I love this music by John Owen Jones. I enjoy hearing people sing in their native tongue. All people should have the freedom to communicate in the way they know. John sings so beautifully that I can listen to him and never tire of him.
I absolutely love this song, I use to sing it in primary school and I use to hate it, but I have grown to love it, love Welsh songs even if I am no good at them :D
I too went to primary school in Wales and even though that was 40 years ago and I live on the other side of the world, I still love to sing these songs!

JOJ did magic to me. It seems that the emotion he put on these melody breaks the barrier of language. Or perhaps it's just me. BTW... thank you so much for the translation! Welsh sounds sexier, but... it's good to know what the real meaning of this song :-)

Thank you for this version of lyrics. 😊 A few years ago my mom found a blank business card on which her grandfather had written the first verse, with the chorus on the back. I’m Welsh-American and although I wasn’t raised with it music in Welsh tends to give me goosebumps and I tear up even if I didn’t understand the words (though I’m learning!). Maybe it will be more meaningful in time for him. I love knowing this song meant enough to my great-grandfather that he kept that card in his wallet.
