iris murdoch is my favorite twentieth century novelist. For me her books have a kind of magical quality that's not easy to describe. I'm so glad she won the booker prize at least once although there were several of her other books I enjoyed more than the sea the sea. I also liked the bio by her friend a n wilson. a book of her letters and some of her philosophical works.⚛😀
I read The Severed Head quite a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed both the plot and characters...loved her dark humour. The ending was very unexpected!
Found this after recently reading The Sea The Sea. I kinda loved it. It seemed to be a ponderous memoir of a self-absorbed d**k, who is so utterly convinced of his own superiority. And then the thing happens. …and it almost turns into a farce. Excellent review. ❤ It was my first Murdoch, I’m going to read The Bell next.
You're such a treat to watch. Thank you. You should sell your knitting for extra cash. You'd be surprised what people are willing to pay for a nicely knitted sweater.
@@alanaestelle2076 My mom used to knit. She made beautiful things. I still have a sweater my aunt made for my father. I swear a sweater like that would easily sell for $1000, maybe more. It's something that lasts. I've considered becoming a make-up artist on the side. It's rather lucrative. My friend is a teacher, but does hair on weekends. Then, I decided one career change at a time. I'm not 25. I need more sleep now.

I may have to check out some of her philosophical works at some point!

I marvel that you retain so much. For me, two years after, nothing’s left! 😂
Hahahhaha! Annotating and writing these reviews help me to remember!
