Super Impressed with this video. If you're wanting something to make ... just look at Pressure Cooker meals, making sure that you have more water than normal. Roasts? pot roast for sure, don't forget the oven bags if you have issues with dry meats.
Concerning the conversion - I never knew that stuff, seriously thankyou for showing me this. It is really important for Thermal cooking and the other info. That was good. It seems that you are using the thermal cooker mostly as a "warmer" ... still I'm not dissuaded and I will continue my search for information on this style. When you talked about Lasagne, I kept thinking why are you not cooking this in the cooker? I love lasagne and I see the problems. I will try to make this first.

Thank you! I am so glad that you found this information useful! Thermal cooking does get used often as a warmer but can also be used for cooking. It depends on what your making. I have more information coming out in the future. Thank you for posting I love hearing from you and hearing what you think. Cindy

I love your work. I have been doing hay box cooking over 40 years. When I was 12 some old timers in New England taught me. I would never have bought a cooker as I do it all the time, it's a great back up in solar cooking when clouds roll in.
I just bought your hope sack mostly because of the work you do with my indigenous ilk in Mexico, also that hope sack is pretty.
I'm now just referring people to your teaching videos. Thank you.

@@letsmakesenseofthermalcook6324 love my hope sack, I live off grid in the north woods of Maine. I use it nearly every day, I put 2 thermos of hot water in it for coffee or tea, it stays so hot. wliwni wji k'laloka wlalamekw8gon (Abenaki)

@@mayamachine You are using your HopeSaC more than I am using mine. :) The HopeSaC does keep things very hot. It was one of the best thermal cookers I tested. The best test was when it was full of Mexican Pinto beans - It only lost 2 1/2 degrees per hour. I hadn't thought of using it for coffee And tea! What a great idea!

Good morning! I've found you! I've been interested in finding out more about Thermal Cooking! There's so little info out there... This is a wonderful style of cooking. I'm so excited about this style. I have been cooking with a pressure cooker for such a long time. I've converted many recipes to and for Pressure Cooking. I'm about to embark on my next big adventure. I've sold my home and I'm about to move into a motorhome and live in it while travelling around my gorgeous country. I had initially planned to take my pressure cooker (electric), but off-grid living was a problem when I use it... electricity hungry LOL. So I thought to just cook in caravan parks and store the food in cryovac packs in the freezer. But I was reticent. Space is a premium and I always won't be living on a powered site. THEN I found about this!! Thermal Cooking! It is perfect for me!! I will use my pressure cooker recipes - they will work just the same - and instead of eating in 20mins, wait several hours! IKR.

I got a Thermal Pot for Christmas. This is after discovering it about 2years ago. I tried to do some research on different pots. I chose SUNPENTOWN. Is there anyone familiar with this particular cooker?

I haven't used a Sunpentown cooker. Once you know how well your cooker holds heat you can adapt what you are making to that amount of time and make almost anything in your cooker. Also take the size of your cooker into consideration. If it is a 7 liter cooker many of the recipes I have available would work in your cooker as that is the size I use very often.

Cooking for one or two people can be a bit tricky. There are two main options that I turn to. The first is to meal prep. I prepare a dish, when it is ready eat enough for one meal and then divide the others up to eat later. The second is to use containers. The dish and amount I want to eat is put into containers, I like to use mason jars, they are put into the pot surrounded by water and brought to a boil. The boiling time is determined by the size of the jars. Then placed into the insulated unit until I am ready to eat. More information on these techniques can be found in the Let's Make Sense of Thermal Cooking Cookbook and www.thermalcooking.net
