I want to give God Praise 👏 🙌...a couplecweeks ago i got a pelvic ultrasound finding out i have endometrial hyperplasia with endometrial carcinoma not excluded. This causing me to have to have a pelvic MRI. Which God really helped me because im very claustrophobic and it took and hour for the test. Well Monday afternoon i found out i dont have endometrial carcinoma! Praise God 👏 🙌 still crying happy tears!!!
I can always have room for growing in faith. And be a better witness and friend. I thank God for his mercy and grace! And for leading me to a wonderful church! Thank you for another great message. And I like that outfit!
Thanks for this study! Amazing verses! May God bless you for sharing with us your wisdom! Your studies are such a blessing. Praying for you and Debbi and your works daily. May the Lord increase your wisdom and knowledge concerning his Son, and your ability to communicate with others. May all of us know him more as he draws us closer daily!
I read this in one of my study Bibles. A word of encouragement offered at the right moment can be the difference between finishing well and collapsing along the way. Look around and be sensitive to others’ need for encouragement and offer supportive words or actions.
Excellent study, Dr. Bagwell! Wow, love that sanctuary! "Comfort"/παρακαλέω/parakaleō. We are in the section of first Thessalonians where he brings doctrine down to earth. He is teaching us to not just be hearers of the word but also doers of the word. He told Titus to live a life of faith, showing all good fidelity and that they might adorn the Lord in all things. "Adorn" means to wear piece by piece the doctrine of the Lord Jesus. Don't ever live a life that doesn't agree with the doctrines of the Lord Jesus. "Appointed"/τίθημι/tithēmi/ordained. God has never ordained His people to suffer HIs wrath. We might be chastened, but we will never suffer His wrath. "Wrath"/ὀργή/orgē/a state of anger that lasts and lasts, it will not go away. This anger will exact revenge on wickedness, punishment on the devil and his false crowd. We have been appointed to die. Death for the Christian is not an accident it is an appointment. However, we have not been appointed to God's wrath. See 1 Thess. 1:10. Jesus has delivered us from the wrath to come. Christians will not have to go through the tribulation, the time of Jacob's trouble. See Rev. 3:10. The Philadelphia church kept the Word, and the Lord says He will keep them from the hour of temptation that will come upon all the world. See John 16:33. We will have troubles in this life, but Jesus has overcome the world. These are "pressures" not the "wrath" of God. The bride of Jesus Christ will not be put through the tribulation. "Salvation"/σωτηρία/sōtēria/deliverance by the Lord Jesus Christ. "By"/διά/dia. We enjoy salvation because Jesus is the source and means of that salvation. "Obtain"/περιποίησις/peripoiēsis/purchased possession. See Eph. 1:12-14. God one day took Enoch to heaven. God took him in Gen. 5:24. After God raptured him, then came the flood. That is a picture of the church being taken out before the tribulation. "Died"/ἀποθνήσκω/apothnēskō. This means it happened, it is over with and will never happen again. "For"/ὑπέρ/huper. It can be defined as: for my sake, on my behalf, in my stead. We should have been nailed to the cross but Jesus took our places. "That"/ἵνα/hina. Jesus saved us so that He could come back and get us so we could live with Him for evermore. Whether we are alive or dead, we will live together with Him. Paul is readdressing the question the Thessalonians had at the end of chapter 4. Verse 10 parallels 1 Thess. 4:17. One repeats the other. Very often in Paul's writings, when he introduces the death of our Saviour, he will give a purpose for Jesus dying. See Gal. 1:4. He saved us from this present world and from the domination of sin. See Rom. 14:9. God is the God over the dead and the living. See 2 Cor. 5:15. God saved us so that we would live to please Him and not ourselves. See 2 Cor. 5:21. God made His Son to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus on the cross looked at us and said if we give Him our sins that He will give us His righteousness. "Verse 10 is the clearest declaration of the Gospel in the entire epistle of first Thessalonians". "Wherefore"/διό/dio/therefore. Jesus died that we might have the victory. "Comfort" can also mean to "encourage, entreat, uplift". God wants us to comfort ourselves together and edify one another. "Edify"/οἰκοδομέω/oikodomeō/to build a house. We have the right foundation as born again Christians. After salvation we are to grow, mature and advance. We should be built up in the Holy Ghost. The Bible will build you and do the right framing in your life. Edify and comfort are imperative verbs, they are commands. Don't tear one another down and discourage one another. These are two duties we should perform towards one another. This is a sure cure for backsliding. See Phil. 4:5. The Lord is at hand. Phenomenal study! Thank you for the time you put into these!
Yes what a joy to praise the Lord in spirit and truth! He is alive within me! We are never to be apart! Hallelujah 🙏❤️🙏
