    Cracking video once again Mike setting the standard for automotive integrity and honesty. The Mazda rotary world has been dealing with this issue for years now. CNC machining, 3D printing, and additive manufacturing is our only hope against the chosen ones battling climate change in their 100M super yachts and Gulfstream G650's!

    Great video. I've owned many Astons and Jags. Loved that super V8 engine. No chance of me buying an EV in future or another Jag now sadly. It will be 'classics' for me only now.

    Thanks for sharing and appreciate you fighting the good fight. As a Canadian, the threat of these potential policies are indeed worrying, especially if you consider that govts wouldn’t have to even pull the cars off the road but instead apply a carbon tax to ownership which becomes enormous over time. This is already happening in many small countries in order to disincentive driving due to congestion as is the case in Singapore for instance.

    Interesting video, thanks. I was thinking about joining MAG having seen a video on their lobbying regarding the proposed ban on ICE motorcycles, you've convinced me to sign up today.

    No, they want ALL cars/private transport off the roads and everyone living in 15 MINUTE CITIES. Wake up people.

      15mins cities for our children. 1mins cities for their children. 10ft rooms for the ones who make it after that

    Mike. My everyday bus is a 2017 Range Rover Vogue. One of the EGR valves has failed, and they've been on back order from JLR for ages with no sign of supply. Luckily the engine mgmt fault light on the dash can be extinguished long enough to pass MOT! Very poor show!

    I don’t think the legislation will be the catalyst to this. As you say, as manufacturers go full EV, parts supply for ICE vehicles will dry up. Specialists like BR can do a lot, but it’s the complex electronics in post 1990 cars and the IP rights being held by the manufacturers that will prevent you creating E.G. replacement ECU’s /PTEC etc. The Bentley Arnage you mentioned is an early example of this. However, if you own a simple 70’s or prior Classic with carbs and points etc, specialists will be able to keep them running provided not prohibited by legislation. I have far more confidence driving my 1968 car into the future than my Noughties classics.

      Exactly my thoughts, the more ECU's its got, the less is viable to keep

    The great lie is that internal combustion has been made synonymous with fossil fuel.
    I will miss F-Type, I worked on the thermal attribute from 14MY to 18MY. And now find myself stuck in a industry that has left me behind. The hell scape of BEV where the infotainment is more important than the drivetrain character.
    What I foresee will happen is; you may not be able to buy the parts aftermarket or OE to repair your Aston or Jaguar, however given the huge premiums involved the likes of Works and Heritage will be offer "restoration" services at the very top end of the market.

    I also heard they government will change the mot equipment to make older cars un MOT able , in other words the test equipment won’t be compatible with older car , no MOT then the car is unusable

    • @djsyxx
      @djsyxx 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Rubbish. That won't happen. Cars that are over 40 years old on a rolling basis are exempt from testing. MOTs will still be done.

    Have a Morgan and DB9 and wonder how long both companies will survive post ICE age, need clean fuels for ICE engines, those motor companies that hang back on changeover will benefit on possibly technology providing the answer. In the UK the infrastructure cannot cope with just EV’s. Parts will be a problem and mechanics post ICE will have to become engineers again to mend and fix parts, being innovative just like 3rd world mechanics

    Can you explain how AML gets around the 22% of cars manufactured in 2024 must be electric or fines will be imposed.

    I can well imagine that governments would like ICE vehicles off the road to meet their low emissions targets. Let's enjoy them while we can and see what the future holds. I was considering a Tesla but bought an old C63 instead!
