definitely can’t open the schar with hands unless you have super strength, gluten free bread is almost always either frozen or double wrapped to help prevent cross contamination and to help stay fresh cause it doesn’t hold its structure or moisture as well without gluten binding it
I know a friend who is very allergic to gluten true celiac and her tests still show signs of having gluten and guess what it’s those rare times of going out for food and having cross contamination happen. So yes a tiny bit of gluten in form of soy sauce does make a huge difference IF you’re body can’t handle gluten
i love the smoothie idea for breakfast but sometimes it’s just too cold for a smoothie. my go-to warm breakfast is soup noodle! a rice noodle, boiled for 2 minutes, chuck in tofu and spring onion and season with whatever (i do soy sauce when im really lazy) and that’s like a 5 min breakfast with minimal cutting and prep :-))
I recently got diagnosed with celiac disease and it's Lowkey nice that you've been doing this because you are voicing my opinions!!!! I know not everyone thinks the same way but not eating gluten is harddddd.
Yeah even though there are still a lot of things you can eat, it's hard because so many convenient/cheap foods are not an option. And texturally, it's definitely something to get used to.
@@Natnat994 absolutely! The texture is the hardest thing to get past for me. And I agree. It's more expensive if you are buying replacements and not just whole foods.
@@jessh1707 Yeppp everything is either grainy/sandy or mushy/dense lol
You will get used to it, after a while. Nobody loves gluten more than I did. And I don’t even have urges any more
@@hopegold883 ugh I hope so because i have no choice you know?
9:16 "if there were a bugs in here, I wouldn't know" 😭 that's hilarious, I feel the same way! On another note, I had really bad scalp issues for a while, I found this scalp oil called Dermasolve, that and rosemary water completely cured it in like 2 weeks! Hope things get better Emily!
I visited California last month and finally got to go to a grocery outlet - thought of you. I'm gf too (and veggie) so it's nice to see this content. They're expensive but Sweet Loren's cookies are good, they're vegan and gf - I recently bought the cookie dough and have it in the freezer to bake a cookie at a time
the spatula that don't leave anything in the bowls in spanish, or in Chile, we call them "mezquino", traslated to english is "mean" or something like that, we call them like that bc they doesn't leave ANYTHING, is just magnificent
Or lengua (tongue) ,also in chile :)
" where going back into the closet " I started dying laughing before you even said " not like that " 😂😂😂
Freezing squished bananas makes SO MUCH sense if they are to be blended, genius! I've been avoiding gluten because of GI issues and I must say it is difficult at times BUT some things are becoming much easier for me recently - gf pancakes are a great brekkie option for example and they freeze well too!
re spatula discourse, sometimes the flat kitchen tool is called a flipper or a turner, but that sounds stupid so they're both called spatulas
Just realized that I’ve been subscribed for almost 2 years 🙌🏽 excited to watch this one 💓💓
Ive heard that rubber spatula called a scraper, makes a lot more sense since that's what you use it for
Girl you’re so adorable! I love your videos so much!!! 💚
I've literally been rewatching your old videos like reruns patiently waiting for your next video. So excited to watch this :)
I love these so much! I always get excited!
Glad to have you back!
Grocery outlet for life, vegan finds for the win. Thanks for your just like normal video of what regular vegan life looks like 😅😊
I always put my cooked oatmeal in the leftover peanut butter jar.
also, I just mailed in a bunch of underwear/bras that I didn't want anymore through Subset for them to recycle. They send you the postage and you get $25 off at their online store.
the new nyt banana everything cookies are SO good and so easy and are already vegan, I feel like you'd like to try the recipe! I made three different times in the week that the recipe was published lol
I love all your videos sm
Yayyyyyy you posted
I always look forward to these vids :,)
The Asha noodles look so good
Thank u for the bday gift!!
Use a smaller spatula for PB.. that way you can get all of it out. Use a straight edge one.. it's easier to scrape off.
So funny that you store food in your closet. Lol. BTW, I am wearing my Parade bra today that I got with your discount-Thank you! Interesting to see your gluten-free journey. I tried it a while back and didn’t find that it did anything for me. That said, there is an amazing bakery near me that is vegan and gluten-free, and they make the best desserts!😊
You got me to shop at parade and I love my new bralettes 🤝🏼
Omg girl I use to watch you all the time like 7-8 year ago? Definitely missed your content :)
love the video!
i've been missing you!!!
me tooooo
ouai scalp serum works really well. It's expensive but it's so worth it.
the noise you make at 16:24 is too funny 😂
Wow so cool you got Cher to appear in the video. Please tell her I loved Moonstruck
Everyone is different but when I went gluten and dairy free for my autoimmune disease(s) it took way longer than a month to feel anything lol
The first few months actually were horrible but then it tapered out. Three years later I’ve accepted that gluten and dairy just make things worse so I don’t eat it. So if you were up to it I’d give it more time but it’s your body and life so do you but hope you get better 🫶🏽
the schar sourdough bread is the BEST -- trust
God I love these videos
I was tempted to go gluten-free after realizing how bloated I get after eating gluten it's too hard 😅 you're a trooper for getting through the whole month because I had a hard time for just a few days
idk if uve talked more abt your symptoms or if youve gone to see a dermatologist, but ive had intense scalp issues for a ling time and my dermatologist immediately diagnosed it as a seborrhoeic ekzem which is actually very easily treatable with an antifungal and im essentially symptom free now
Welcome back to the Gluten Side! 😃
Thanks!
Oh my God! My mom makes me go to osf for mothers day too! I bring my own dressing and butter and vegan parm. They also recently updated their allergen info to say fish for the minestrone😢. Im guessing they switched their Worcestershire sauce...
I used to work there so I'm invested
I do slice my bananas before freezing but thats because i eat them frozen on top of peanut butter toast :p
I actually audibly gasped at the sight of that bag of frozen mango :o
you’re the best
i would watch vlogs from you :)
Oh…I had scalp issues after I had a biopsy done and a benign tumor removed. Hormones, and a brief psychotic break. Tea tree oil directly to the scalp with castor oil conditioning left overnight. Wash out with only a shampoo. Probiotic supplements. Eczema creams.
8:20 my family always called those spatulas "child cheaters" cause they scrape all the scraps of batter and "cheats" kids out of licking the bowl and spoon. Strange I know haha
THE CHER JUMPSCARE
frozen banana mush… interesting… much to consider…
A couple yrs ago i tried the same "gluten/carb free" for a month cuz i have bad skin issues on my scalp and around my nose. Did any of it cleae up? No. Did i also somehow gain weight? Yes. Dont recommend.
I've seen spatulas shaped like that called spoonulas.
Rubber spatula✨
I just peel and break my bananas in half before freezing. 😬 🍌
GOTTA salt smoothies. Every time
the way I almost choked at that bag of mango what the hell
I am gluten intolerant and I miss gluten SO MUCH.
The fit at 9:33 is so good
It's sad that the gluten-free diet didn't help with your scalp problems, but congrats on pushing threw it for a whole month :)
I believe it's referred to as an offset spatula.
U should try taking Algae supplements. I know Omega 3 deficiencies tend to cause scalp issues
I’m early early 😂🤣
"low carb moment, against my will" 😭
It's called a rubber scraper
The banana was trying to ruin the video lol
being vegan and gluten free is a pain in the ass, been there but my issues turned out to be wheat (so i could eat rye and oats etc. and be okay) and it was a mild allergy and it went away so now I eat gluten again but I definitely got some gluten free to go meals now such as corn pasta or millet and rice stirfryes. But I think maybe you should ADD some things rather than take someting away. So ginger, tumeric (make shots), some skin supplements like zinc or look up what is good for scalp, and just anti-flammatory foods in general :)
nutritional yeast will always tell you who is vegan haha
boston dynamics
You have such a big kitchen love, love it 😊
❤🎉😊
that bag of frozen mango noooooo
You're not completely gluten free if you aren't eating oats that are certified gluten free, because only certified gluten free oats are allowed on a gluten free diet since non certified gluten free oats could be grown on the same field as wheat. The vegan Banza Mac and cheese you should be the one that comes with the premade vegan cheese sauce since it tastes way better than the vegan Banza Mac and cheese that comes with the powdered vegan cheese sauce. A lot of soy sauce has wheat as an ingredient. Slipping up with gluten those few times probably didn't help you at all. For you to see better results, you would have to eat completely gluten free without having the slip ups you had along with eating certified gluten free oats instead of the regular oats that is not certified gluten free.
You can eat corn tortillas (not flour), they’re gluten free and taste sooo good
spoonula
that's a spoontula
dont eat too many bloaty beans or gf pastas..... chickpea flour is great for dosas and wraps an so are corn tortillas... stay away from things made specifically to be gf... xoxo
I would not call your gluten free trial successful if you had "slip ups," and it takes a long time to heal.
video summary: american eats peanut butter jelly, american eats hamburger, american scrapes peanut butter from bottom of jar bc poor.
the fuck?
what
Maple
