One of the most superb vocal gifts ever granted a singer. Every male artist that ever sang this song would hear this and turn pale with envy. Not only does his towering aria reach the heavens, Bocellis voice is soft and tender as a dove. Such heartfelt feeling in a song. This is the best I've heard him sing. Maybe the best anybody ever sang. Simply exquisite.
One extra comment, not only does Bocelli have a range comparable o any tenor, his tone is the most beautiful I've heard. Pavarotti and all the rest are not as joyful to listen to. What a timeless gift.
This rendition is actually the version of Jose Carreras which made me fall inlove with West Side Story
Andreas voice is so damn beautiful i envy the most since i first listen to his entire album Sogno. His voice doesn't age still at his prime.

Wonderful interpretation. It's very hard to sound completely spontaneous, as you'd expect from a man who "just" met the love of his life. The contrast between "LOUD" music and _soft_ praying was especially well done, and holding on to the final "riiiii" for, like, two or three days -- perfect.
I tubed to a dozen different versions of Maria today. I was afraid I'd *_have_* to make my own recording. Now I can relax. ;-)

I've listened to the version by Carreras many times. You could get that at karaoke any Saturday night. Bocelli simply knocks it out of the park on this 1. It's not even close.
