Hello thank you for this realistic day in the life. Do you know anything about banyeo-dong area in haeundae? I received an interview for a kindy hagwon job, but I’m unsure if I should accept. Thanks in advance
Did you get to choose where you were placed? And did you also get to choose the age you were working with? I'm very interested in teaching at a hagwon :)
@@Sunaynay what agent/company is this through? I'm planning to apply to the EPIK programme but would love to know other ways I can teach english in korea!
I'm moving to Daegu in January to teach in igarten chungdahm which I believe is a hagwon? I've seen so many horror stories that honestly I'm extremely scared to now move and I'm debating if I want to go. Is there any advice you can offer regarding this? Do we have to work more than contracted hours or Saturdays... I've seen we don't get national holidays off?
You mean you don't get national holidays off as per your contract? 😦 Or you're just wondering what is standard? National holidays that everyone else in Korea gets off are bare minimum (I don't even know if it would be legal to not get them off...?) and honestly you should also get ~10 days payed vacation too. That's what I have. Also, are you unsure if you work Saturdays? Was that not discussed during the hiring process? Sorry for all the Qs 😅I'm just worried for you because I was in you position less than a year ago haha
When I applied with Aclipse and found out they only work with three schools called I-garten, April institute and Chungdamm, I was like NOPE after reading other people's experience. Imagine not getting days off on a holiday after being burnt out, not to mention the hard training and how you fail the training you go back home and they don't reimburse the money for the flight. That's tough honestly.😢😢
You should not be wearing a mask when teaching the kids because they cannot see your mouth move and it muffles your voice which makes it harder to understand the pronunciation of words.
It's nice to see a positive video. I have seen so many "hagwon horror" stories
Glad you enjoyed it!
Every job has its pros and cons! But I choose to be thankful and see the bright side🥹
You are awesome! Your teaching style is so fun!
Ahww thanks so much for the compliment!!
Wow! This is great! Thank you for uploading 😊
Thank you! Only a pleasure!
🙏🏼
great video! you seem like such a fun teacher for the kids. i’m moving to korea next week to work in a hagwon too :)
Amazing! Thank you so much! DM me on Insta then we can maybe meet up. I'm more than happy to help if you have questions. Or maybe just hang out?
That’s great! i hope you love it!

I would have went home crying after that “do you have to sleep alone” lol 😅
I almost did🤣🤣🤣
wow they have school for so long
I know its insane😴
I think it depends on the school.
Great video! Did you have to make the curriculum?

I worked through an agent so I requested the age groups I would want to work with. I had a few interviews, and thereafter decided on the school.

You are the 1 teacher in the class
I have a Korean teacher in my kindergarten classes, but with my older kids I’m alone. I do have Korean mentors who communicate with the parents.
Yaaaas!
How did you find your hagwon?

Which city are you working at ? Are you in Seoul or somewhere else ?
I’m just south of Seoul in Anyang

Do teachers still have to wear masks these days while teaching?
All the time :( But honestly some days I prefer it when all the kids get sick🤧😅
You so beautiful
