Pals get access to things they couldn't possibly get on their own, like better food (as measured by their sanity restoration to nutrition ratio), weapons, and soft beds. And unless you use the command stand or manually assign them to tasks, you're not even telling them what to do, they just pick whatever job they _can_ do of their own volition, and stop when they're tired. Only they can't do is leave the base (unless carried by you), but I interpret that as more of a game limitation than a true in-universe limit. The AI isn't smart enough to choose to go on expeditions on its own and adding that capability wouldn't add enough to the game experience to justify the cost of implementing such a feature. For all the jokes about putting your Pals to work in the plantations, objectively speaking they're just farming food so they'll always have enough to eat. Why am I giving this big rant in an unrelated video? The way your Depresso ran to help you build when she spotted you reminded me of it, and I had some pent up emotions on the topic.
I always did see pokemon as a series with good potential for world building if the games remembered pokemon weren't blank slate PNG's of one another and took their backgrounds into account. Palworld is confronting that fact by marooning all of them on an island far from society, having all the humans be disparate survivors, poachers, and crimelords, and stating outright that you are managing nuclear neopets, they *have* had positive or negative history with human interaction, are mastering firearms to keep their own fortress caves intact, and if you don't know what you're doing they *are* smart enough to protest and shiv you in your sleep.
Fun fact. Depresso makes the happiest face when he's face down floating in the hot springs. The only reason I know that is cause my Depresso started to ascend up to the heavens.
Depresso is walking proof that AI had no hand in this game. Take one look at this boy, all of the soul in him, and tell me that a human touch isn’t responsible.
True if an ai did make the design and model for the game you'd quickly notice a lot of deformities such too many fingers, sweat becoming part of the skin accessories being horribly melded to the model. A.i. cant tell what's an accessory or not and most of the time a.i. art does is freaking body horror
they could still generate the concept art with AI and choosing the best ones and tweaking it slightly. Still counts as a use of AI. But using AI for creative purposes is not bad at all, as long as the end result is great. I don't get why people hate artist using AI

If the Palworld index has anything to say, Depresso is stated to "Seem outwardly aloof, yet helps other Pals when it thinks noone is looking". While Mining is a Good way to get resources, it is still kind of secondary to actually building things that outright help other pals and humans... So Depresso just half-asses when it comes to mining, yet is more vigorous when it comes to actually _building_ things.
Palworld really is a great game and devs put it a lot of work in them there are more than 100 pals and each of them have animation for tasks fighting and etc.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Depresso. I will never leave her. I quite honestly bought this game solely for the Depresso and it's only gotten better. I could make an entire video on interactions with her and the funny faces.
I have a depresso and constantly pet her. Just to see her smile and look happy before she takes on my normal personality. The other one I'm in love with is the Daedream. I swear they've done what Nintendoesn't. Actually made cute collectable critters.
Nintendo Stans are just mad that PalWorld is what they want Pokémon to be, or at least does new things with a similar premise to Pokémon. Like, who hasn't imagined equipping your Pokémon with unique equipment that amplifies one or more of their attacks, like gauntlets or vambraces that amplify Lucario's Aura attacks, for example? Nintendo hasn't done a damn thing with their IP for decades, and now that someone else has, they are sweating bullets because that's eating into their market shares.
And also really building a life with your pokemon together. Imagine having a machoke but not using him to carry stuff around. Imagine having a sandslash but he doesn't know how to cut. Lol

oh dear jesus you have so many rock and tree plantations. like i had 1 of each and couldn't even get rid of it all. i had over 8000 in weight because i remember the weight not the amount. because i had to leave it behind when i moved my base. from the beginning area. Its still there in chest as well i guess destroying palbox wont destroy chest. but it would take 16 trips to bring it all imma not do that. also within like an hour i already have a but load more so i have too much again.

use direhowl dash attack you still can move around even with tons of stones and woods. it's slow but you can do it in one trip
grappling gun works too. once you unlock more than 1 base you can set up a teleport to be nearby as well.
