I have grown to really enjoy Gary Cole as Parker. He has been a breath of fresh air with his more relaxed method of leadership and shows appreciation of the skills and attributes of his team members. That having been said, Gibbs will always be welcome to visit any darn time he wants to. He is missed and so great!
I'm perfectly happy with the way the show works now. Gary Cole is absolutely a "breathe of fresh air". He's not surly or a sour puss, which is what Gibbs turned into. In the beginning, he was a 'womanizer' and charmer, remember all those different woman he had picking him up.... then he turned into a bitter man. Okay, it was the story line but it was hard to take most times. Leave it alone.............

Maybe since David McCollum has passed, they'll do an episode for a Memorial Service for Ducky & have all the agents come back for a bittersweet reunion to honor Ducky . They could include Tony & Ziva w their daughter, Talli & Dinozzo Sr., Abby, Bishop, Sloane & of course, Gibbs.

Gary Cole/ Parker has been doing a great job , 1 of the few shows to replace characters that have all been good replacements, 5 new people since the start
Long in the tooth? He’s 71, not 90…. I’m pretty sure he still has the stamina to play his part.
Gibbs is well past the retirement age for NCIS agents which is 57 because even if he was born in 1958 he would be over 60.
Well he does a pretty small amount of stunts as he is the leader and the stunts have many takes for taking breaths

I used to love NCIS but with people leaving i started to miss episodes, Denozo and Ziva was amazing and i really missed Denozo. When Abby left i was really reluctant to keep watching but now Gibbs has left i wont come back, too much change is bad lol. Gibbs was awesome.

How many know Mark Harmon was the winning QB in the Rose Bowl years ago? I have never watched NCIS and have no idea what it is about, but I've seen him in a few movies he's been in.
Mark Harmon played QB for UCLA in 1972-1973. He went 17-5 and undrafted. He didn't play in the Rose Bowl. 1972 was the Stanford Indians, who also won in 1971. 1973 was the USC Trojans, who appeared in the next three. I watched Mark Harmon play and am a fan of Stanford.
I've been binge-watching NCIS on dvd, catching up on everything and everyone. Just started watching Season 16 last night. Abby's gone and Kasey has not yet started working at NCIS. I'm just waiting for Season 20 to come out on dvd.
And I think that the ONLY way that Gibbs would return, storyline wise is if Parker, McGee, and Torres are working a case that somehow also connects back to Gibbs and McGee is seriously injured or is missing in connection with the case. And Gibbs somehow hears about it.
It's still a great show, I miss Gibbs but life goes on. He will come back if he wants to until them I like Agent Parker! It's still a great team!!
I would love to see him come back in an episode or two but he’s getting a little long in the tooth so he may not have the energy that is needed to do stunts and I don’t blame him. He’s a fantastic actor I miss him in the show.

I'm European, and we often see lead actors on 'cop shows' basically becoming irrealistic because they are starting to show their age.
There was one not so long ago, where the writers had to somehow find a way to let the lead character pass his physical fitness test, because it became quite clear a police officer in his 'condition' would've long since been parked behind a desk. A wee bit like David McCallum, i.e. Dr Mallard, is now NCIS official historian.
There are lots of other examples. Gibbs was starting to approach the stage, whether he was a popular character or not is therefore becoming less relevant.
I don't think Gibbs chasing a bad guy in his wheelchair in episode 10 of series 31 would've worked. There are limits to what you can get away with.
I say bring Gibbs, Tony, Ziva, Ducky, Abby, palmer and McGee as LL in one final season. Now, that I would watch

Tony couldn't come back. He was under contract with his show Bull, now that, that show is done he can now come back. Wich he already said he was going to do.

If he returns it would most likely be for a memorial show for Ducky (David McCallum). I can't see how the show could not do such a memorial show and how could Gibbs not be there for Ducky?

Over the years all of the characters have taken on "Gibbsisms" such a Rule #9. The Gibbs character played so well by Harmon, is still present in every episode (all but physically). Write Gibbs back in and let "Parker" assume Weatherly's slot.

My biggest issue with NCIS is they give the impression that cops or agents who have a gun pointed at them are supposed to wait for the bad guy to shoot before they can shoot. Survival doesn’t work that way
Because in real life it comes down to how it sounds in court and they all know that and is even part of their training. Especially today are you kidding me. A black man holds a gun on me a white man and I blow him away I will be all over the TV being called a racist when what a low percentage of people actually congratulate my survival. The world is fucked up for real and is only going to get worse. You can't even gun down a mfer for killing or raping your daughter without flack. Mark Harmon had been 'phoning it in' for a long time and it was a relief when he left. You could tell he didn't want to be there. Gibbs character would storm in, demand results and leave. I'm glad he left and hope he does not return.

If you want to be technical, Sean Murray is not even actually original; he came in season one about the 6th episode. However, I get what you mean: he's as pretty close to original as it gets.

The only way it'll happen, is if a Marine is murdered in Alaska and the agents doesn't even realize the possibility of them seeing Gibbs again, as he'd be able to help out during the investigation, since he's a highly trained -suspended- federal agent, a trained sniper and a carpender both in the series and irl, meaning he's got an eye for detail, which I suspect is a must for full-time carpenters. He'd be of big help for the team during the case, and I also really really really really want more McLilah scenes. And show us the twins! Where is McGee's sister, Sarah?! Why was she only in 4 episodes?! I miss her, because Troian Bellisario is the real life _step-sister_ of _Sean Murray_ so them portraying blood siblings on the show is hilariously logical!

I wouldn't mind him coming back for a visit; I think that would be cool. However; Gary Parker is doing a really good job him leaving, imo , would be a stupid move at this point.
I am a huge NCIS fan. I've seen characters come and go. I miss Tony and Diva. I would love to see Tony, Diva and Tali return for a episode or two. There's one fan favorite that I'm glad left the show. I know alot of other fans will not agree with me, but I'm glad Abby Sciuto is gone. I loved Abby in the first season. But but the end of the second season, she had morphed into a little girl. Season 1, Abby was a street smart and was nobodies fool. By season 3, she was an immature little girl working in a government laboratory. I hated when Breena Palmer was killed off. She was very easy on the eyes.
