    The problem with this test is that as long as ice remains in the mug, the water temp will remain at 32. So all the tumblers will be equal as long as there is any amount of ice. Try a test where you take chilled water from the fridge, NO ICE, and check every hour to see the temp difference. That would give you a better idea of which tumbler is better.

    Went to my Wal-Mart the other day (March 2023) and the Ozark Trail tumblers now come with a copy of the mag slider lid. Still $9.

    I've had my Yeti sitting in my car in Arizona in open parking lots on 110+ degree days during shopping trips. Still cold at the end of the day. Maybe the others are just as good, but having cold water after six hours in a hot car IS real world.

  • @cfrost87
    @cfrost87 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    In real world experience, I've had my yeti tumblers keep hot for a few hours, and keep ice all day. Most people are going to drink whatever is in their cup before the ice melts or coffee gets cold, anyway.
    The bottles keep ice way longer. I've had ice keep in one of my bottles for a couple of days.

    YETI, because of the options, handle, straw lid, replacements.., and the lid is less likely to break on the YETI than all those others, and easier to remove and clean without breaking, also that YETI is better than the new handle ones because it doesn't drink in one direction like the new screw on ones with handles that will wear out the seal in that one spot over time.

    The first practical test. Agreed not using my tumbler to store ice but also while on the road, opening up another can of soda, nice to still have some ice. So boils down to the two and maybe quality of build. I have had my Stanley thermos for years, fallen off my truck several times and still works fine. Maybe some brand loyalty, but for the price, I can afford to buy a replacement. ,

    Im planning to get a tumbler one day but not sure which one yet lol.
    With Stanley im seeing the bennefit of being suitable fir hot and cold drinks. The lid allows that easily.
    However it has the isssue of leaking and the lead controversy.
    The hydro Flask and Yeti ones seem more secure but with hydroflask you need a whole different mug for hot drinks on the go while with the yeti spend just another 10 for a lid for hot drinks.

    Buy the Ozark. I've had one almost 4 years. You can put hot coffee in it in the Am and it will still be warm by the afternoon. At indoor temps ice will last all day in it. You can leave it in a parking lot on 100degree days while shopping and still have ice. I once filled it with crushed ice & pina colada and had it sit in the sun a few hours by the pool. There was a big ice ball in the bottom when I was finished.

    You don't need a thermometer if there is still ice in the cup. If the temps were above 32F, the ice would have already melted. An easier way to do this is to simply see which loses the ice first. There is really no need for a thermometer for cold testing until after all the ice is gone.

  • @ivanestrada3468
    @ivanestrada3468 ปีที่แล้ว

    4 hrs is not enough time.
    As long as there is ice in the cups the water will stay at 32 degrees. But maybe one of them had less or more ice than the others which would indicate if it's better or worse quality. In Texas 4 hours matters a lot lol it's brutal here. I would test them for an entire day only because I use the half gallon jugs and I use them for work. The Ozark trail has not disappointed but I do wonder if the yeti is worth the price. I wouldn't mind paying the price if it performed significantly better

    Great test and you made it with the actual intended use, no one will leave a cup full of ice for a few days in real life and expect go back to it expecting to drink from it, well done.
    My research and personal experience has shown that the Yeti has copper inside the walls of which takes the metallic taste that some other metal containers have. For example, I had a Hydro Flask brand that tasted like I had a mouthful of coins, Yeti did NOT have that issue and I have never used anything other than that after. To me it's worth the extra money but I have not tried the others in this video. ;)

      I haven't noticed any metallic taste in any of them. Thanks for watching.

      @@EverydayMan I agree! I have a Rtic tumbler going on to about 5 years now and still kicking and no metallic taste whatsoever. I use it here in South Texas when temperatures reach 117 degrees outside! I love my cup 😊especially since it is customized with Punisher designs.
