Chris Ballard absolutely has to be gone. There's no way that he stays. He hasn't won the AFC South, the worst division in football. If he stays there should be a revolt
Chris Ballard constructed a very flawed football team. Just like Ryan Grigson, we drafted the wrong positions and made poor choices on top of that. We used to have the best offensive line in football, and now, it is simply pathetic. We put high value on pass rushers, but yet the back end of the defense simply can't cover. And don't get me started with Anthony richardson. The man had 13 college games in his life, and he could only complete 50% of his passes on that level. What makes you think you're going to step to the next level and start completing 60 to 65%? And obviously there's no one who can nurture him and bring him along because it's such an unhealthy culture. No pride, no accountability and rotten at every level. Everybody wants to call for Gus Bradley's head, but he can only play who he is given as a roster. Shane steichen makes horrendous play calls that don't even make any sense. And Chris Ballard has Simply Built a substandard team. The entire house needs to be cleaned
And to my point saying that Shane steichen makes horrific offensive calls, we were fourth and half a yard. But instead of giving the ball to Jonathan taylor, it's a designed run for Joe flacco, the 39-year-old quarterback. He didn't make it. Why in the world would you not give the ball to one of the best backs in the league. It's just dumb football
@richardbullwood5941 I agree with you totally. They should van Ballard and all the coaches. Get a new starting QB and start from the ground up. They can probability get Jaxson Dart in the second round. 5hey should get Kirk Cousins for 2 years and sit Dart behind him and let him learn. That or trade most everybody that has draft value and tank next year for Arch Manning. We aren't going anywhere with mediocre QB Plat from Richardson Eben with the best coach in the world.
I don't think Mr. Irasy is running the team anymore. I think his daughters are. That could be even worse. My opinion is Ballard is mediocre and is unable to get off his own philosophy of building from the draft. Last thing is defense, it has let this franchise down since Ballard has arrived.
I thought the same as you. Jim likes to win and not even hearing him says alot. I think if Ballard is fired than the should get rid of Stichen,Bradley, and find or draft a new starting QB. I like Jaxon Dart. They should stay away from these duel threat QB's as they won't win you a Superbowl. If they want to keep Stichen than they should keep Ballard and 4un it back without Bradley. I prefer a complete rebuild myself.
@chrisparson4542 Jim may like to win, but he isn't good at it. The ONLY consistently winning era in Indy was when he stepped aside, and Polian ran the organazation with Manning at QB. Jim was GM from 84-93 they made the playoffs once, and that was in the strike year when the scab players essentially got them in. He had a .351 winning percentage. In 94 Bill Tobin took over and in 95 they were back in the playoffs. Irsay is the problem, not the solution.
@Quinn37 Yes but he hired a capable GM and let him run things. That doesn't mean he likes to lose either. This is what good owners do. Hopefully he blows this up and starts fresh. That will show that he does indeed want ro win.

I've been saying for years As long as Chris Ballard is involved with the colts there is no hope. Ballard is mediocre Richardson is a bust he's a running quarterback that gets hurt running the ball. You think that'll get better with age?
Happy new year!! You're wrong though in my opinion about both points. Ballard has put together a good borderline quality product. It's not his job to develop talent nor get team ready to play. That's coaching. Richardson is not a scrambler he is a pocket guy. His decision making isn't bad. It's the system. Fire Stichen. Get Vreable
I always thought it was a terrible pick. He was a 2nd round at best. The history of "Running Quarterbacks" always ends with short seasons and early retirement.
I think Chris Ballard had a clear vision 1) Build a team through the draft, often trading back to add more picks. 2) Don't pay for over-priced FAs, only sign guys for depth, not starting positions 3) Use the salary cap to sign existing players that have been drafted to long-term contracts, don't let good players leave the organisation. That vision failed, it hasn't brought the level of success that everyone associated with the Colts hoped for or expected. So what next? Most people seem to agree that a change at GM is needed and introduce a new vision or strategy. I think we'll know very soon, as Irsay will likely make a decision at the end of the season. If no announcements are made this week, assume that Ballard will see out the remaining year of his contract. Then we'll see if Ballard makes any changes i.e. replacing Gus Bradley at DC. I don't think Ballard will change his approach to the draft, will just take what is available at the spot we have, probably in the 14 to 16th pick range. Injuries permitting, AR will be the Colts QB, but a solid backup to cover injuries and (hopefully not) poor play is a must.
@kerpow212 I'm not trying to slam your comment, but duh. Of course you want to build through the draft. But the important thing is, you have to make wise draft picks. And yes, you want to get free agents if the fit is correct and the money makes sense. And yes, you want to retain good players and let poor expensive players go. You're stating the obvious, but yet what's really obvious is even if the formula is a good one, the decisions that go into that formula have to be correct. You have to make good picks. Bernard Raimann is not a good left tackle. Ryan Kelly has been declining since his third year. Quinton Nelson is simply not the player he was before he got injured. And the best lineman on the right side of the offensive line is a guy that we let go and then signed back off the street. We have picked the wrong positions, picked the wrong people and have a rotten culture from the top down. And the assumption that Anthony Richardson is going to be our quarterback is iffy at best. I don't think he has the brain to be an NFL quarterback
Why does everyone like Steichen? His play calling is almost as bad as Frank’s. Run on 3rd and 8, pass on 3rd and 2. Thinks he’s out smarting everyone with terrible trick plays and lying to the media. He has no control over the locker room and said the hardest thing he ever had to do was benching AR. Please..I don’t think Dan Campbell would have a hard time bench a player that quits.
I was all in on AR, but when he didn't want to learn from Peyton I started to doubt. I have been a loyal Colts fan for 67 seasons and I will be here for season 68 ,but stop drafting for what might be and start drafting foootball players!
Anthony Richardson is the athletic Lonzo Ball of the NFL. He is not the guy, even healthy. Pocket QBs go deep in the playoffs and win rings, has been proven over n over n over again. Have to use your mind in the NFL, not just your body.
Seeing Richardson doing backward flips absolutely sickened me. I wonder if that is how he hurt his back. I was thinking how many years have it been since Manning and Luck....A once great franchise..... and now with a 22 year old man, no, sorry, a 22 year old going on about 15 based on the back flips. I hope he heals up, really I do. Then I expect when he plays against the Colts, he'll be a star.
Ballard is and has been the problem. We were so lucky to have Polian, I hated him fr the player resting going into the playoffs and hated that we didn’t keep Manning and let him retire here. Ballard has made some of the worst trades and picks that have crippled this franchise for years. I feel that this franchise is just here to make the money, put butts in seats with hype and keep the status quo.
Ballard is very good at filling out the roster but not very good at drafting stars and leaders. He relies tto much on the Psycholigy proflies, the athleticism rankings and stats. I think Ballard picks QBs based on what his ciaches want. Frank wanted Wentz, Siriani wanted Rivers, Steichen wanted AR, etc....
Pittman has a lot of his dad in him, he is tough and essentially a running back with good hands playing WR. He loves to run and isn't afraid of getting hit, more importantly he isn't injury prone like Richardson.
@@TheJamesbranhamThe problem with Richardson is that he is in the wrong position. He should either be a TE or he should have played basketball. He is not a pro QB and will never be.
I honestly wish that Buckner and Stewart didn't sign extensions. I love those guys and it's sad to see them waste their years on this trash organization. Without those two, our defensive line would be abysmal.
Manning and Luck probably covered over issues that have been in the organization for years. I mean Luck dragged the team to the AFC title game with a mediocre line and wr corps. If you look back to the early 2000s teams with Manning and Dungy they look absolutely stacked now in comparison. I don’t know what happened but something has to change
That luck afc title team was causally one of the sorriest colts teams in history but he was so good it was covered like you said. I miss our dungey days
Ballard would have been gone in most other organizations already. Way overdo. Bradley should go. Steichen probably. If you are going this route start new. Keep the players that you know have shown that they will give there all. The rest can under achieve somewhere else.
Keep in mind….with all of the Anthony Richardson drama, he still won twice as many games as Peyton Manning did in his rookie season. Everyone wants to blame Ballard but all he does is make great draft picks and keeps the Colts sitting good within the salary cap. Ballard is doing exactly what you want a General Manager to do but everyone wants to blame somebody! Ballard is NOT the problem and he cant be blamed for Andrew Luck retiring. Richardson played only 4 games as a rookie. Manning played all 16 games as a rookie. No comparison as to who was the better rookie, better leader, and certainly better QB.
Manning had a much worse team than Richardson. The thing is Manning made his teammates better and was a leader. Richardson is just a man child that should be traded for what they can get. Are the earsay girls talking to sacramento. Flacco was great with a little defense last week against the giants Joe would have had you in the playoffs.
Nice video. I do disagree with you in a few places. I have zero faith in Anthony Richardson. As a lifelong Colts fan and a football coach, you can't take an athlete and just teach him how to read defenses, process fast, throw accurately, and go through progressions. If that were the case, guys like Bo Jackson would be the greatest NFL QB ever. Richardson threw 8 TDs in 11 games started. That is horrid. I don't care how well he runs or how many he runs in. He is a QB and needs to win with his arm. He misses 5 yard passes by 5 yards. If they roll him out again next year without a serious competitor drafted or acquired, they have zero chance of winning. Secondly, i think they have much talent on their team. I hate it when it is said that Richardson just needs players around him. You talk about Andrew Luck, who I love as well. Luck had TY Hilton and an aged Reggie Wayne...and that was it. Horrid offensive line, no real TE, no real RB. Yet, he would put up 39 TD passes. Richardson has a good o-line, J Taylor, and three very capable WRs. Sure, TE is a weakspot, but his weapons are MUCH better than what Luck had to work with. Can you imagine what this team would be like offensively if Luck were the QB???? WOW!! Richardson will NEVER be in that league. My hope is they can get a guy like Kurtis Rourke or someone similar who has much starting experience, can read defensives, and his a THROWER first. And he will replace Richardson. Colts fans are so slow. Took em an extra 5-6 years to realize ballard was trash. Ive been calling for hoa head since the rivers offaeason. And then the wentz offseason. Its been a nightmare.
there's plenty of us who knew he was clueless when his priority was OL after Luck walked and subsequently has passed on several prospects at QB that had way more to offer than AR. He's been bad at this for some time now. Many noticed
Andrew Luck had the same kind of team that the Colts have had the last 4-5 years...He sacrificed his body and made up for inadequacy from the team. They waited too long to give him protection and wasted time n money on washed up vets instead..him retiring makes more sense now.
Colts lead the league in number of players who couldn't make the special olympics including the GM and all Coaches. Fire BALLARD and the whole coaching staff,,,,,,,never won crap.
You made me almost vomit with your tribute to Andrew Luck at the end of this video. He literally QUIT on this team. And don't give me any bullshit about injuries ruining his career. He had perhaps his best season ever and won comeback player of the year in 2018. He had clearly recovered from any football related injuries, and then he QUIT because of a calf strain (allegedly) that had nothing to do with football. Andrew Luck quit because he lacked the drive and passion it takes to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. He even said so himself, months after he retired. 🖕Andrew Luck.

I was with you until you said Andrew Luck is ….. Shame on you.
Wow, kinda show what type of person you are
