This may be a little late but I agree. Through out the series Chuck proves time and again that he's clever, despite lacking other skills, those improve over time. Shaws biggest mistake was viewing chuck as only the intersect, he underestimates his cleverness twice. (when chuck outs him as a ring member via video, and the intersect virus) I hated shaw as a character but he made a great nemesis for chuck. I just wish he had been the final nemesis instead of them writing a new character into the lore (quinn) who was really lame.
I just noticed that, after watching Chuck's showdown with Shaw in 3x19 and their last one in 5x07, both fights end with Shaw being knocked unconscious by a woman close to Chuck.
They never actually said it, but it seemed to me that the intersect influenced chuck, to the point that even after it was removed/suppressed he still retained many of the more frequently used skills.

I totally agree. You can kinda see it throughout the seasons. When he first got the intersect 2.0, he would need to flash just to punch someone. And then later on, you see he can successfully punch and block certain moves before he needs to flash.

When I rewatch the series, I always stop at Chuck vs the Kept Man. The actual ending is well written but it sucks that it's the last thing that happens.

Concluding the show sooner would have been a good idea as well. Shaw is revealed as the source of their troubles, is defeated, Sarah is reunited with her mother and "sister" and she and Chuck decide to live a normal life. The end.

Actually I always thought it would have made much more sense for special Agent Graham to have been the big bad guy. Having faked his death in the season 2 premiere.. He didn't like the idea of having to share the intel with the other agencies. This was flat out said in the pilot after 911 all the agencies were told to "play nice". Plus Graham would have known Bryce.. could have covertly ordered Bryce into Operation: Sandwall, etc. Of course Graham was part of the plot to create a new army for FULCRUM, etc. I would much rather have seen that ending but alas.

Dude, Tom wasn't trying 2b Superman. He was just Clark Kent! The whole point of Smallville was 2 portray Clark Kent's journey towards ultimately becoming the man, the hero & the legend he is destined 2 become. The series was all about the journey & the coming of age of Clark & the experiences, relationships & struggles that all help 2 influence & mold him ultimately in the end in2 Superman. The show wasn't about him suiting up & flying around right from the get-go like in other Superman shows.
Suddenly it's Ellie to the rescue. She may be a bystander with no spy training, but like Chuck she is clever enough to outsmart bad guys or at least attack them from behind
Of course he is a great superman too, it just really took me away when I saw this. Probably, when I see Superman returns the next time, I'll say the same thing about chuck^^
I don't get this. Brandon is an actor. He played a very believable villain, but he proved to me that he can also play the ultimate good guy in Superman. In Superman Returns his perfomance is very angelic, the complete opposite from Shaw. He's a good actor.
I thought the ending was kind of wimpy. Shaw's right back where he started. They should have either given him some chance at redemption (which doesn't seem likely after murdering Chuch's father) or actually have Shaw DIE! (I don't hate the character, but an arc that just brings you back to the beginning instead of somewhere new isn't that exciting).
I love the show, however there is couple of insanely irritating characters like Shaw in the first place. Not so much evil, just incredible pain in the posterior to watch with this "cool and calm" sociopath attitude. He just has one of those faces you want to slap. Second is Chuck's sister, incredible self-righteous lady with such degrading attitude to this poor bastard Grimes in first episodes. She just plays perfect wonder woman who in the end solves problems of the Intersect design as well as kicking Shaw's and some other asses. On the other hand I love Sarah, Chuck, Casey, Grimes. Linda Hamilton is really cool and I am happy to see Gary Cole appearing.

In Shawn's defense, although he was having difficulty, it is worth remembering that the virus in his head, not only removed the intersect but also, was affecting mentally.
On one hand, I know Shaw’s the bad guy... but on the other, Ray Palmer is a hell of a lot better than that douchey version of Shazam. I’m so torn on who to root for.
