Great to see that area coming back to life after the hurricane. I’ve been there by land but not by boat. Looks like a lot of fun places to explore in that area A bit rough in our boat on a day like that; we’d be popping like a cork with our shallow draft!
Love seeing all these places to visit and try out. We were just at the Yucatan on Sat. night. They just reopened. Just a few miles past Micel's to the west. Very nice inside with swings at the bar to sit at. Boat accessible.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs We drove there that night, so we sat by where the dock was. I saw one boat but yes small ones. it. could have been a flat bottom boat. I am sure a quick call to them they could let you know. They are definitely working that area hard rebuilding. I wanted to get back and look on Sunday since we went up to Bookelia and had lunch at Cap'n Cons. And I needed to stop into four winds about a boat rental. We ran out of time.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I just checked and yes small boats. If you go to their website they have a picture of the dock area with a boat on parked. I can send you our pics from that night. :) bunch of us drinking and hanging out.
T & B - if make your rerun to The Waterfront Restaurant on a Sunday, you will get a chance to try their signature Sunday only (I think) dish of sweet tea fried chicken - and be left with plenty to take home! Many days you will share the docks there with law enforcement, the County and other agencies often use it as a central and easily accessible lunch stop.
We’ll be down for a week starting this Saturday May 11. Which beaches will our dog be welcome at. I recall a video you guys did with Matey at one of the islands. Also, it seems that there are quite a few secluded spots on the gulf side of Sanibel. If no one is around to bother, I assume it would be ok to take her there. She’s a well trained and well behaved Lab.
Lovers key dog beach is the official dog beach. I’ve seen a random dog here and there on some beaches but parks usually restrict dogs. Like Cayo Costa state park, Bowditch beach park.
We LOVE to go to the Waterfrount on SUNDAYS for their YUMMY Sweet Tea Chicken Dinner. Today we went to the new JUNKANOOS for some Blackened Fish Tacos. If you haven't been there yet, you must check it out. It is SO NICE. plenty of dock space. Its at the gorgeous Mid Island Marina. We used to go to JUNKANOOS on the Gulf all the time before Ian.
Interesting?......The water level at that "The Waterfront Restaurant". It appears the water level is approximately 1' below the sea wall? Wouldn't that area have been completely destroyed during the hurricane?
Keep up the great work.
Looking Good / Capt & Admiral !!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thanks for that info! I was trying to find out if you can get a boat there. What’s the docking situation? Small boats only?
Yucatan is great, the food is good and decently priced. Not sure where boat docking is, there lots of seagrass along there.

Hope you had a backup lunch in the refrig. At least a cold beer for the beach.
Of course!

Yes we’ve been to Junkanoo a couple times. It’s actually featured in an upcoming video.

It was flooded. They rebuilt it and just reopened last month
@@crfflashforward Thank You, the seawalls elevation are quite low as he shown.
Have you gone to Phuzzys or Low Key Tiki yet next canal over?
Yes. Been to both a few times.
It can be a challenge
Buy a 22ft boat it’s really easy !!
St. James City was really nice when my family moved there in 1968, all the people from up north have ruined it.
🤣
I was born in 1968 ! 😝
