I just got the new game Oceans (from the creators of Evolution) and love it. It’s a great light-medium weight game with a nautical and almost fantasy looking theme, so my boxes are super checked. My wife is a nurse so this will not only fit her like a surgical glove but it seems to be about the same weight so now I’ve got Dice Hospital on my short list for games to buy. Thanks again, Tom! 👍👍
During the unboxing, I was afraid the round marker disk just sat on the board and it seems that it unfortunately does. However, the game looks great. Looking forward to trying this one out.
I like the look of this and the difficulty of the game. I like games that are easy to teach but get deep once you are rolling. Except that I have spent too much time visiting a hospital recently....
my biggest gripe with the game, and unfortunately its a pretty big deal for me.. like Tom said every does there stuff at the same time and its fun and exciting but you kinda forget other people are there and your pretty much just doing your own thing.. Its a really solid game though and its so frustrating
Played this at UKGE and really liked it. The problem is, like others have asked, there's no player interaction. You just do your own thing. As Tom said, it's best if everyone does the turn simultaneously. However, theres a good chance players will make mistakes which will give them an advantage or disadvantage. Everyone would need to have played a couple of turns/games first to ensure they know the rules. Which won't work well if your gaming group consists of many. Really wanted to buy this and went into the demo game with the expectation I would. However seeing how it played and knowing how our gaming group works, I knew it wouldn't work for us.
Interesting and unique. I like dice games like this. Sold! Now if I can only save up some more money. Great review as always Tom. I'll be getting my hands on Blueprints soon enough. I've been waiting eons to get it. So hard to find (in english) at a decent price.
I tried this at UKBGE and it was pretty good. Nice and puzzley but not too complex and it seemed to have a decent amount of customisation for each playthrough.
Pandemic The Cure (inthink thats what its called)... how does it compare in general in terms of complexity, choices, strategy, family-friendly...? Both look neeto. The Cure looks just slightly nicer because it has custom dice but it may be too complicated for family-time. I dunno...
"Patients are asked not to die in the corridors, thank you"
Yes. We don’t want them… Rolling … over in their graves (or the morgue in this case).
Theme hospital forever
"Attention! Don't feed the ghosts, they're dead. Thank you!"
Getting more points by having a few patients stay in the hospital a while longer... That's actually kinda realistic.
It is in privatized healthcare systems where $$ is the main focus.

This game is truly chilling, specially if you're older and know all these spaces from experience

I see what you mean. It should've been a dial.
Fairly easy to fix though I would think 🙂

is there any player interaction at all?
Other than denial, no.

I love this game and think it's very underrated on BGG.
This just got added to board game arena! Thanks for the review/rules!
That is exactly why I am watching this
On box art is Dr. Jennifer Yap Antony.

Why is there an ad for Dice Tower West on March 6-10 2018? That date has passed.
Can't find it anywhere in the US. How long will it be available to US Customers?
CoolStuffInc currently has it in stock
@@TheStarletStitcher Ended up grabbing it on Miniature Market
You had me at solitaire play.

Nice review. Thanks.
Mike Nudd, designer of Waggle Dance, another excellent dice game.
I wanted that game but the price tag was ridiculous
I love waggle dance
"Lemme just skip the random event cards", why?
Aaaawww no custom dice.
Where would one buy this game?
Not sure, but two can wait for the retail release
Any game store will be able to order this for you.
You should find it in stores early next month, backers should get theirs in about 3 weeks.
I hope none of the patients...die.
I'm surprised Tom didn't say this at some point ;P
Bravo
This game reminds me of Roll player.
I'm glad it's a good game but I wish it had been awful just so he could say "Dice Tower judgment: Dead On Arrival"
Seems kinda misleading to put "Dice" in the name of the game, since dice are used mostly as value trackers, similar to Teotihuacan. Pass for now.
looks like there is zero interactivity with other players so in essence this is a fancy solitaire game.
nurses became patients...
Too bad that in the real world, more people are leaving the hospital before "6."
