This is one of my favorite Gundams in the U.C. Era alongside the Full Armored ZZ Gundam. The design of it was almost like a giant robot police warrior with gatling guns and a Famas. A protector, a peacekeeper, a guardian of the space colony with it's own human name marked on its shield. Sadly, Alex bit the dust before it can be geared up with even bigger gear like a giant gatling cannon or a Hyper Bazooka.
the Alex was built to keep up with Amuro and used magnetic coated joints to do so (the 78-2 did get these and the RX-78-3 had them in place of the upgrade). The reason it lost against the Zaku Kai was because Chris didn't have any real combat experience and wasn't a new type (or at least as powerful as Amuro)
On the Gamecube "Pilot's Locus" game I remember Christina actually having the worst/one of the worst stats of all the pilots, yet she uses the highest stats suit. When you put a fully leveled up Amuro in a full leveled Alex it was f'king insane lol
Appropriate, considering that in-universe, the Alex was always meant to be given to White Base for Amuro to use. Christina was just the test pilot. That’s why she was only barely able to keep up Bernie’s Zaku in that last fight: the Alex was designed with Amuro’s Newtype reflexes in mind… reflexes that Christina, being an Oldtype, didn’t have. Man, could you imagine if Amuro DID get the Alex before A Baoa Qu, though? Between how powerful that Gundam was for its time, and how enraged he was after Lalah’s death, Char probably would’ve died then and there.
Maybe, maybe not. The ALEX was disabled on December 25th, the war ended on December 31st, so there may or may not have been time to get it over to White Base before the battle of A Baoa Qu.
@henritje19 theres also the fact she may have been more of a GM pilot who knows how different it is but still I wish that they would have another major female pilot that uses a gundam survives the series and is maybe a protaganist
She needs the training and tutelage of Amuro to make her a better pilot lol. Amuro: "Hey that's supposed to be my replacement for the RX-78-2 right? Give it to me and I'll show you how it's done!" Also given the fact that if the ALEX wasn't disabled somehow by the end of the series we would be left with a paradox since the ALEX would have shipped to Amuro before the finale of the original TV series, which we know that doesn't happen.
@AKASUKIJOE Morris from the 08th MS team mentioned the Gundam pilots differently then GM considering the small difference between a RGM-79[G] and RX-79[G] makes the difference between any GM and a experimental Gundam even bigger. on the other hand she did do allot of VR training.
@AKASUKIJOE the Alex has less armor then a regular gundam maybe if she piloted it in FA or a RX-78-1/2 she might have won. then again the Zaku Kai might have been more powerful then a regular Zaku II (if I remember correctly the Kai was a modified version of a regular Zaku only given to Zeon special forces)
Don't suppose you could redo this video and make it longer still along with a few others similar to this one in length? Please? I can't seem to find this energetic catchy theme elsewhere with this quality.
Don't get me wrong she is a dynamite lady as a character and probably a damn amazing pilot (The alex is a monster of a unit after all) but I just think her tie or loss however you count it to a Zaku was kinda sad I feel she deserves a bit more credit as an ace and a bit more respect is all
well gundam itself use gundarium alloy as it material when GM use more conventional metal though for operation itself dosent seems so diffrent since kou even though he suck can adapt preety well in GP01 even though he was not the initial test pilot for the unit which make other grunt unit pilot (zaku or GM) and dont forget Alex trample on Kampfer easily and kampfer IS more advance than Zaku kai Fz and piloted by Cyclops team which one elite team. well kudos for barnie i think XD

fortunately it was reborn as the Tristan and kicked some ass in late UC. A shame its HG is kind of trash

Bernard was killed, she lived. It was a victory alright but a costly one, still it's not like her injuries wouldn't have fully healed sooner or later.

@nineballmk2 I agree it was a draw, since the zaku was totally wrecked while most of the gundam was still intact

makes you wonder what if master asia trained her...sure it would take a while but that would probably make chris to strong for the alex.
