Some caveats with Bloody Mess: -If you do the 3 Card Bounty Quest, bloody mess will make it very difficult to earn the full rewards since Bloody Mess will often times pulp the heads of the fiends you need to kill. -This perk is god-tier in Dead Money since you will naturally dismember Ghost People, meaning you don't need to rely on Dog to eat ghosts or waste an extra bullet/keep a bear trap fist handy for them.
Light touch + Ulysses armor + Boone's beret stacks for a nasty +15 to crit chance. Additionally, you can wear the elite riot gear helmet and the beret at the same time which other than looking pretty funny adds 6 DT, +2 to perception and the sneak sight.
You know, i hate how they made crit builds all about light armor/no armor. When i'm using, say, a gatling laser, it just doesn't feel right to do it without power armor, but light touch punishes you for wearing power armor.
I was just thinking the quick draw perk would actually work really well if New Vegas was like the older Fallout games. Where before you had to have your weapon holstered around lots of people, or if you wanted to talk to them. It still wouldn't matter a ton but it'd save you lots of health potentially getting your shot off first, especially if you or the enemy had a high damage weapon. It'd fit New Vegas's western theme too, having to be the fastest gun in town
It does fit with the western theme, but for practical uses it is a little limited. Most of the time it is better to just shoot someone in the back before they have a chance to draw there gun. You also tend to be faster then the NPCs in the game anyway.
@@ReapeeRon You're neglecting that quick draw affects ALL weapon switching. That includes switching from a weapon to a grenade. Or switching between your pistol and shotgun. Typically people have more than 1 weapon they use in combat.
Light touch, does work on clothing. Light touch system uses a list of what "isn't affected." so it essentially stops working if you wear an armor from that list which is full of medium and heavy armor.
That makes sense, that is how I thought it worked but I wasn't sure if that was how it worked or not. Most of the time I am just using light armor. Or the Naughty Nightware for the extra luck.

I just wanted to say that the light touch and grunt perks, Boone’s beret, Grahams armor and A Light… pistol is a great early combo you can get very quickly and will last you a while. Play through the early game normally and do Boones quest for the beret and when you get to Vegas for the first time do Honest Hearts. Great armor and crit chance with a great gun that will make good use of that crit chance.
@@zachlewis9751 it isn't. I believe if people know, they get grahams armor first then hit the divide later and get Ulysses duster. Pretty easy to get grahams armor tho and is amazing when ya under level 35-40 ish. I'm not a big fan of the elite riot gear but it's still really good as well.
Light touch is good for the sierra madre because you can only get light armor plus although its an exploit you can take it as an extra perk when you leave goodsprings
If what i read from the wiki is correct light touch also works with the elite riot armors from lonesome road even though its not light armor due to not being added to the list of armors that disable light touch when worn, though testing 5% crit chance is kinda hard to do

One thing to note light touch and laser commander crit chance is additive after every other calculation meaning it is better for low crit chance weapons since it gives a flat increase instead of being multiplied.
I miss games like this with flavor and things to do. There could be more even in NV but still is very solid game and many people will find very their way of playing it. Perks in this game are example of good thought out approach towards players experience.
Pack Rat+ Mad Bomber+ the microfusion cells from Repconn HQ, you can get over 150 MFC grenades early game and still have plenty of carrying capacity left. It will be more than enough until you'll get better stuff from Boomers, Van Graffs or the Gun Runners or get the proper skills for a fully viable expolsive build (MFC grenades have low strenght and expolsives requirements and do fairly low self damage even without proper armor).
If you use ANY reloadable projectile, the best early perk by miles is Rapid Reload. If using crits at all, the best early perk is Light Touch. If neither of those apply, its probably a toss-up between Travel Light and the gendered perks with 10% damage to male NPCs depending on how much you value speed versus how good you are with headshots and this how useful 10% damage to half the enemies will be.
"and stay back" is just flat out broken. nothing can stand in your way when you can ragdoll your enemies indefinitely as long as you have ammo to throw at them (which you'll have because the game is piss easy).

Yeah I just stopped taking them after like 6 playthroughs. Especially Super Slam!, since it often just knocks an enemy away out of reach for your last strike and occasionally will send the body out of reach unable to be looted.
@@galdersrontgorrth hell it's busted with pretty much every shotgun except the single shotgun and sawed off. Pretty much any other with at least 4 shots in the mag is plenty.
@@Psychonautical89 depends on the difficulty. with a riot shotgun you can clear out dead wind cavern on the highest difficulty no problem. pretty sure other shotties are too slow since the deathclaws kill you in 1-3 hits (depending on your level, armor and endurance). and this area is where the most deathclaw swarm you at once (usually the whole pack comes once you fire a single shot).
And Stay Back is maybe the most busted perk in the entire game, I never take it anymore when I play since it just trivializes too much of the game when using shotguns.
I always watch these types of videos (guides and tips/tricks for new players) despite having a couple thousand hours in fallout 3 and new vegas combined
I already owned Fallout NV on steam and I recently started playing it again on Epic Games. And interesting enough, the game runs better on Epic than when I had it on Steam
For me better experience (I tested Steam and GOG only) was GOG version, I guess it's because of Steam requiring use of launcher and GOG version having no copy protection (which probably slows game a bit, expecially heavily modded/unofficially patched).

5:05 Ulysses duster, Boone's recon hat and boom that is 8+ crit chance. Make a crit bulid, use Christine's COS silenced sniper, Graham's 45, and automatic rifle with handloader for JSP 308 and SUPR 45. Stupid damage and Graham's 45 is a carry holdout weapon too so it can be snuck into casinos.
Spoilers: The Epic Games version of New Vegas is an inferior copy of the game. Aside from having all the issues the regular New Vegas has that the modding community has fixed over the years, it is missing content that can be found on every other digital store's New Vegas Ultimate Edition. It also requires patching be done to the Epic Launcher to allow you to do any modding (including necessary bugfixes and performance enhancements).
As nice as that armour is, sold it when it kept using up all my med-x and also using stimpacks when I didn't want to. Would like it more if you could turn off that function, I like using stimpacks as a last resort.
I love bloody mess but sometimes it makes looting vaguely annoying. Like I kill 8 people in a small room with a super sledge but then differentiating between the bodies is really hard when they are all just body parts strewn around the room
Assuming you are doing a practical playthrough, IE pissing off legion because their hit squads carry some good weapons, the sex perks are quite good for it.
Can we get a video on inventory management? I’ve played through multiple times(with a couple being over 10 years ago somehow), but I am now trying out hardcore and struggling limiting what I am carrying.

Depends on the built. probably want to use the companions as pack mules at the start. Use the package Dropboxs to your advantage. Novac is good like that, easy enough to get a base for storage and items to be delivered to. I always used the bins around goodsprings by the work benches for storage. Don't need to carry alot with an unarmed or melee built. Strong back is great for extra storage but pack rat is superb for carrying large amount of ammo. Long term aim for jury rigging which will cut another chuck out of inventory management and will add value to what you are selling. Big problem is at the start when you want the caps and you haul everything and sell everything, you really got to ask yourself is it really worth it. Does it have value, is it worth the money and do you need it (like the 20th food item for personal use) . You can spend a lot of time hauling and selling at the start of the game and you might be better off asking yourself do you want to be hauling or playing the game and advancing through the levels etc. alternatively do Dead money or even honest hearts early in the game. Buy whatever you need with the Gold and travel light. Honest hearts has some very High value armor and weapons which will which will set you up nicely on 2 or 3 trips back and selling them.
Don't feel bad, it crashes often on epic and most mods aren't supported through epic. I played a couple hours for free, then went and bought it on steam and molded in all the extra memory and crash fix mods lol.

Ulysses duster is better than graham's armor 5 vs 3 for crit chance. I found out the hard way.

It is really strong even more so with the Riot Shotgun.
I only use if on a Cowboy build that use Level Action Shotgun
