I have an AA in natural sciences, but managed to work my way up from being a lab technician into becoming a microbiologist all the while being bullied by my coworkers for 6 years because i didnt have a bachelors of science in biology. I finally quit my job and came back to school to get a more formal education in microbiology. Dont give up on yourself because you lack the proper credientials for something. Believe in yourself and be curious enough to do what you actually enjoy. Always looke up at the stars and not down at your feet. There is always something you can do and be good at. Dont give up.
Very wonderful, thank you! Btw, "animalcules" was what the English Royal Society dubbed his "diertjes," his word in Dutch for "little animals." Those scientists loved Latin and it was a kind of Latin-based invented word. I think Diertjes is a much more endearing word! Also, one site says he did publish - "Antonie van Leeuvenhoek published a similar book (like Hooke's) for the general reader, entitled Arcana Naturae Detecta-1695 (in Latin) [3], which was designed to educate the public about his microscopic observations he submitted at regular intervals in the form of letters to the Royal Society in London (UK). ...this comprehensive volume (600 pages), [was given] the popular title “Nature’s Mysteries Disclosed”,
I guess it is a person who utilizes scientific method while doing research on variety of subjects. That means doing well-documented experiments/observations and repeating them to reduce effect of chance on them.

How do you define a “scientist”? Anyone can be a scientist.
I guess it is a person who utilizes scientific method while doing research on variety of subjects. That means doing well-documented experiments/observations and repeating them to reduce effect of chance on them.
His occupation was tailor in Delft, the Netherlands.
