    so on the first equation you couldn't just multiply both sides by 7 first to cancel out the 7? 7 x 2a/7-5=3 x 7, the 7s cancel out leaving 2a - 5=21...?

    • @UltimateAlgebra
      @UltimateAlgebra  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You cannot do that,. If you want to multiply by the 7 first, then you'll have to multiply each term by the the 7. including the 5. 7 x 2a/7 - 5x7 =3 x 7. That's just more work

    I thought PEMDAS was from the top to bottom not bottom to top.

    • @UltimateAlgebra
      @UltimateAlgebra  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      PEMDAS is from the top to the bottom. Solving equations is just a reversal.

    • @therisemccrae7273
      @therisemccrae7273 ปีที่แล้ว

      With equations it backwards

  • @ralphmelvin1046
    @ralphmelvin1046 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    But you don't use the same order of operations for each equation that makes it a little confusing at times.. when you should multiply when you should divide when you should add

    • @UltimateAlgebra
      @UltimateAlgebra  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ralphmelvin1046 so you can only remove the operations that are available. Every question will have different operations. Your work is to identify the operations and use the reversal on only the equations that are available. Get a lot of practice and you’ll be fine

    • @ralphmelvin1046
      @ralphmelvin1046 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UltimateAlgebra but that means you can have two different conclusions answers. Somebody can use a different operation and get a totally different answer. There was one equation where a divide was part of the equation. You used multiplication in another divided equation you use just subtraction. It's a little confusing to which one you should use for which equation
