I read a story about a husband that had a side piece. He decided to move in with her and divorced his wife. The thing is he died in a work place accident before the divorce was final. He never had his wife's name taken off none of his accounts. His life insurance, his insurance at work, his 401K, and because it was a work place accident that he died in, she got a two million dollar settlement as well as the other cash !!The side piece was mad that she took the wife to court to get money she thought she was legally entitled to. She lost big time!! The judge just laughed at her and dismissed the case!! She didn't bury him either. The side piece had to borrow money to do it!!

Basically, the court compared the mistress's suit to a thief suing after he cut himself on glass while breaking into the house. Also, the names on those documents are the ultimate authority. Even if the couple had divorced and had not spoken for a decade, if he did not remove her name, then the money was hers.

Utterly ridiculous that it takes almost 5 minutes of the MiL repeating "you're his wife" before Lucy finally decides to deny it. If you re-read the story from the beginning with the knowledge that they're already divorced, there are so many points in that conversation where, realistically, the "wife" would have said "no, I'm not his wife anymore." If you're going to make her withhold that information until the middle of the story, you really need to give a good explanation of why she didn't just spit it out right away. It just wasn't believable.
Lucy is one strong lady. So many girls would fall for all the apologies and professions of love. Especially with the MIL also apologizing. I can’t say I wouldn’t fall for it. I’d like to think I would that’d I’d be that strong to resist.

I laughed when he said, "LUCY!" I'm glad Lucy contacted the lawyer and Mike's paycheck is being garnished. Maybe Mike should have sued Victoria for stealing the money.

Utterly ridiculous that it takes almost 5 minutes of the MiL repeating "you're his wife" before Lucy finally decides to deny it. If you re-read the story from the beginning with the knowledge that they're already divorced, there are so many points in that conversation where, realistically, the "wife" would have said "no, I'm not his wife anymore." If you're going to make her withhold that information until the middle of the story, you really need to give a good explanation of why she didn't just spit it out right away. It just wasn't believable.

Lucy is one strong lady. So many girls would fall for all the apologies and professions of love. Especially with the MIL also apologizing. I can’t say I wouldn’t fall for it. I’d like to think I would that’d I’d be that strong to resist.
