This pioneering group had some of the most dynamic lead intros among the early quartets. You can hear their influence on lead singers Owens and Tucker of the Dixie Hummingbirds. Also their striking the number 6 chord on the fourth beat of the bar rather than the third beat (and it's a full Dominant 7th chord) makes for a distinctive rounding of the circle of fifths. Nice harmony!
