I'm glad you and Larry and back doing the cd exchange. I think it works best as a two person series. You guys will knock those videos out of the park. Billy Strings is a marvel.
I think those are the two best post-"Pet Sounds" Beach Boys albums. I give "Sunflower" a "9.5", and "Surf's Up" an "8'. "Shine On Brightly" is my favorite Procol Harum album. And "In The Wee Small Hours Of Sixpence", my favorite rare B-Side. The B-Side of "Quite Rightly So".
With Jack Antonoff as one of Taylor's main producers, that isn't entirely out of the question. But good luck, getting her to sing some of Zappa's more risque lyrics, like "Bobby Brown Goes Down". 😊😄🤣
Really looking forward to hear Larry's take on Billy. Anyways, I sense your appreciation for the Beach Boys didn't grow.... I have been listening to mainly new stuff. Still enjoying Grace Bowers & the Hodge Podge, an indy-band from Australia called Full Flower Moon Band and my latest obession called The Lion Heart, Spaghetti Western Desert Rock. A few days ago I also stumbled upon a duo called Larry & Joe, they make Latin Bluegrass, that mix shouldn't work that well.
That Graham Bond album has a lot of big names! I’ve never owned a Procol Harum album. But since watching videos here, I’ve learned there are two or three that people really like.
Hi Glen!!! That's a very nice playlist you have in there..... Graham Bond, Procol Harum and Zappa's boxset. Really cool also to hear you really enjoyed the new Jon Anderson cd, lots of great reviews and comments all over the web. cheers and be well
I have a feeling when Larry asks you your ranking of those albums, you're just gonna keep going on and on about the Jon Anderson album and not mention the Beach Boys ones at all. ;)
1:38 😂 Last night I went all in and ordered the Zappa Apostrophe box from Amazon. Though I'm not big on Zappa, I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy this one.
I have The Graham Bond Organization studio debut The Sound of 65 which is great and I should search out the others. I know that Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were on that album.
Graham Bond at a thrift shop? Gotta move to Belleville I guess. I did pick up a great Moe Koffman Quartet CD at Value Village a couple weeks back though. Outstanding stuff.
