Karl, would OSCA replace existing occupation and/or their skill requirements? That is, we may already have got our skills assessed for a particular occupation - do we then need to redo this past 6th December?

Hi Carl I realized that switching from Anzsco to Osca does not mean changing the professional requirements. For example, what changes in a profession where we take equivalence will only be the code or kd name, I think, not the distribution of requirements and tasks ? Am I wrong ?

    • @ailsaustralia

    Thanks for the update Karl.
This seems to be a grey area, so just wanted your thoughts.
Question: Having a baby constitutes of a change of
circumstances, agreed. What about pregnancy? Are couples required to report pregnancy as per the Migration Act, 104, or is it only child birth that is required to be notified? Does pregnancy, after passing the medical exam post lodging a 190 Visa, constitute a change of circumstances?
Did watch your video on what we need to tell the department, but didn't find a direct answer so wanted to ask.
If pregnancy needs to be reported, it seems to be sensitive to expect a couple to report it as soon as they find out, normally until 3 months couples don't tell anyone.
Your thoughts would be extremely helpful.

    • @ailsaustralia
      @ailsaustralia  หลายเดือนก่อน

No pregnancy is not something you need to tell the department, unless it is stopping you doing a requested medical check

And NSW shifts its position on modifying EOI after NSW 190/491 invitation again, removing references about auditing invited EOI and such. So that’s some relief I guess.
As for accountants, it is time to put the massive import of overseas accountants to rest. Same for some other popular accounting related occupations. Maybe NSW this year just doesn’t have 15000 quota to allow them to open the invitation to more occupations. Tough luck for those people for 190/491 NSW this year.
International student cap has already caused chaos and job losses, right when everyone is living tough. Bravo Australian government, Bravo. 🙄😑Good luck restoring it down the line.

What do you mean for pathway 1 &3 applicants don’t need to be invited and can apply directly? Imagine this huge graduate students that their occupation on the list and apply for this pathway🤷‍♂️.
What is the differences between two applicants?
Logically, the capacity would be limited!

    • @estellebright2579
      @estellebright2579 หลายเดือนก่อน

It means exactly as what NSW government says: apply directly to NSW government rather than waiting for an invite. And no, majority of international graduates will not study in any part of regional NSW, including Wollongong and Newcastle. Basically, most NSW international graduates will not be able to benefit from this pathway, so impact is fairly limited. It could also be a means to incentivise more people to study in regional rather than clogging up Sydney should this policy continue.

Pov from a non-english speaking country, & construction industry:
Do they still expect carpenters/ gen workers to achieve higher english scores? A construction staff wearing white colored helmet struggles to achieve compentent english, what about more those workers?

If there are housing crisis then why they inviting more of offshore people and specially if they are not from trade while keeping cap on international students. Also long wait for 190 grant people on bridging visa not getting job in their field. I am on bridging visa from last 13 months and getting rejecting due to not having actual visa and while they saying need more skilled people. There are people already here are skilled but can’t work due to visas.

Sorry to hear you have been having trouble and I feel the government should run advertising campains to inform employers people who are on bridging visas can still work and contribute to their occupations. It is a shame they do not do this

@@ailsaustralia yes even I mentioned them I am on bridging visa they don’t know and saying is it 485. Companies only know temporary or permanent residents that’s it. Don’t know any visa subclasses and how they work. There are already plenty of skilled people onshore and want to work but employer not hiring based on visa. I think government need to fill gap of information between employers and employees about visas.

Employers simply don’t want to deal with complex visas like bridging visas. Too many things to figure out and too much risk. PR visas and some of those working visas are easier to manage and control. It’s a shame bridging visa holders with no conditions are left out, but I can understand why employers don’t want to deal with them.

@@satnamsheera3857 yeah but bridging visa is not a substantive visa after all, despite those visa holders can work just fine while holding them. DOHA def should do more education on this but I see it as lower priority activity for them.

Hi Karl, first let me compliment you for your valuable research before time and sharing the details. Secondly, I want to ask you that what are my chances as an offshore candidate with an occupation as ict business development manager (221252) with 85 points for 190 and 95 points for 491? Furthermore, NSW has mentioned digital and cyber (across all formats) my experiences are related to digital. Can I apply and anticipate something?

Hi Karl, I submitted my ROI yesterday to South Australia, however I found minor mistakes and I withdraw twice. I always selected the same visa (190) but I am scared the fact I withdrawed 2 times will affect my application negatively. I am a chef with 95 points under SA graduate stream. Please advice, I can’t sleep 😔

    Hi Karl,
Thank you so much for your informative videos! I always look forward to them every Saturday. I recently graduated with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong, NSW. Due to visa delays, I had to start my first semester online from India, only arriving in Australia towards the end of that semester. Here's a brief timeline of my journey:
    31 May 2022: Subclass 500 visa lodged
    25 July 2022: Master's course commenced (online)
    9 September 2022: Subclass 500 visa granted
29 November 2022: First entry to Australia (Melbourne)
14 February 2023: Moved to Wollongong, NSW
    19 July 2024: Completed Master's program
I am currently living in Wollongong and planning to apply for the 491 visa under Pathway 3. Given that my time in a regional area (Wollongong) from 14 February 2023 to 19 July 2024 adds up to 17 months, do you think I would meet the regional study requirement for this pathway?
I'd really appreciate any advice you could offer on this.
Thanks again for your helpful content!

Hi Karl, thank you for the video. A quick question, please. I have applied for the visa 491 for 4 months and the application status is now Received. I'm considering changing my job. My current job is a highly related occupation and I claim points for this job. My nominated occupation is Developer Programmer. The job I'm changing to is not highly related to my nominated occupation but is still under the ICT umbrella. Will this cause any issues if I decide to change my job?

    Hi Karl,
Isn't it wrong to consider nurses n health care workers in priority and avoiding the vet nurses and animal health workers at the same time as the treat animals and not humans. NSW, Queensland, WA etc all avoided them in their occupation list.
Can you please raise a concern regarding this discrimination with our friend animals.
