(MA1) I get razzed all the time because I write with a sharpie on the top of my discs, 100-200, 150-250, 250-300 etc. I have 3 run-up types: A single sideways step, a slow smooth x-step, and a fast x-step. I know each disc's distance potential for those 3 run-ups. I subtract 50 feet for uphill and add 50 feet for downhill generally. I'm trying to land at the pin every time unless there's wind then I'm trying to land where I think I'll have a downwind putt. I've done the work in the field on flat ground with no wind to get the baseline distances for each of my discs so it helps me when I get to a course I don't know I can pull out the perfect disc with confidence, then all I have to do is execute the throw as best I can. By breaking down my game into 5 discs and 3 throw types I minimize variables and get great results. I carry 5 more discs that are special circumstances discs, extra beefy or extra flippy. My most accurate game happens between 50-75% power. Yeah, I can throw my putter 250' at near max power, or my pathfinder there with 75%, but I can butter a crave there with 50% and land in the circle every time. Hope this helps someone
Brother man I promise you, off the tee, I am never concerned about going long. I would love to have that problem. I hear you and agree on approach/putting falling short gets to be annoying, and it does get old dropping in for bogey when par would have been possible had the shot had a little more pepper on it.
This is great! I've worked a lot on distance the best several months and went from about 290 max to 380 max, but because I can throw further than I used to I have the tenancy to disc down too much. This is a good lesson. Just because I can/should be able to get a putter or mid there doesn't mean that's always the best option.
"Know your discs" is great advice. People consistently overestimate their spike-hyzer distance. If you don't get that release angle to at least 45 degrees or more, it's just a hyzer.
You make my day a whole lot better after working for 12 hours and wanting to decompress. Thank you or being awesome Robbie! Stay Frosty! P.S has anyone mentioned that your voice would be perfect for a soft talk A.S.M.R?? Just food for thought.
Yeah, I hear and see a decent amount of people picking a disc they can throw at maximum exactly the holes distance If your max throw is the exact distance of the hole you would need a perfect throw... and you still won't reach it because field work and course distance is different I like to pick 1 step above so that I don't have to get full power and the perfect throw to reach the basket
Hey Robbie, greetings from Germany. ITC is Inside the Circle - a german disc golf store that seems to have partnered up with Gateway. Just to let you know. Keep up the good Videos!
such a good topic. Funny b/c yesterday at Hole 2 on my home course, my tee shot was long of the basket (a rare first sighting). Huh? I said to myself. This is a new position. Doink. Missed birdie putt. Not unusual. But on that hole, long is better bc short brings the guardian trees into play.
Everybody should try a Spear. It’s becoming my favorite golf line distance disc…it could be too understable for lower altitude though, haven’t thrown it under 5k feet. Diablo is also a cool firebird type disc, but I like the firebird better. Hemp is my favorite putter plastic from them, but pure white also feels outstanding. I’m glad they’re pushing discs to channels more.
Lunar Voodoo FTW! That's my putter, it's so great. Edit: I'm kind of surprised that you find it so much different from a Wizard. It feels just like a beat in Wizard to me.
Please do a video about the Rollo. It's a perfect discs for kids who can't get off throwing a hyzer. Plus it's a great roller disc. I absolutely love this disc.
Some people don't jump put at all That is the beauty of the sport, you can develop a scoober, precise touchy shots... or even just a more powerful normal putt Find something that works for you then develop that
@@bilboswaggingswell said I am one of those non jump putters just never felt right so I worked on a longer spin putt to try and help offset that “jump putt” distance
i also power grip everything but putts. would love if you walked with me in a tourney if youre ever in pittsburgh during a tourney im probably playing so hit me up and wen can talk about my ma4 tourney
You never ask how Im doing, but its ok. I want you to know today was the best day of my life, Robbie! :D
What made it so wonferful? Happy to hear it!!
Every day is the best day of my life, brother! But I appreciate you asking! @@RobbieCDiscgolf
Thank you for giving the Warspear some love. My favorite disc in my bag.
Helped me a lot when I took all my disks and recorded how far I can throw them. Some of the best advice I could give past me
For push putting the Gateway Magic is gold.
Thanks for the video Robbie. The only Gateway disc I have ever touched is the Spear (9,6,-2,1) and I like it a lot.
I really enjoy this type of video Robbie.

Ayyyye! I’m a team gateway member and I’m very excited for your thoughts!!
YAY!!! Tuesday with Coach Robbie C!!!
I really like the Warlock oevr the Wizard. I have a couple in Pure White and that plastic is just fantastic.

I absolutely love my Hemp Shaman from Gateway ❤
Great stuff Robbie and thank you so much for the channel shout out. I really appreciate it.
Warrior. Warrior. Warrior.

Love the bag! I have the same one and I’ve had it for over a year now mostly got it bc of the price and it’s treated me very well.

I’m a big believer in the Devil Hawk. For forehand upshot’s, it is fantastic…reliably over stable.

Love the AGL Acacia! Would love to see you try some more AGL.
I like the element. I bought a stack of them on sale and use them to new players.
I wonder how many of Bradley Williams new Nexus Halo Pigs Robbie will be purchasing.
That’s a really beautiful park
realm is soooooo good
Would like to know how we can shot around with u doing a video?
Any got a source for tips on jump putting and when and how to do it. Feels awkward as hell to me.

Try the straddle jump a la Kevin Jones
@bilboswaggings cool. I am generally pretty accurate from about 40 to 100 foot or so at a standstill. Come up short at longer approaches occasionally
JASPER GAAANNNG!
Nice shirt
Happy Halo pig release date day!!!
Robbie!!!! There's a Bradley Williams Halo Nexus Pig 🐖 dropping!!!!!
Warlock > wizard
Warlock = literally an aviar
Wizard = beaded aviar (more or less)
Both are great. Love gateway plastic
Love them both, but these new Retro Warlocks might be the best putter ever.
Coming from a veteran Minecrafter, it's pronounced "Uhh-cay-sha."
Also, it's an AGL disc approved in July, 2023.
The Acacia is incredible - it's an ace machine!
Chattahoochee Pointe Park shootout wow
🎉
i also power grip everything but putts. would love if you walked with me in a tourney if youre ever in pittsburgh during a tourney im probably playing so hit me up and wen can talk about my ma4 tourney
I have no forehand so no option but the turnover😢
Ive been a voo doo putter for 2 years but i think after today i am a pixel putter! 😢
I'm doing good Robbie how are you? haha
40 feet past the basket or 40 feet short, its still the same putt lol id rather be long
Alright bro, no more laying up
Noooo, I thought "Jaspering" was a term from the past...
Uh-Kay-shuh. Acacia. Say it with me: uh-Kay-shuh. Acacia. noice topic and vid. 😀
