Just finished making this to wear when im biking to and from work/classes this winter! Turned out amazing! I used flannel cut on the bias instead of lycra and its a bit of a squeeze to get it on, but fits perfectly when it’s on! Love how simple and direct your tutorial was, and already planning on making more!

Just sewed one and your tutorial worked great. Especially loved the tip about using the zipper foot at the end; that made a difference for me, letting me get closer to that edge we're aiming for at that point. It turned out great except I made each piece just two inches longer to begin with. THANK YOU!
I literally snorted out loud when you made the "quack quack" sound for the "backwards C!" Such a great tutorial, and what cut spot, I didn't see no cut spot? :D
Thanks for the video!! Is it possible to just add on the length of the tabs to the outer fabric instead of making them separate pieces with the tabs? Hope that makes sense 🤣
I’ve seen that asked before and it’s not clicking in my brain yet. The reason I add the tabs is because if you fold the Sherpa it’s really thick and hard to fold/sew. The tabs make it work for domestic machines.

I love your tutorial, I've made a bunch of these already. However, I can't seem to get the measurements right..I took the child measurements and a baby sized band came out, any idea what I could be doing wrong?
Hi! You want to cut it selvage to selvage (assuming that there is stretch when you pull it that way). Usually your pattern is oriented correctly that way. Let me know if that isn’t what you meant by your question.
Thank you!!!! Question... I make these normally (without Sherpa) but use a zigzag stitch to attach the sides. This is the way I learned from a different tutorial. Do you think a straight stitch is ok for this? I was told it won't stretch as much as a zig zag... I'm still a beginner, so not sure if it matters? Thanks!!!
Great question! I only recommend a straight stitch to make the twist (the final stitch). Along the sides you want to use a zigzag or a stretch stitch. I wish I could post a photo of a straight stitch! If you Google it, the symbol looks like three stitches parallel to each other. When you choose this, the machine goes forward two stitches and back once (all in a straight line - not parallel). So it looks straight but allows the fabric to stretch.
@@CharmingCheek I believe you are referring to the STRETCH stitch - - some machines, it looks like an extra dash above an equal sign ( = ) ...so it has 3 horizontal or 3 vertical dashes. Great pattern, Thank you!!!

Nope! I tried it and it doesn’t work. And to be honest, it lies better inside the knot when the material can spread out a bit.

Does it work with cotton woven instead of Lycra?
If you were to cut on the bias it may work. I’ve been pondering how to use elastic to make my cotton woven goodies work with these, too!

About 1/4”. It’s a very forgiving pattern so it does not have to be as precise as some.
