Great video. Remember fishing off the breakwater at Dover and people would pull out 20+lb cod and (I think, ling). They were taller than me! Probably bugger all now.
I don't think I would be able to fish there James it would cost me a fortune!! my favourite treat is the Ice-cream van just near the harbour gate well put it this way I wouldn't go home hungry, the best whippy there is🥰🥰
Oh yeah, Hes been there for decades, its a gold mine. Hes the only one who really knows what its worth, so he wins the bids for the site every year. His ice cream is bloody lovely
Great point (pardon the pun ) regarding hook size and deep hooking. It is surprising how big a bait and hook a small fish can take in. For a year now, I have only used 2/0 circle hooks. Not had a deep hooked fish on these hooks. All lip hooked. Be well and be safe Paul
I love your channel, I’ve spent a lot of my life fishing the spots you feature, for various reasons I don’t get the chance now, it’s almost as if I’m there, both on the rivers and on the shore keep it up, the netting is not dissimilar to the pilchard drift netting we used to do off Penzance and Newlyn in the summer evenings. I miss it all. My infrequent trips to the uk don’t allow me the time to frequent the broads area and the wonderful beaches.
@ thanks many fond memories of riverside bungalows at potter heigham repps and Martham when my parents could afford it latterly fished all over the broads area, it’s good to see the fishing making a comeback and the interest in The ecology
@@davemunden8489 sounds like a great childhood. The bream and silverfish are doing well on the rivers. The bream are virtually gone on the trinity broads, and the pike numbers are a fraction of what they were all over thanks to our furry friends, but you cant do anything about it, so you just have to enjoy what you have!
@ we used to fish in front of the water treatment plant on rollesby I think it was, when you could hire a boat loads of bream then. Keep up the good work I will be an avid fan
@ yes, used to be loads of pike that side too. Hardly a bream on there now, such a shame. Used to row out and dump 20kg brown crumb and fish it over night. Used to bag up
@beanysfishing2555 trawlers and greed and bad management. Norway has cod but they managed their fisherys and probably fished everyone else like their tank boats do in Ireland. The EU is a disaster for fishing. In the US there is a 200 mile limit for salmon fishing and a control on inshore fishing no quarter given boats inside 200 mile are confisgated and crew sent home. Thats the way it should be. In Ireland we have a bunch of Numpties lickin EU ass .
It's nice to pull some fish in but they need to be better ones, it gets boring when they are small. Shame they had to dump that fertilizer at sea, spread tons of that stuff on crops.
Yes, shame there werent some better fish there, but you can only catch whats there. I believe it was contaminated with sea water. The original ship had a damaged hull

Yes, the cod days are over unfortunately. Water is too warm now

Hahhaha it’s frowned upon now unfortunately.
Thanks Beany i enjoyed this fish fest mate.
Cheers mate, Im glad you did
James it must be time for a catch & cook that whiting a nice fish cake supper 🎅
hahaha I gave them 2 to my dad. You need a few decent sized ones to do anything with them
That’s a great tip about using 2/0 hooks to protect the small fish from getting hooked too deep. Looks like it worked a treat.
Yes, it saves a lot of deep hooking, but you still catch small fish I

We don’t realise what we have because we see it everyday. It must bring back some good memories for you

Caught plenty of bass here in the summer, 50 odd cm ones
I should have got down there. Better fishing than on my boat!
That spot can produce some good fish at times , I've had a trout there couple of years ago
Yes, there is plenty of feed on the bottom there. You did well to catch a sea trout, there isnt many about anymore
bloody seals Beany lol
Hahaha it’s part & parcel here now, loads of them
@@beanysfishing2555 I thought that black one coming up on the beach I’m sure he was wearing one of your hoodies 😜😜😜😂😂😂

Is there no cod there at night
No, cod vanished years ago in any numbers. Now only a handful are caught every month
