Back in the 90s, me and my boys aways pronounced Roces like "row sees". That's what it will always be to me. I remember the Roces shoes I had back in 97 or 98, one of the graphics on them was a roach with r in it. I don't know, but yuto goto has some nasty clips. So smooth.
Another edit to start my day, as a proud Minnesotan skater myself i love this channel, it’s as much a learning source as it as entertainment and inspiration
MFT brand is clothing brand started by Soichiro Kanashima, you can check their online store, some skater from same locals with Soichiro, which includes Yuto, Eiji, and Miki wore them.
Man I love Yutos style, so much steeze from his clothes to his tricks he makes it look good! On a side note I'd love to see you try out a different pair of skates one day and see how you get on after skating SLs for so long.
MFTbrand is a clothing brand by Soichirio Kanashima. Butter TV has a video about Soichiro and the Japanese skating scene in which Soichiro tells about it. That video also contains a Soichiro section you defenitely have to watch when making a new Soichiro state of skate video :D I highly encourage watching the entire Butter TV video btw, it's incredible. Great video as always Butch, really enjoying these, it's like watching skating vids with my friends :)
Is it a ch or sh sound? I think the Italians say it with a sh sound, but I could be wrong. I say row-sess personally, but I know that's not the correct way to say it.
Roces is pronounced "roaches", I believe. Back in 2000 when I got my Roces Khuti, there was a roach on the box, and they also gave a roach keychain with the skates
"ce" is pronounced "che" in Italian, so yes Ro-ches is the proper pronunciation, but here in the US tend to simplify things, I've said it Ro-cees my whole life lol
I'm new to your vids so I don't know if you've done a reaction video for Dima Macrushin.(prolly not spelled correctly) dudes got serious talent and his style is unmistakable.
My opinion on roces is it’s roaches as in cockroaches, my khuti’s even came with a roach thingy. The Italian pronunciation sounds kinda like it too imo but italianer.
I had my first Roces skates in 1996. For me, Roces always equals Roses 🌹🌹🌹🌹 It was quite clever to change the S with a C to make the brand name unique. The Roces skates were beautiful and the sport was flourishing in the 1990s. Unfortunately, years later (beginning or mid 2000s) in the downfall period of inline skating, the Italians started rebranding with Roces with roaches 🪳🪳🪳🪳 The most obvious reason is probably that the Italian way of pronouncing the C is TCH. So, that's when all the confusion started. The deeper cause is perhaps that that "aggressive skating" (horrible branding) got a really bad reputation in the media. There was a lot of negativity and in such an environment roaches 🪳🪳🪳 fit better than roses 🌹🌹🌹 For me, the rebranding of Roces almost 20 years ago, marks the downfall period of inline skating. The brand almost vanished. So did inline skating. Good news is we are still here and it seems that inline skating is finally growing again! 😃🙌🏻🪴🌴🛼
Yuto's style is phenomenal. He's one of the best skaters in my opinion. Great video. Greetings from Brazil, Japan, and Taiwan

Great video Butch. Yuto is the master.
Could legit watch Yuto skating all day long. So good!
Nice mix of some hammers and some newer style and sooo much steeze 🤙🏻🤙🏻

All the love to Yuto! My favorite skater.
yoto kills it! always stoked to see anything from him
I don't think he's underrated by his peers at all. Pros know exactly how good he is. Roces knows how good he is. So define "underrated"
Skate God!

I think you should be a judge at comps. Seems fitting given your eye for nuance and difficulty.

It’s supposed to be pronounced “Roh-Chess” but a lot of people will say “Row-sees”
Is it a ch or sh sound? I think the Italians say it with a sh sound, but I could be wrong. I say row-sess personally, but I know that's not the correct way to say it.
Great vid I like how you explained everything and yuto is very good
Row-sess has always been my way of saying it, but I believe its row-shays/row-sheys in Italian.
Bout time Butch. This dude is the style God. But if you want to cover someone truly underrated do a feature on Dave Hartnett. Love everything you do
It's either Ro Cees but in Italian, it's Roaches, which is why the old ads and boxes had a picture of a roach on them.
this is completely new to me, but it's awesome
Roces is pronounced "roaches", I believe. Back in 2000 when I got my Roces Khuti, there was a roach on the box, and they also gave a roach keychain with the skates
Yup, thats for sure.
Roaches is most proper, also hear row-sees or row-siz mostly.

Why doesn't he get more recognition??? Ask Soichiro. They skate soo similar. Perfect style. Azuma is good too.
Imagine if Is write like Rhochess....
From an italiano!
U r welcome 💟

Roces=🪳
Misfit aka topside mistrial lol
ROW SHES
Apparently it’s pronounced “roaches” 😇
Roces=Row-sis
Dude has a pro Roces skate... How is that overrated?
It's pronounced Row-Sees
or roachez lol
idk how this video popped up on my TH-cam. I'm a skateboarder I respect your craft but yall have some stupid trick names
Hahaha yeah we do have stupid trick names. Confirmed.
Fully agree, we have to change some of the trick names.
