ok fun fact. the voice actor of Steg and the voice actress of opal are actualy a duo in their own band, which is why independent together worked so well
the songs drift away and everything stays (from adventure time) were both written about a toy that rebecca sugar accidentally left in her garden and found again years later. one from their point of view and the other from the pov of the toy

there are two things I want to point out about Spinel.
While the whole story of SU was going on, she was standing in the garden.
Like... re-watching the show episode one and you just think "Spinel is waiting for Pink in the garden, not knowing she's gone."
The other thing: for a Gem to permanently change their appearance they have to be poofed and reform in the new form they chose.
Which means between finding out that pink is gone and arriving on earth, Spinel must've been poofed.
She poofed of heartache
I love the idea of her "poofing of heartache" but it's actually possible for gems' forms to permanently change without being poofed, like after a traumatic event, for example, volleyball's eye (pink's old pearl that got taken away).
@@prrrismowhile you are right, it's been confirmed that she poofed when she was in the garden! Either from just poofing from heartbreak like suggested above, or trying to shatter herself- :(

I mean, she was both but she got better in the end
I mean she was going destroy the Earth, and KILL Steven with her own hands. A tragic backstory can't justify her horrible actions but that also doesn't mean she isn't allowed to change which is what I love about Steven Universe.

Everyone tries to defend Pink by saying she couldn't come back to the garden because the galaxy warp was damaged but she could've used the legs to get there.
Freaking fantastic movie. Some of the best songs, and a great bridge between the original show and Future. Yeah, there are a few things that don't quite work, but overall its so good. My favorite song is "Independent Together." It's my favorite SU song over all too!
This Movie made Spinel 1 of my favorite Characters i love watching Au's if she was a Crystal Gem

people keep saying pink is a villain but thats just oversimplifying the character and its such a pet peeve of mine. 'Rose bad' was such a overused argument, thought people would stop saying that sort of thing
She generally doesnt think of others/how her actions affect them(Rebecca Sugar said that… And also that she is pretty much bad news)
She may not be the Villain… but she wasnt a good person😭💀
Even if what she wanted/did was “for good”… she still didnt think of how the war she started and the double life she led and secrets she kept would affect those around her
