A SNES version of the Marble Zone theme from the Sonic SNES Trilogy album ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ スーパーファミコン. A collaboration between MixerProductions and Yuzoboy.
Marble Zone is a good stage with some fun contrasts between it and Green Hill. The only problem is that act 3 introduces a ton of pitfalls that do get pretty annoying at times. But y'know, still :)
This SNES version really lacks the sharpness the Genesis sound chip provides ( assuming this is the closest thing the SNES sound chip can output ). Just shows with certain types of music the Genesis can provide great sounds, along with the SNES.
The Genesis sound chip, though somewhat inferior, had more bass instrument quality whilst Nintendo was mainly focused on treble. Kind of a mistake actually, bass instruments are powerful when used right.
VXFMatt I think the Genesis sound chip is very lovely. Like mentioned, it depends on the melody and instruments. There are songs that sound better on one or the other. I find SNES primes in orchestra like music and Genesis primes in Techno and rock.
This is the first Genesis to SNES convert that I actually like the SNES version better! (I have that die hard irrational SEGA fan built in to me that says anything about the SNES sucks so this is impressive!)
Very nice job! I will say I like the genesis flow a bit more but this does have a rather...foreboding feeling to it, kinda makes me wonder why Marble Zone was not in Generations 🤔
The Megadrive And The Snes Both Have Equally Amazing Sound Chips, But... I Have To Admit... As I Do Love The MD More, I Like This Over The Original Marble Zone On The MD!
I know that nobody cares to know but; When I was a child, I used to play this game and its second part, however in this case, Marble zone was more emblematic for me than the green hill zone itself, because I never got past act 2 of it, haha, it's funny thanks for reading me.
The snes really gives more of a dark and mysterious feel than the original
I know, right?
Ikr bro
Sure do! It gives you that feel of something that's mysterious but yet need to be discovered..
I wouldn't really say dark and mysterious at all it fells more mystical.
I say that it sounds more silly than mystic or mysterious
This definitely feels more like an Snes track. Castle climbing/medieval vibes.
This music makes the stage seem more...mysterious.
yes
Yes yes it does
Hmmm indeed
@Samuel games Hello I doubt
Why did you mentioned it anyway !? 😑
@@danielcebastionmunizYT I am afraid with this song
Present: genesis
Past: SNES
Good future: mania
Bad future: act 2
Here is a Mania remix: th-cam.com/video/lwSKT4wKTaA/w-d-xo.html
Past marble
Actually, the SNES version being the past is very accurate, since the Sega CD's PCM sound chip is very similar to an SNES's, just "crunchier."
No
Present -remake
Good future -mania
Bad future- snes
Past- genesis
Marble Zone - Bad Future
Its more like past.
@@b.d.miguel
Nah, past would probably be the unused music from the game gear/master system versions
@@b.d.miguel it sounds nothing like either. it sounds like marble zone in an snes soundfont.
fauster there is no past or future anyway. They are just saying it may sound like that.
Or bad past haha
This makes me really want a modern Marble Zone...
a rare and daring statement, I like your style

what do you mean? marble zone doesn't look that old.
@@Lou-yf1jo "Modern" as in "remake", another incarnation of the Marble zone in another game.
@@Terrazon if it isnt broken don't fix it
This would fit for a dungeon on a RPG.
Marble in generel also does
On the SNES yes but the N64 no
Sounds like one of FFV's dungeon themes

A truly beautiful song like marble zone sounds great on any console

MrPezzzz I'm happy someone out there doesn't hate on the Genesis because of the synth chip.

I think the same. It really challenged the musicians to get creative, therefore creating some of the best retro tracks out there.
The SNES is perfectly capable of exactly replicating Sonic music.
Play this while it's fall then look outside.
Edit: I forgot to say to do it super early at sunrise.
Perfect nostalgia :D
It’s fall rn. Perfect
Early TTS Sonic 1 soundtrack be like:
This song actually sounds good when you are travelling with cloudy weather
Or when it's getting dark...
@@Barber747 Nope not for me it doesn't gives me horror vibes when I play it's music it's actually good when traveling with cloudy weather
@@kragicroadto1k well for me it's great nightfall music. Only speaking for myself.
@@Barber747 ok
Come on, fellas. How about we just say a cloudy night and meet down the middle.

This.... **sniff...** is beautiful...*almost sheds a tear*
This is truly a masterpiece
I love these, It feels like the outro of an anime that never existed but that somehow brings so much hope and nostalgia
Really don't get why so many people seem to hate this zone's theme. I've always thought it was a banger, and this really helps highlight why.
凄え、80年代っぽくて良いアレンジですね!
This is it, I like it!
sounds lit

We dont have to stop here.
Oh yes we do!

They couldn’t include all of the stages.
Omg dis sounds so awesome!
SNES: It would be *Mario* going through the dark side of Marble Zone.
sounds like a hypothetical “Past” remix for Sonic CD
As a kid, i had a fear the level would just brake apart and i would be flooded in lava.
This sounds like Italy music
why i feel nostalgic
This tone and style should have been remixed much more often
I agree with you Jack, hopefully that day comes soon
0:32 Is that an SCV4 instrument?
More "disco" than the original! Pretty good!!
Sounds like an abandoned location, leving it empty and mysterious.
This is trippy to listen to for after you just got high in the dawn of the day
+Stephen Blackledge It's not modern Sonic, it's cell-shaded Sonic, and I think it looks kind of cool. :D

Why can’t Sonic fall on enemies like Mario? They have shoes so?
10/10 still will never play this stage again. XD
Don't cry the best is yet to come !
Cool
Grey marble zone looks so cursed to me ;-;
The reason why did is so much darker is because it's in a much lower key
Sounds like music my grandma likes
sounds like Dark Fantasy RPG game.

If Sonic the Hedgehog were made in 1987 and were only for SNES and GENESIS (MEGA DRIVE)
bleh nope snes wasnt released until 1991
at first it was only released for the genesis so your comment doesn’t make sense
Walfox+ He's just trying to state that if this game had been made for the SNES, this is what this level would sound like.
