Don/Candus Interview Analysis: • Summer Wells' Parents...
Summer Wells disappeared on the evening of June 15th, 3 years ago. Since then, despite receiving over 6,500 leads, the TBI and law enforcement has been unable to locate her. While assistant director of the TBI, Joshua Melton, assures those concerned for Summer’s safety that all efforts are being made to find her, Summer’s parents, Don and Candus, tell a different story. In their narrative, the law enforcement has been neglectful and antagonistic of them, and they even accuse CPS of “kidnapping” their remaining children. This video is centered around the body language of the parents and of Mr. Melton during their most recent public statements.

I do go to church and I am "religious" but Gary Ridgway, "the Green River Killer" was moved to tears by sermons in the church he attended and Dennis Rader, "BTK", was a very active and trusted member of his church. Not sure about the dad, but Candace does not seem right. I have always felt that at least she may have done something to Summer or else she knows something. The husband ALWAYS makes excuses as to why Candace can't (or won't) participate in interviews. She'll be physically there, but will not say much. This family is bizarre and something is just not right.

Don't be so naive about Candus. She is good at lying, and she has lost seven kids to CPS. The 8th one went missing under her watch. Candus is a violent woman.
These people haven't been competent parents in their lives. Neither have their parents, nor theirs, etc.. it was stone cold criminal neglect, drugs, alcohol, guns, sexualized environment, lack of care, lack of protection, call it whatever you want. Summer is gone due to these two abusive non-parents. Don only lies when his mouth opens.

I've seen other true crime channels that says that LE start disregarding parents of missing kids after a while. They stop responding to messages, they stop taking calls and stop seeing them all together. The older the case gets, the less in touch cops stay with family and they start ignoring efforts to get information

Police need to find SOMETHING to connect them, so they can be held accountable. it’s unfortunate law enforcement fumbled so hard in the beginning….its been obvious since day 1 that the Wells hold the key to summers “disappearance” and are the direct reason for it 😢 #justiceforsummer 💜
I'm not sure what evidence you have that law enforcement mishandled this investigation.
I was a law enforcement child abuse investigator for 15 years in the area where the Well's live, and I worked closely with DCS. I also was a juvenile court bailiff. Typically, when children are removed, DCS gives you a list of tasks to perform, and when you perform those tasks, you usually get your children back. I am not privy to what tasks the Well's parents were given, but some examples usually are: complete parenting classes, obtain a driver's license, alcohol and drug classes, drug screenings, obtain a safe living space, obtain a job, visit the child on a regular scheduled basis, anger management classes... As you can see, these tasks are not difficult to complete.

I wonder though, how much harder it gets when you have crazy people showing up at your job sites and the pure psychological horror of not knowing where your child is or what happened to them. Idk but I feel like the Wells were abused by social media people right from the start.
It makes me wonder if they are allowed to visit their sons and whether or not the sons have behavioral issues

The "we know Summer was abducted, taken away in a vehicle" assertion: that's Don Wells' reason for speaking. That's the whole spin for him because there is no evidence supporting that assertion. Combine that with the deflecting from Don and Candus having all their kids taken away and them never getting them back, and I conclude Don hasn't been straightforward or truthful even once. This interview is a performance.
She had 2 removed permanently before she had these with Don. One was permanently brain damaged.

Candus lived in Arkansas and had 2 children when she was 15 and 16 and lost those kids because she was on drugs and an alcoholic. Women like her should never have children!! They both lied about Summer!!

Cases get closed all of the time. Sometimes to the detriment of the children. We have seen that happen far too often.
This couple gives me the creeps. I don’t know if the killed Summer or not, but I know that they didn’t take good care of their children.

This is local to my area and I'm sick that there has been no progress on this. The parents are criminals. They've had every child they've ever had taken away from them (and there's more kids than just Summer and the three boys). They should not be walking free, and there's a laundry list of reasons why.

TBI does not inspire confidence. Several recent cases back that up. They are not resolving too many cases, they keep everything too closed off, and it feels like very old fashioned good old boy policing as opposed to modern methods.
If we compare these ‘parents’ to others we have seen, it does not look good. I really hope someone eventually does the right thing for Summer, and this gets solved!

At 12:37, Candus was referred to as Summer. Summer is their missing child, Candus is the mother.
I was a foster parent before our son was adopted. They told us in foster parenting class that birth parents have to only put forth a small effort to regain custody. Usually a parenting class and drug tests. You really have to not try at all to not get them back.
Even such a small gesture as sending/giving a child a card can keep the courts from cutting ties with a biological parent.
The Wells also have a missing child, under their watch. Why give them the boys under those circumstances...the parents very well could be responsible. Look what happened with Harmony Montgomery and the many other cases that a judge ruled wrong. The boys are better with their Foster parents. Maybe when they're 18, they can decide to return to their parents.

That's not always true. All that has to happen is that the caseworker be a sociopath and there are many of them in that job
As a teacher, I've seen family neglect and abuse for decades, and this case seems to me to be a result of neglect. Either she somehow slid through the cracks and got lost and/or taken, it was probably a result of their not paying attention. A theory that I don't want to consider: one of the other kids somehow injured/ended Summer and the parents covered it up. This isn't very likely, since kids will talk at some point, but it is worth considering. I hope someday that little girl or her remains are found. Clearly, though, these parents were unacceptable for CPS to take all of them and still not returned them home.
i have wondered that as well because the boys were the last to see her, supposedly, and candus supposedly yelled at them for not keeping an eye on her. i think candus left all the kids at home while she went out and did whatever, and when she got back didnt notice for a while summer was missing. i do still believe its possible someone abducted her. i think people hear the word abducted and think of some stranger but its just as likely someone summer knew or who knew her took her. especially if the parents were not paying much attention and were having all kinds of shady characters coming around to party. i would think one of the boys would have said something by now but you dont know exactly what situation theyre in while in foster care. foster care isnt always a great living environment either, unfortunately.
I think if one of the other kids did it Don and Candus would have given them up already. They don't seem like the kind of people who would take the fall for their kids.

This is an excellent suspicion. I understand that both Candus Dearest and Dirty Don do A LOT of drugs and alcohol. I have no doubt that blackouts were and continue to be frequent. Absolutely anything can happen during a blackout.

Question for you!! I’ve heard there’s been multiple mountain lion sightings in that area.. I’ve always wondered if a mountain lion had taken summer away… especially since it’s been said that they heard a child scream. Are you aware of mountain lions in your area??
@@Jennifermcintyre very unlikely. They are pretty rare here, and there is much easier, quiter prey available. They'd snatch pets and livestock first. (I also live in the area.)
This happened really close to where I live, maybe an hour away. I think about this poor baby all the time. Everyone here most definitely believes her parents did something. She deserves justice. All I can think of is Evelyn Boswell, ironically from the same general area.
How such a beautiful child can come from such heartless demons is beyond me

Their video of Summer dancing in the rain bare foot in front of a barrel with paint written "for sale", continues to haunt me.
They had that barrel for a long time. And they didn't put the tape on it. It was on it when they got it.

Tennessee has a ton of missing people. Why?
I will never forget driving through parts of rural mountainous Kentucky and Tennessee. There are pockets of grinding and illiterate poverty and generational drug and alcohol abuse that lead to desperate people and sad outcomes. I'm not singling those two states out, I'm sure many states have such areas but I saw some of that firsthand.

About 2 weeks ago I saw posts for 5 young girls who had gone missing in the Louisville KY area, my theory for these smaller/unsuspecting areas is that a human trafficking org has moved in and is taking advantage of people thinking it could never happen in a quiet southern state. It's so so essential to teach your kids to be aware and smart
Shitty state.
Basic social safety net things like healthcare and good public schooling get politicized and defended, the people fall deeper into poverty with less opportunities for improving their lives. In deepest poverty with no resources, people turn to crime, drug use, and are much more likely to abuse their children. Further, policing is very much a good old boy's club in the southern states. Nothing gets done, especially for the poor.

This case is so unsettling. I find it difficult to believe, in this day and age, that there is no evidence/clues as to what happened to Summer. I worked for a CPS agency for 25 years (as support staff) and yes, Don, they do close cases. Otherwise, the number of staff would be enormous. CPS does not normally release any information about cases; all is kept confidential. Court records may or may not be public information. If they are not working with the family towards reconciliation, I would think the agency would seek permanent custody, depending on the age of the children. There's always the possibility that Summer is alive somewhere. I hope and pray this case will eventually be solved.

I can't hold eye contact because it makes me anxious and feel uncomfortable but I have ADHD. I touch my face alot I look at the floor . I feel uncomfortable crying in front of people sometimes I will laugh even though I'm super upset but it comes out that way even with tears in my eyes idk y . Same, body language analysis is as scientific as a lie detector test and hand writing analysis. And it's been proven on multiple occasions across time that it's unreliable and based on interpretation.
I laugh when I get hurt, I cry when I get shy. I fidget when the environment is loud and calm down when the environment is quiet.

That's why ppl are studied for their baseline as we ate all different. I fidget, play with my hair and avoid eye contact. I do too laugh when nervous.
Canduce fascinates me. She looks kind of diabolical sometimes but this is probably her baseline expression. She seems flat here but she may have a coping mechanism of dissociating, a skill developed by children who are abused and neglected.

this is so sad. I oscillate between things i think happened, but every scenario ends up with same ending. It is likely Summer was gone within hours of her going missing, but there is still hope.

If a car pulled up to the road where dogs last smelled summers scent then what evidence would they expect to find if summer knew the driver and got in the car on her own? There wouldn’t be any evil aside from possible foot or tire tracks and the dogs smelling summers scent ending there.
We have so many missing children, and many cases gone cold; ie, Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers. Codie Bigsby, Harmony Montgomery, Sincere and Classic ....so many others. Parents need to do better, our CPS need to be trained better, and our courts need to place more emphasis on child safety. Quinton Simon was given to his grandmother, but the grandmother allowed her negligent daughter to live in her home, with the child that was already removed from Lalani. The grandma placed her grandchild in danger. She should be jailed as well for negligence and breaking the court order.
I believe the same about Quinton’s grandmother. All they did was slap her on the wrist. I was shocked she didn’t get more. This situation took that baby’s life. How does any adult living in that home (a brother and stepdad to Lelani ) not blink an eye?

They actually found Summer's footprints up on a hill near her house. A certified K9 found it, there was a campsite set up, that looked directly unto the Well's property!
Allegedly there's numerous registered SOs within that area. 😢😤😭

At the beginning Don mentioned heaven! That is the biggest red flag in that part. That shows guilty knowledge that she is no longer alive.

@@SunshineCountryChickens He would not have intentionally leaked that as that would prove that he knew she was no longer with us. Which would prove that he either did it or knew what happened to her and was involved somehow. That was unintentional leakage, that when he thinks of summer he can't help but associate her with heaven as that is where he believes she is. This would explain his sudden turn to religion after summer "got gone".
People can lie but they end up dropping things out unintentionally. Even the best liars and psychopaths do this. Especially when they are under pressure, or we get to listen to them speak multiple times.
I believe this crime could be solved by some experts listening to all the things don and Candus have said on social media over all this time since the disappearance of summer. I think a mixture of body language experts, language analysis experts, behaviour experts, coupled with polygraph for don, Candus and others who seem to know what happened, even the use of remote viewers and psychics as there are alot of fraud but there are most definitely authentic ones.
Also i think the boys may have said things to their foster carers by now.
There are many ways they could solve this case with all the resources they have. It's annoying as I'm sure that if certain members of the public had access to all the technology they have at their disposal they would have solved it by now.
When kids go missing and it's been so many hours/days/weeks, it's pretty obvious to anyone that they probably aren't alive anymore. Not necessarily a red flag.

I didn't know much about this case when it happened but I've watched both your videos on the Wells family now and I definitely think they played a part. And to echo another commenter, the fact that they haven't gotten their other kids back says a lot. My hubby's aunt had all 4 of her kids taken from her and given to her (elderly) father and his wife, but she got a LOT of chances first. From what I understand, the courts want kids to stay with the family but if it's that bad of a situation they WILL remove them (and they should!) and the fact that Don sees himself as the victim in this situation says a lot (allegedly, in my opinion). I do like to think your theory from the last video is correct and someone took her out of compassion but you would think she would have resurfaced by now if that were the case.

Don does all the talking in this case but in his own words he was at work all day then he spins the whole story like he was there. Then that said he was not at work. Remember Grandus said Summer called Don to ask what to do with Summer.He said don't take her to the hospital for Candus to meet up with him said Don. So Don was the last person to see Summer if that was the case.

My sister just had a case closed with children services 2 days ago.... children services caseworkers put there input in to the judge and ultimately a decision is made between children services and the judge on what's to come- yes the judge has the last say but my sister just got both her boys back after almost 2 years. So yes that's a bold lie and claim he made 😮.. I don't care that mom and dad are full of crap. They did something with that baby I don't buy any of their bs... a child just doesn't disappear within a few min

@@120acres I have 6 children, if 1 of them had ever been removed from my custody, I would have been so destroyed, I'm not sure how I'd go on in general, all of them, never learning that lesson, it's like puppies or something to her just done with em and hand them off instead of fixing your issues??? That is terrifying! Don kids get taken away before his kids with her? I honestly have no clue, he seems to be really sad but I do believe they are simple people to put it kindly and I'm not sure what those poor children went through. @@marandaturner942 Don had 2 children prior to ever meeting her. And did not lose custody of them, however his wife at that time is actually the one that did most of the raising of them. They are grown now but do still have a good relationship with him. I have never felt good about numerous things about Don himself, however I have always felt that he only knows the story that Candus has fed to him about Summer going missing. She had two children in Wisc. removed by the state. Then had another child in Ark. again removed by the state. Then these last three (the Wells) children removed by the state. Plus, one child (Summer) missing. Now who is the problem here?

The most likely scenario for a missing child in an expansive, heavily wooded area is that she wandered off and got lost. I don't understand why Summer's mother and father haven't looked for her in the woods. I don't believe they ever have. I would have been desperately looking in those first several days. Even today, I'd still be out there looking for her bones.
Candus said she didn't go into the woods.....too many snakes.

There has been a pretty extensive search. I'm not sure she is on the property . I hope they find this child. There are MANY missing girls from our area. It is pretty scary. Where are they going and who is taking them? Praying for Summer being found
Hold your children tight... and start causing a ruckus at the police department or your local governed body. Are they sitting on their asses? How can you have so many missing children in your area, and the result is a... what? A shrug? Is anything being done?

I have always suspected she was still on the property... I align with Logans theory. I feel there was an accident and they covered it up. I know they had dogs searching but I feel the dogs missed her somehow...

You know what i find most difficult with body language is theres so much left to interpretation and not knowing the context, its really hard to know anything for sure. You can speculate why someone is lying, or feels shame and you can be a detective trying to solve things but its mostly speculation. Recent years Ive found linguistic and statement analyses. I think language is way way more accurate. Still fun to watch these type of videos.
Theyre illiterate and can barely speak, say the wrong words and are always on drugs and have been drinking, you cant analyze that to look for hidden clues

My immediate reaction is oh these people are guilty as hell. Then I have to remind myself that I’m being judgmental. My reasoning is not on facts but rather appearances. They may not have done anything,& someone they have brought around their kids did this . Shady people usually hang out with shady people so they could literally have had anyone come to their house & take this girl for their own disgusting reasons. Everyone has been so sure that they are guilty nobody looks anywhere else. I’m sure the police are but the internet. This one drives me crazy .
