Inthe kast story Dennis is a lusr and a cheat. He didn't think he would get caught, even though he lied about going on a trip with a make friend from back in school. He told his wife that he forced his friend to invite him to his wedding, and then he supposedly went on a trip after the wedding with another friend. It is beyond stupid to think she would believe such claptrap, she is obviously not a stupid woman.

Even if they had used divorce of a threat, at that point you go with the divorce because you know full well what you're getting into.
