One thing I love about this woman is that when she duets with others, even with the enormity of her voice, she partners instead of overwhelming. I have heard Senor Bocelli sing with other women who also have great vocal power i.e. Celine Dionne, who utterly drown him out when they open it all the way up.

Evita is technically a rock opera, and as an opera singer, I can say that Nicole doesn't have perfect opera voice as it's too breathy and light, but it works for musical theatre/art song types.

I had simply thought of her as a typical 'pop' belter via Pussycat Dolls until I came across her singing a different repertoire and was frankly astonished by her range and vocal quality. I'm a little baffled why she doesn't develop this area of her talent more. Perhaps those are commercial decisions. I'd love to hear her singing some jazz for instance. By all accounts she's a lovely lady.

From what I’ve gathered by watching various interviews etc, I think her only hope as a young, ambitious, beautiful and most importantly promising singer was to go down the girl group route. I would imagine record companies & management agencies told her that classical/jazz does not sell, in comparison to pop songs & choreography. It is great that she has embraced her natural ability as she has gotten older.
