Woohoo! I feel lucky and honored to have made it to the finals! My sneaky pick for doing really well would be James (Jimmy) Boydell. I got to talking with him (before and afterwards) and I think he could get more down. His work was super clean and looked really nice. Just the fact of you putting this video together gets me juiced for the competition. I'm amazed I'm being mentioned 3500 miles away! Thanks for making this video Tony, cheers mate!
Thanks for the good feedback , was good to chat after the final mate appreciate the words. Not made me nervous at all saying I’m going for the top 3! See you in a few months 💪🧱
Obviously with more time in the final they will lay more bricks. Will they get more time to joint up? Seems like a number were struggling to point up what they laid. I think in the USA comp they toss a coin to pick a side to point. Agree that pick and dip is quicker but it leaves a harder job pointing. A lot of brickies around who clap themselves on the back for firing a pile of bricks in, but then walk away and leave the poor old apprentice to fill in all the holes they've left. I'm impressed in how strict the judges are in regards penalties. Seems like the Mahoney lad will have to brush up on his finishing skills if he is to get anywhere near Collison. The amount of deductions he had was shocking.
I think they get longer to joint up in the final, like you said a longer wall and more time would indicate there would be more time for jointing. Deductions pretty strict, I know the Super Trowel lads want to keep the quality high. I think the mortar has to be just right for pick n dip, especially if you want full joints
Nice one tone...would like to have seen tricky n Kurt Malpas in the heats from what I've seen on TH-cam...I'm going for Phil from philly ...have to with a name like that
Good video tone . I think that’s a German type trowel he’s using . Have a look in the jung Henkelman catalog they have most if not all of the mainland European type trowels .
I think Charlie will take some stopping hes quick and neat to but ash mahoney wont be far away but i think the American guy will push Charlie to so its one of them 🧱👌
@@Tone_Team Yeah sure will but would thought that was obvious 1. Spec mix get bricks up on boards also. Save that back. Noticed the boys from super trowel was across at the event 🤙
Charlie Collison will be the man on top at the end of the day.

😂 Phil from Philly does have a nice ring to it 🇺🇸 going to be really competitive this year, really looking forward to it 🧱🤓
Evan will win 🥇 💯 %
He will certainly be up there
Run a double line and run 2 courses at the same time.
Most people run a double line but not necessarily two courses at a time. Most do rear side first then front course
Charlie all the way.
He will take some beating but I think it will be closer than last year and deductions will play a big part in deciding the winner

Thanks mate, I'll check it out. I think you are right. I'll ask Andy from Bricklayers World, nothing he doesn't know about trowels
Yea its a German Rhineland Trowel.
@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 that’s the one Andy trowel no 629 In the jung henkelman catalog Düsseldorf/ Rhineland trowel
@@brickbybric 👍👍
Americain lad and mahoney have good go but charlie will do it
Both Phil and Ash were petty rapid. I think Phil will be fast after this experience

Evan will be right up there too
Don’t why the hell
There is not 2 course block down like spec mix
I’m sure things will evolve and develop over the years and things like this will be adjusted or modified
