s of small to large propelled mower machine jobs and wondered if I should just quote that way as in quote whatever it would take with the biggest mowers, but just use the ride on instead?
Awesome video ! Completely agree on the weibang petrol mower and Husqvarna hedge trimmer however I’d be inclined to sway towards the Husqvarna or echo multi tool ? And same again on the blowers the 525bx and pb2620 are both exceptional machines 😁. The cub cadet zero turns are exceptional machines ! Love the steered front wheel machines though being with all the hills in wales such as the xz3 or the tank sz6. Personally got a 555rxt and a fs490cem and can’t decide which I like more 😂. I’m really liking the look of the eliet vector 4s with hydro drive and feed rollers 😍
I think for new start up go for good second hand ones not battery though as they will be Probably dead and if the business picks up than you can make some more serious investments
Great vid! Do y’all think ego is going to give up on there commercial lineup because their residential stuff seems pretty commercial and a lot of businesses buy the residential equipment?
If you are full time commercial with staff for example we would recommend the commercial range as they are much tougher! The ones we have recommended are mainly for people starting out as a one man band.
I have a garden maintenance company here in nz and want to get into adding a ride on mower .. my biggest question is how to charge for an hourly rate..? Should it be more than my regular garden maintenance rate? Any ideas cheers from waikato newzealand
Iam khalil doing Gardening in UAE trying to move UK I have some questions, How can I settle there in Garden business? Which area is best for gardening?
True that a multitool won’t last as long, but when starting out it’s a good way to get the machines you need in a cost effective way. As they die, they can be replaced gradually.
Bought a parker brand multi tool..absolutely awful brand new...4 of us couldn't start it...wanted me to constantly try this or try that...I told them it just doesn't work...poor service

Nice run down on the range of equipment James 👍
Thank you Claus 😎
Great overview and recommendations for the topic. I like the idea of considering the residual value of the tools.
Thank you Landon. It’s defo a huge factor when purchasing machinery 👍🏼
Nice One James Thanks again
Thank you Darren 🤩
Great overview James between both battery and and petrol tools... But don't forget about the hand tools, wolf garten set is always in my van
Yes hand tools are very important, Bulldog for the heavy stuff, Wolf for the light stuff and Felco’s for pruning 😎
The ego range definitely would be the one for me but just going to wait another year and see reviews, the milwaukee mower interest me aswell , great video James and the team
Thank you Mark. We will have a video of the Milwaukee mower soon!
This would make my Sundays less brutal!

Nice video James, I bet you can't wait til Milwaukee makes a mower. 🤣👍
Give me a couple weeks John and I may have something to show you 😉
Anxiously standing by James 🤣

Your first five essentials is virtually the set up I run. It's having two of everything for breakdowns is when it becomes expensive.
That awesome. 100% If a machine is that important, have two! But yes double the money 🤩
I’d love to visit your store, M18 all the way😃
You’re welcome anytime 👍🏼

As a kid I use to cut the rugby pic Molton on a old wheels horse
South Molton pitch? We done another video where we cut that pitch.
Yes down by the recycle centre if it still there when I have spear half day going to drive up to shop néed a new saw
What would you recommend as far as battery powered dedicated polesaw?
The EGO PPCX is a well made piece of kit 👍🏼

What do you think about Echo for a new bussines? It is a little cheaper than Stihl and husky, dont know about reliability.
Echo have some good products it’s what suits you and you business 👍🏼

I’m sthil all the way
Blower is pretty much the only tool I prefer petrol. Battery blowers drain batteries too fast
Iam khalil doing Gardening in UAE trying to move UK I have some questions,
How can I settle there in Garden business? Which area is best for gardening?
The desert is a good start as the best area...
Stihl is the best
No to multi tools the shafts go and the plastics break. Battery blower don't last longer enough for me
