They just updated the video of the national athem and add a clip of bts in it. As for military, their is a rule that in Korea that all men should have a military service for 2 years. Their is some exemptions for some but it is very hard to have one because of all the criteria. But some politicians want to make some new rules about it to adapt to the changing worlds. Like in Cultural and Performance they have a rule that if a contestants win in prestigious contest like in piano or something classical music they can be military exempted. But it is such a small clause so they want to change the laws/rules about it. But BTS already said that they will still go in military.
In korea if u turn 30 years old u MUST enter the military and do your service their for two years :) So some fans said that bts might lose hype if they were on hiatus for two years.
BTS was included in the Official National Anthem VIDEO, the anthem wasn’t changed, just the video. 😂 & every Korean male is required to enlist for two years, Jin & Yoongi will probably enlist first since they’re the oldest.

Not necessarily all ARMYs but a good portion of us do support them. In my case they've a solid debut but that doesn't mean I'm going to stan them(become my favs) anytime soon.

About the military situation, it would be best for that to be explained by a korean fan because it’s a really serious thing that we should be careful about spreading misinformation. Korea has a mandatory military enlistment, every male has to go when they reach a certain age. All I can say is that for a while, the government had been reportedly debating about changing the amount of time you have to serve in the military. Some government officials wanted to make the time shorter and used bts as an example of somebody they would allow to serve a shorter time because of how much impact bts has had and how beneficial they are to Korea. Basically the idea was that somebody important like bts would do more good staying outside of the military and continuing their career because of how much good that does rather than going in for a few years and then picking their career back up later. Since this was becoming such a big thing, bts had to come out and clarify that they never were a part of that conversation, that they were just brought up as a topic in the conversation and that they would definitely serve their military time. From what I can gather, serving is a real honor and many people thought it would be unfair for bts to get a shorter time. And bts wouldn’t have taken the shorter time anyway. If you want to know more, like I said please listen to a korean fan about it because this is all I know and I want to clarify that I might not be right 😅

@@MexineseFamily I also heard (from Korean youtubers) that the Olympics or International Competition athletes that get medals are exempted from the military service for representing Korea and spreading the Korean Culture, a South Korean Politician called for military draft exemption for BTS as they got N.1 in Billboard worldwide Album Chart and that could be seen as a Gold Medal in an International Competition, but yeah the military service over there is something to be proud of as they get ready to protect their country anytime, there was a new rule saying that no idols would be exempt or given special treatment and all Korean men must enlist at 27 years old (Korean age) or before that and do 21 months of service, btw Jin and Suga might enlist next year many of us thought that 2019 will be their year, I'm just glad they are by our side this year, I'll be sad when that happens but I'll keep supporting all the other members in their individual activities as always ^.^ OT7 forever
Exemption is not shortened time, but it means to be completely out of the military service. The debate was is that why Olympic winners or acknowledged classical musicians and dancers CAN get exemption (you can be granted but doesn’t mean you will accept it) but pop-stars or actors (people of K-wave basically) who actually promote Korea even MORE do not have that treatment. And he brought up BTS as an example of their global success and how they promote Korea... and how much money they bring to Korea 👀 Those politicians had to quickly apologize officially to ARMYs (not even BTS 😂) for creating a rumor that BTS were granted an exemption.
TxT (Tomorrow by Together) is a new group from BigHit Entertaintment. They are very young (Ages: 16-19) so they're called BTSs' brothers. They just debuted with the song "Crown" on 4th of March this year. You can also react to their music, it's different than BTSs' concept. Has anyonen seen the profit of YG last year? Revenue was indeed good (250+ mil dollar) but the Net profit was only about 15M, whike BH soaring like a freaking Eagle having sa net profit bigger than the Big3. I scrolled to see if it was explained in detail about military enlistment. Some comments already explained that in SK all men HAVE to serve minimum 2 years. What all the "stink" was about was due to one or two politicians wanting to discuss trying to change policy for military exemption to include KPOP idols and actors. There is a policy already in place for Olympic athletes, Korean soccer players, etc. There is also an exemption for those that excel or represent Korea on a global scale in Fine Arts like symphony members, violinists, opera singers, etc that compete on the global stage representing their country. Based on everything that BTS has accomplished on the global stage (more than any other KPOP group in history), a politician was questioning shouldn't the current policy be changed to include KPop , KDRAMA under certain conditions. It was not well received by many other fandoms and some of the gp. Rumors by haters started that BigHit was "paying" this politician to get BTS out of military service. Thus the guys came out and said they would be enlisting no matter what. Hope this helps.

My brother spent 1 hour, yes 1 hour, trying to get a ticket for Brazil... he even was ready since 9:30am, sale started at 10am... he sent me a msg telling me at 11am or so he got a ticket. He was mad because every time he thought he got 1, the web asked him to try again lmao. He tried for the 2nd one and he didnt make it. But at least now he will not look at me as crazy when I tell him he needs to be ready at least 30min before for everything related to BTS. xD Anyways I am traveling to Brazil to attend the concert lol
Sometimes I wish that the Singapore concert ticket sales are like this. They gave us a queueing number and only let a number of people into the site every minute or something. I had to queue for 2 hours 30 minutes before I got my ticket. I heard that the sales went on for at least 5 hours 😂
Yes. The official video for the national anthem was recently changed to include clips of bts in it as well because of how much pride a lot of people in Korea seem to have in them. I can see why because bts always promotes Korea like its their job no matter where they go. They refuse to sing songs in english, wear clothes made by korean designers at American award shows, use specific korean words and metaphors in some of their songs that have to be thoroughly explained for foreigners to understand and other things that must really make a lot of korean citizens proud. And koreas economy has been helped by bts too with how many people that want to go and experience Korea because bts introduced them to the culture (not saying that bts is the only way to find out about korean culture but it was for a lot of fans) and how many products bts endorse and have made that have been purchased by people from all over the world.
But it depends though like if you're a representative for a sports then they will excempt you or if you have a disease or disabled they will excempt you... Bts did considered to be excempted to enlist by the government but bts did not accept it and they'll still be going to military. But im sure armys will wait no matter what

BTS was here in Ft. Worth last September and it was great but we had the smallest venue. I was lucky enough to go and we were hoping to have them again in Texas in either the AT&T stadium or Huston but I guess we’ll have to wait for another time. Lucky enough I was able to score a floor seat for Chicago even if it was a bit more due to resell. No matter what even if you’re further up I know you’ll have a good time especially since it will be new music and performances. ☺️💜

With the National Anthem, you know that automatic stinger that plays when channels sign off while the anthem is playing? The pictures of things that represent the country that shows up while the signoff anthem plays, well a performance of BTS shows up in that. All males over the age of 28 potentially have to service in the military. Of course there are exceptions for some who don't have to serve but all males have to enter at the age of 28. The controversy that BTS was involved in was because a SK politician used them as an example of maybe they should look into extending exemptions for other artists (as of right now classical Korean artists are exempted from service) that promote Korean culture and language worldwide. He used what BTS was doing as an example of someone that should be eligible for an exemption because of how they represent Korea to the world at large.
@@MexineseFamily Just to add, the exemption stems from the argument that the protocols for military enlistment was outdated. In one of their examples, a national team (like football) and various classical artists will be exempted from military if they bring a medal home but what about new competitions that has arisen like gaming, b-boying, or in this case, topping international charts like Billboard? Talking in UN? Featured in Time? This all brought pride to Korea many times which was the basis of the current military exemptions so why not update to include these new avenues as well? That's why the politician felt there's a need to start expanding this list. I also feel that this can be connected to how a KPOP boy group's lifespan ends abruptly as members needs to start enlisting one by one due to the whole South Korea - North Korea situation. Right now, BTS is bringing a SH*T TON OF MONEY back to Korea. They were even listed as one of the driving force of Korea's economy bringing in $3.6 Billion a year. If BTS halts their activities due to this, Korea will lose a major economic asset. Pretty sure this is also a major consideration in exempting them, because frankly, why not?

I can tell you react genuinely and not just to get clout and views which most youtubers do nowadays. If i can suggest, i really would like you guys to do reactions to the lyrics of their songs- dive deep into them. Still one f my favourite Karma moments was when Haters tried to get annoyed at BTS performing at Wembley Arena, as there would be a stage on the grass where football is played and how fans would mess us the grass and it would ruin the arena. Wembley then came out with a statement saying that they've had MANY artist play there before, including Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, and Ed Sheeran, and they will do for BTS concert what they do for those and have a protective covering over the grass area as they are not idiots. It just really made me laugh that haters were trying to find something to hate on, didn't do research and got slammed by the arena. XD

If you saw some tickets still there,grab it even though it’s not a good seat. They usually will include you if your seats so far away. The experience is something. They will be on tour from May until July and then maybe focusing at Asian part later. They got restricted travel now because two of the members will enlist in the military in 2020 or 2021. If anyone saw the tickets available,grab it.
Almost every people in korea are so proud of BTS, only except some other band's fan. Nowadays, Western media doesn't deserve them fairly because of racism. They are even so rude. In Austrian tv show, one host said that BTS looks like a male prostitute. A recent germany tv show says that only under 12- years-old like BTS. What? I'm older than 40. I want to ask them. Have u ever watched their stage at once? Seriously you will see what set BTS apart from other bands in the world now. Male citizens of South Korea have to serve compulsory military service for 2 years between the ages of 18 and 30, I think So each member has to serve 2 years in the South Korean military before they turn 30 or 31, Jin is up for enlistment first and will probably enlist next year
Unfortunatly BTS dont have that many years, some will have to do their national service soon, I hope they all go together when they do and come out together. We will be waiting for them.
You should ABSOLUTELY go to the concert! I sat in the 5th floor back row for their Citi Field Stadium concert in NY and it was STILL the best experience ever! It not just about BTS tbh. The ARMY crowd makes the concert feel like something new and special! Never felt anything like that before! Also I will say I don’t recall any official statements from BTS saying they will 100% go into the military. The issue was cleared up but I don’t think that piece is accurate.

We do not know when they are going to perform again in US as a whole group coz time is ticking for jin and suga to enlist in the military, it will be followed by other members every year..so there 2019 might be the best time to see them. You should watch a bts concert there in US! I recently watched their Hongkong leg of the tour, and I travelled from the Philippines to HK just to watch! All the ticketing stress, the hotels and flights booked are all worth it for that 1 day concert! I'll never forget that ever! And I hope you can experience it too. ♡

I’m a multi fandom, meaning i stan more than 1 kpop groups like Blackpink, Red Velvet and many others. And i love them all. Because they are all talented. Most of the hate comments comes from immature fans and obsessive fans. But there are a lot more mature. I just hope to clear your pre-judgments. You can react to them. You can see why they have fans as well. And the most important thing is, those groups that were being compared are FRIENDS. At a certain age men have to enlist in the military, that’s the reason some groups add more people or don’t do as much when one or two are gone. The first one will be Jin, I don’t really like to talk about it because we’re going to miss him so much. But I know BTS will continue to keep working like they always do and Jin will also when he comes back. There are people who say BTS should be exempt because they have done so much for the SK economy and while a lot of agree, BTS themselves don’t want any special treatment and will all go when it’s their time 😭 & ARMYs will always be here for them.

Oh also BTS had a few shows last fall in Fort Worth. Too bad you didn't find out about them before then! But if you guys can seriously manage to go to a concert, you totally should! They are nowhere near me and I can't afford hotel and transportation costs on top of a ticket, even if I were to somehow manage to get a ticket. 😢 Someday I will get to see them live! If you read the tweet/ comment it shows that they were added to the National Anthem music video, so no, they didn't change the actual anthem just for BTS. Also all men in South Korea need to enlist before the age of 30 for mandatory enlistment. I don't know how long they have to serve anymore exactly. Around 18 months I think. Sometime last year they changed the mandatory length the men have to stay in, so it is gradually going down. So someone who enlisted in January of this year will be serving longer than someone who enlists in October of this year. It is something other kpop groups have gone through. Big Bang is a 2nd generation Kpop group (BTS is 3rd gen) and they are considered the KINGS of Kpop and are HUGE in South Korea. They have also inspired many of the current kpop acts (including BTS). A few of their members are currently enlisted, including their VERY popular leader G-Dragon. So even the Kings of Kpop didn't get exemption which is probably why people got SO salty over the mere whiff that BTS might try get out of it (rumors to begin with). So the question a lot of ARMY has been avoiding is how will BTS deal with it? Will some of the members enlist and the remaining members put out music together? Or will they focus on some solo stuff? Also the major songwriting/producing members are RM, Suga and J-Hope, all part of the hyung (older) line. If we lose all of them to enlistment at the same time...what will happen? Some of the younger members have proven their skills, but they don't have as much experience yet. So I will be interested to see if they step up their roles more in the next few albums in preparation. Jin is getting closer to the age so we will find out sooner than any of us want. But that's enough of that horrible talk. Hopefully that clears up some stuff.

They just updated the video of the national athem and add a clip of bts in it. As for military, their is a rule that in Korea that all men should have a military service for 2 years. Their is some exemptions for some but it is very hard to have one because of all the criteria. But some politicians want to make some new rules about it to adapt to the changing worlds. Like in Cultural and Performance they have a rule that if a contestants win in prestigious contest like in piano or something classical music they can be military exempted. But it is such a small clause so they want to change the laws/rules about it. But BTS already said that they will still go in military.

About the military situation, it would be best for that to be explained by a korean fan because it’s a really serious thing that we should be careful about spreading misinformation. Korea has a mandatory military enlistment, every male has to go when they reach a certain age. All I can say is that for a while, the government had been reportedly debating about changing the amount of time you have to serve in the military. Some government officials wanted to make the time shorter and used bts as an example of somebody they would allow to serve a shorter time because of how much impact bts has had and how beneficial they are to Korea. Basically the idea was that somebody important like bts would do more good staying outside of the military and continuing their career because of how much good that does rather than going in for a few years and then picking their career back up later. Since this was becoming such a big thing, bts had to come out and clarify that they never were a part of that conversation, that they were just brought up as a topic in the conversation and that they would definitely serve their military time. From what I can gather, serving is a real honor and many people thought it would be unfair for bts to get a shorter time. And bts wouldn’t have taken the shorter time anyway. If you want to know more, like I said please listen to a korean fan about it because this is all I know and I want to clarify that I might not be right 😅

@@MexineseFamily I also heard (from Korean youtubers) that the Olympics or International Competition athletes that get medals are exempted from the military service for representing Korea and spreading the Korean Culture, a South Korean Politician called for military draft exemption for BTS as they got N.1 in Billboard worldwide Album Chart and that could be seen as a Gold Medal in an International Competition, but yeah the military service over there is something to be proud of as they get ready to protect their country anytime, there was a new rule saying that no idols would be exempt or given special treatment and all Korean men must enlist at 27 years old (Korean age) or before that and do 21 months of service, btw Jin and Suga might enlist next year many of us thought that 2019 will be their year, I'm just glad they are by our side this year, I'll be sad when that happens but I'll keep supporting all the other members in their individual activities as always ^.^ OT7 forever
Exemption is not shortened time, but it means to be completely out of the military service.
The debate was is that why Olympic winners or acknowledged classical musicians and dancers CAN get exemption (you can be granted but doesn’t mean you will accept it) but pop-stars or actors (people of K-wave basically) who actually promote Korea even MORE do not have that treatment. And he brought up BTS as an example of their global success and how they promote Korea... and how much money they bring to Korea 👀
Those politicians had to quickly apologize officially to ARMYs (not even BTS 😂) for creating a rumor that BTS were granted an exemption.

TxT (Tomorrow by Together) is a new group from BigHit Entertaintment. They are very young (Ages: 16-19) so they're called BTSs' brothers. They just debuted with the song "Crown" on 4th of March this year. You can also react to their music, it's different than BTSs' concept. Haters are hating them but they got more love than hate from the ARMY 😀

After all, in bighit there are only BTS, TXT and solo artist lee hyun. BTS must be so relieved as finally they could lift up a bit burden as previously(maybe until now) it seek that they are the one hard carry the company. Fyi, by just having BTS, bighit managed to gain revenue about 200mil usd last year. Compared to other big3 that have tons of artists they got like 500mil-600mil usd. "I feel like they enjoy hating on BTS more than they enjoy liking their kpop group that they support" if this isn't the Truth. Kpop stans regularly get around 30k likes and retweets from hating on BTS and ARMY. Meanwhile, it's a miracle if these same people get 3 likes while praising their faves.
I scrolled to see if it was explained in detail about military enlistment. Some comments already explained that in SK all men HAVE to serve minimum 2 years. What all the "stink" was about was due to one or two politicians wanting to discuss trying to change policy for military exemption to include KPOP idols and actors. There is a policy already in place for Olympic athletes, Korean soccer players, etc. There is also an exemption for those that excel or represent Korea on a global scale in Fine Arts like symphony members, violinists, opera singers, etc that compete on the global stage representing their country. Based on everything that BTS has accomplished on the global stage (more than any other KPOP group in history), a politician was questioning shouldn't the current policy be changed to include KPop , KDRAMA under certain conditions. It was not well received by many other fandoms and some of the gp. Rumors by haters started that BigHit was "paying" this politician to get BTS out of military service. Thus the guys came out and said they would be enlisting no matter what. Hope this helps.

My brother spent 1 hour, yes 1 hour, trying to get a ticket for Brazil... he even was ready since 9:30am, sale started at 10am... he sent me a msg telling me at 11am or so he got a ticket. He was mad because every time he thought he got 1, the web asked him to try again lmao. He tried for the 2nd one and he didnt make it.
But at least now he will not look at me as crazy when I tell him he needs to be ready at least 30min before for everything related to BTS. xD

Sometimes I wish that the Singapore concert ticket sales are like this. They gave us a queueing number and only let a number of people into the site every minute or something. I had to queue for 2 hours 30 minutes before I got my ticket. I heard that the sales went on for at least 5 hours 😂
Yes. The official video for the national anthem was recently changed to include clips of bts in it as well because of how much pride a lot of people in Korea seem to have in them. I can see why because bts always promotes Korea like its their job no matter where they go. They refuse to sing songs in english, wear clothes made by korean designers at American award shows, use specific korean words and metaphors in some of their songs that have to be thoroughly explained for foreigners to understand and other things that must really make a lot of korean citizens proud. And koreas economy has been helped by bts too with how many people that want to go and experience Korea because bts introduced them to the culture (not saying that bts is the only way to find out about korean culture but it was for a lot of fans) and how many products bts endorse and have made that have been purchased by people from all over the world.
In South Korea it’s said that every male no matter if they are famous or not will have to enlist for the military for 2 years

BTS was here in Ft. Worth last September and it was great but we had the smallest venue. I was lucky enough to go and we were hoping to have them again in Texas in either the AT&T stadium or Huston but I guess we’ll have to wait for another time. Lucky enough I was able to score a floor seat for Chicago even if it was a bit more due to resell. No matter what even if you’re further up I know you’ll have a good time especially since it will be new music and performances. ☺️💜

With the National Anthem, you know that automatic stinger that plays when channels sign off while the anthem is playing? The pictures of things that represent the country that shows up while the signoff anthem plays, well a performance of BTS shows up in that. All males over the age of 28 potentially have to service in the military. Of course there are exceptions for some who don't have to serve but all males have to enter at the age of 28. The controversy that BTS was involved in was because a SK politician used them as an example of maybe they should look into extending exemptions for other artists (as of right now classical Korean artists are exempted from service) that promote Korean culture and language worldwide. He used what BTS was doing as an example of someone that should be eligible for an exemption because of how they represent Korea to the world at large.

@@MexineseFamily Just to add, the exemption stems from the argument that the protocols for military enlistment was outdated. In one of their examples, a national team (like football) and various classical artists will be exempted from military if they bring a medal home but what about new competitions that has arisen like gaming, b-boying, or in this case, topping international charts like Billboard? Talking in UN? Featured in Time? This all brought pride to Korea many times which was the basis of the current military exemptions so why not update to include these new avenues as well? That's why the politician felt there's a need to start expanding this list.
I also feel that this can be connected to how a KPOP boy group's lifespan ends abruptly as members needs to start enlisting one by one due to the whole South Korea - North Korea situation. Right now, BTS is bringing a SH*T TON OF MONEY back to Korea. They were even listed as one of the driving force of Korea's economy bringing in $3.6 Billion a year. If BTS halts their activities due to this, Korea will lose a major economic asset. Pretty sure this is also a major consideration in exempting them, because frankly, why not?

Also, you're exactly right, the war among fans have nothing to do with the actual groups bc they are FRIENDS and BTS have taught us to respect all in their craft and dreams. To never look down on others no matter the circumstances. It would be hypocritical to claim ARMY when not following our artists example of humility, honesty, respectability, lovability, selflessness, and kindness. It's hard but nothing good ever comes easy. There are bad apples in our fandom and there are good ppl in other's and most of us stay out of fanwars and believe we shouldn't give the haters the recognition. Still one f my favourite Karma moments was when Haters tried to get annoyed at BTS performing at Wembley Arena, as there would be a stage on the grass where football is played and how fans would mess us the grass and it would ruin the arena. Wembley then came out with a statement saying that they've had MANY artist play there before, including Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, and Ed Sheeran, and they will do for BTS concert what they do for those and have a protective covering over the grass area as they are not idiots.
It just really made me laugh that haters were trying to find something to hate on, didn't do research and got slammed by the arena. XD
BTS is included in the music video of the national anthem😊 and we are so proud like they're the only celebrity to be with it. And about the military enlistment, it is a very sensitive issue for koreans, as far as i know bts were used as a subject for a dabate for the exemption of the someone who has done something in their country, as far as i know, musicians aren't included in the excemption but since bts continue to spread korean culture around the world, politicians uses them as a subject to discuss it and armys were not happy in this because the boys get dragged for the things that they didn't did and say. If you saw some tickets still there,grab it even though it’s not a good seat. They usually will include you if your seats so far away. The experience is something. They will be on tour from May until July and then maybe focusing at Asian part later. They got restricted travel now because two of the members will enlist in the military in 2020 or 2021. If anyone saw the tickets available,grab it.

You should ABSOLUTELY go to the concert! I sat in the 5th floor back row for their Citi Field Stadium concert in NY and it was STILL the best experience ever! It not just about BTS tbh. The ARMY crowd makes the concert feel like something new and special! Never felt anything like that before!
Also I will say I don’t recall any official statements from BTS saying they will 100% go into the military. The issue was cleared up but I don’t think that piece is accurate.

BTS and TXT js supporting eachother. TxT got so many guide from BTS and recently, BTS DO NOT LET TXT GO DOWN THE STAGE (when they perform boy with love because they won in that show) EVERY TIME THEY HAD A PERFORMANCE IN THE M COUNTDOWN, THEY EVEN GIVE THEIR MICS TO TXT AND LET THEM DANCE THEIR SONG I LOVE BIGHIT'S BABIES SO MUCH💖
I think you should go to one of their concerts. We do not know when they are going to perform again in US as a whole group coz time is ticking for jin and suga to enlist in the military, it will be followed by other members every year..so there 2019 might be the best time to see them. I do not want to touch on this issue actually because it makes me sad but i just do not want you to miss out on this opportunity coz god knows i will do everything if they come here to the Philippines. 💜💜💜

You should watch a bts concert there in US! I recently watched their Hongkong leg of the tour, and I travelled from the Philippines to HK just to watch! All the ticketing stress, the hotels and flights booked are all worth it for that 1 day concert! I'll never forget that ever! And I hope you can experience it too. ♡

i just hope you don’t believe in those people throwing hate for each other or i mean other fandom. I’m a multi fandom, meaning i stan more than 1 kpop groups like Blackpink, Red Velvet and many others. And i love them all. Because they are all talented. Most of the hate comments comes from immature fans and obsessive fans. But there are a lot more mature. I just hope to clear your pre-judgments. You can react to them. You can see why they have fans as well. And the most important thing is, those groups that were being compared are FRIENDS. They have a lot of interaction that you can see they genuinely are fond and friends with each other. I just want to stop the hate. What we can do is, just report those hate comments. At a certain age men have to enlist in the military, that’s the reason some groups add more people or don’t do as much when one or two are gone. The first one will be Jin, I don’t really like to talk about it because we’re going to miss him so much. But I know BTS will continue to keep working like they always do and Jin will also when he comes back. There are people who say BTS should be exempt because they have done so much for the SK economy and while a lot of agree, BTS themselves don’t want any special treatment and will all go when it’s their time 😭 & ARMYs will always be here for them.

Oh also BTS had a few shows last fall in Fort Worth. Too bad you didn't find out about them before then! But if you guys can seriously manage to go to a concert, you totally should! They are nowhere near me and I can't afford hotel and transportation costs on top of a ticket, even if I were to somehow manage to get a ticket. 😢 Someday I will get to see them live! I hear they are somehow even better LIVE.

If you read the tweet/ comment it shows that they were added to the National Anthem music video, so no, they didn't change the actual anthem just for BTS. Also all men in South Korea need to enlist before the age of 30 for mandatory enlistment. I don't know how long they have to serve anymore exactly. Around 18 months I think. Sometime last year they changed the mandatory length the men have to stay in, so it is gradually going down. So someone who enlisted in January of this year will be serving longer than someone who enlists in October of this year. It is something other kpop groups have gone through. Big Bang is a 2nd generation Kpop group (BTS is 3rd gen) and they are considered the KINGS of Kpop and are HUGE in South Korea. They have also inspired many of the current kpop acts (including BTS). A few of their members are currently enlisted, including their VERY popular leader G-Dragon. So even the Kings of Kpop didn't get exemption which is probably why people got SO salty over the mere whiff that BTS might try get out of it (rumors to begin with). So the question a lot of ARMY has been avoiding is how will BTS deal with it? Will some of the members enlist and the remaining members put out music together? Or will they focus on some solo stuff? Also the major songwriting/producing members are RM, Suga and J-Hope, all part of the hyung (older) line. If we lose all of them to enlistment at the same time...what will happen? Some of the younger members have proven their skills, but they don't have as much experience yet. So I will be interested to see if they step up their roles more in the next few albums in preparation. Jin is getting closer to the age so we will find out sooner than any of us want. But that's enough of that horrible talk. Hopefully that clears up some stuff.
