I've never paid so close attention to a youtube in my life. Mary-kate and ashely honestly have my heart. They shaped my childhood and all I want is a friend to watch and talk about these movies with
The Olsen twins fandom is a phase that I often worry would get lost in time cause all those movies just straight up don’t exist outside of DVD or VHS form, but it’s great to see the stans are still going strong, so thanks for making this video!! Cheers from a fellow Mary-Kate ✨
Eliza Glascott Winning London is god tier for me. It had the most solid plot and character development. Plus my tween self swooned over the British guy love interest. Cutest MK & A guy.
This video hit so hard. None of my friends watched these movies or listened to Vanessa Hudgens in 2006! So this was extremely satisfying. Passport to Paris was my favorite!
New York Minute was fantastic! Saw it as a French girl who didn't know the Olsen twins because I had no TV. The film rocks! I love the relooking in the salon !
The Mary-Kate and Ashley cinematic universe is an interesting place… I also remember being confused at why they chose the same names (Chloe and Riley) in Winning London but just flipped the casting. They also have casted some of the same love interests in multiple movies. Another thing I noticed was a trend for a couple of movies is that Ashley’s characters’ names would begin with A, and Mary-Kate’s would begin with M. Would have been cool if they had kept that going!
I watched the show so much, I’ll always think of Ashley when I hear the name Chloe and MK when I hear the name Riley. Love Winning London but the name flip choice was so confusing!
Love how all the former lovers from the previous movies made an unexpected appearance at the end of The Challenge. That made me excited and seeing Brocker Way!
Also- regarding names in Winning London- MK&A liked the names so much from Winning London they wanted to keep the names for So Little Time but so people didn’t think SLT was connected to Winning London they switched who had what name. At least that was what was posted when SLT came out.
My favorite is It Takes Two. It's a classic to me and adults can enjoy it. I was obsessed with them and I would watch their marathon movies on TV all the time. After its Passport to Paris.
I would've left Passport to Paris in Gold Star and moved Holiday in the Sun to Say Ok simply for the fact that the movie felt off after the smuggling/ pirate scenes. It was a dark contrast to the fun they were having
I actually love When in Rome! 🇮🇹 It definitely is one of my fave MK&A movies, it's very nostalgic to me and I'm Italian so I guess that's why😂 Holiday in the Sun is a close second, I absolutely love the outfits and soundtrack! Our lips are Sealed was super cute, again love the fashion, and Getting There I love because I feel like it was different than any other movie they made!
Okay but WHERE are you watching theseeeee. I can only find 3 on Hulu, and I wanna rewatch Our Lips Are Sealed and Winning London again !!!! But also wanna rewatch all of them, so if anyone has a link to all of them, hit me wit it
To grandmothers house we go is my fave, it’s a big film with lots of nostalgia and memories for me and my sister. We used to quote it so much! Plus everyone forgets this one
This video is so iconic, the ranking is everything. It's everything I needed. I bought Holiday in the Sun on VHS with all the pocket money I saved up. That's why it will always hit God tier for me.
This is a video we didn’t all know that we needed. I love u ALLY 😭😍 These films were EVERYTHING for me & was the #1 thing that inspired me to travel! (Also I 100% agree with your rankings - but I’d also put the challenge in gold star)
yes girl!!! when i travelled to europe with friends in 2014 my facebook photo albums were called "passport to paris" / "when in rome" / "winning london" (and "the cheetah girls 2" for barcelona haha) i respect your pick with the challenge !
I was OBSESSED with the Olsen twins as a kid! I would rewatch these movies all the time! Ranking them would be so hard for me because I love them all and would have to rewatch all of them to make a fair decision! But I do remember, I would have marathons and watch each movie in their respective age order lol! But this is my new favorite video on the internet! Thanks Ally!
Do you know which movie or film it was where they went into this like ghost house, I watched it when I was really little, but it was like a white house... I can't find it anywhere
Growing up the Mary-Kate and Ashley movies were some of the only things my older sister and I could watch together without fighting over what to watch 🤣
I'm pretty sure Holiday in the Sun came out the same year I went to the Bahamas with my family and visited the Atlantis hotel (but didn't actually stay there, just hung around), so when this film came out I was like omg it was like it was made for me.
Passport to Paris had a lot going on in it. Learning culture, spending time with their grandfather, touching on the environment (that water plot thing?), city adventures with respectful guys, and even the adults had one of the better B plots compared to other movies (their chaperone and model friend romance, their grandfather). Even at the end, they show the girls have grown away from wanting to "go to the mall" with those American guys they used to like by turning them down.
I was OBSESSED with How the West was Fun as a child, so I am personally offended by that ranking, and Double Double Toil and Trouble was my Hocus Pocus before I liked Hocus Pocus, but otherwise, I generally agree.
Okay you just took me on a blast to the past and I wish i still had my vcr videos of all these movies and my Mary Kate and Ashley dolls 😭 But definitely gotta rewatch these asap!!
Click 11:18 if you came here for Jeff Stinco !!!!! One day or so , I will love for you do a tier list ranking of all of Jeff Stinco 's solo music from the 90s , because he was so iconic back in the days . Major thankies ;)
I agree with most of this, except I would have the god tier list as It Takes Two, To Grandmother's House We Go, and Double Double Toil and Trouble, all for the same reasons of 1. they're extremely nostalgic for me and 2. watching them as an adult made me realize that they had a lot of actually really edgy/sometimes even dark adult humor and themes like, It Takes Two was a lot more about Roger and Diane than I remembered, and also a lot about being an orphan and child services and damn, some scenes in that aspect especially really hit, like how at one point Amanda is almost accepting of how she thinks she's never going to get adopted because she isn't young enough, which is unfortunately still true, most people who adopt, adopt infants or toddlers. In It Takes Two was also a couple that was actually running a scheme where they adopted kids to use them for free manual labor. Fucked up. As for TGHWG and DDTAT (these are long titles, sue me), those movies had some especially dark shit. In DDTAT, you've got the parents deep in debt and about to straight up be homeless with two kids, you've got the aunt being cruel and refusing to help them, a character who is a grave digger, a mentioned witch who was *burned at the stake*, agatha using magic to trap her sister in a fucking mirror world for decades where she's left alone to basically lose her mind and rot there, also the parents straight up say something along the lines of "if sophia was around, she'd help us" which prompts the search for sophia but if agatha had given them the loan, would sophia have been looked for? most likely not. And then at the end, agatha gets locked in the mirror world forever, like, some legit dark themes in this one TGHWG has more adult themes and adult humor, like one of the scenes in the beginning of the movie where the mother is genuinely tired of her kids and says so, like these are some bad kids who cause endless havoc for their mother and feel guilt when they overhear how tired they've made her, enough to not pretend run away, but actually run away in order to give their mom a break from them. And obviously, the kids get legit kidnapped and held hostage for ransom. Then the mother, having no other choice, has to commit mail fraud by stealing and pawning christmas presents that eddie's supposed to be delivering in order to come up with the 10,000 dollar ransom in order to save her children from kidnappers. Shit is fucked up. Also, the kidnappers aren't even portrayed as black and white bad guys, they're portrayed as individuals trying to survive, the guy asks the lady why they've never had kids, because they actually really like the twins and the twins actually like them and honestly if they weren't criminals, they'd make decent parents. There's also a scene where the twins are on a carriage ride where they would've actually plummeted to their death off a cliff if eddie hadn't saved them. Also, all three movies had several swear words, even at times spoken by the children. So yeah, these three movies just had a lot more edge to them than the later movies, I guess bc anything goes in 90's kids films, and so for that + nostalgia they're my favorite on god tier level
I just discovered your channel today, after a very hectic week, and it is everything I didn't know I needed in my life. Also, yes. This is in fact one of the most crucial TH-cam videos of our time. The world NEEDS this. Thank you for making me laugh and feel nostalgic!
Love this, never watched video so intently, the challenge, it takes two and holiday in the sun definitely top for me. I love that I understood all your references and clearly like alot of the same shows 😊 now have the urge to rewatch these movies.
Your hair looks amaaaaazing! Ooooft starting strong with Holiday in the Sun, absolute vibe and one of my all time fave movies, I got it on VHS for one of my birthdays and watched it a billion times. Your Olsen twin knowledge is so impressive haha
dude it's actually a worry i can't do math but i can quote word-for-word a scene when ashley walks up to a greyhound bus station deli and says "two turkey subs please"
I love when the algorithm is so specific theta you are a fellow one tree hiller 💜💜 I love when you reference the show in your vids bc I grew up where OTH was filmed !!
Actually the best video ever!!! Passport To Paris makes me think of that photo you and Kara took in the headsets 😍 Also petition for ranking HSM songs 😘
I am *obsessed* with your videos 💖 This one especially means so much to me because it makes me so happy to see there are other people out there who are as obsessed with MK&A as I am 🥰 I'm about to go rewatch all of these so I can make a more informed decision but right now I'd have to say Passport to Paris and The Challenge are my God Tier movies!
Wow this was such a nostalgic video I remember being so excited to rent these movies from the video shop. Getting there and NY minute where my favourites. I’d love to see you do more tier videos
This is very hard and controversial! It generally comes down to nostalgia, plot, and clothes. For me, God Tier is ITT, PTP, OLAS. Gold star is BBD, HITS, and maybe WL. The bottom categories I definitely agree.
Every few months i fall back into my Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen rabbit hole of wanting to watch all of their movies and since i can’t find any on streaming services this made my day. Even though i think The Challenge should’ve been at least gold star level. But growing up I loved Ashley but now after watching this I truly am a Mary-Kate
this was amazing omg pls do ur top 5 so little time eps! one of the top ones for me is the one with the quote 'for you, i smoked you a ham' lol AND what about two of a kind, now THAT show was iconic. i downloaded all the episodes onto my ipod nano and am now pissed i didnt keep it
i'm currently texting with a friend about these shows!! SLT was her favourite but i livedddd for TOAK. mary-kate in that was my style icon 😍 and now i just want carrie's job because she had a dream life. or Manuelo's!!!
Agree with many of these rankings! BTW It Takes Two was in theaters, too - it wasn’t just New York Minute. For me, Passport to Paris is at the top - by far the best of their travel movies. I also really like the ones from when they were little, but agree that those are less relatable now. The storylines and acting were better in Double, Double and To Grandmother’s than in most of their teenage films IMO. Surprised you didn’t mention Jesse Spencer starring in Winning London (which I agree was very meh).
Omg I loved this video! 😍 "Holiday in the Sun" and "Getting There" were probably my favorites growing up....I was definitely more of an "Ashely" and I totally need to rewatch some of these movies like "The Challenge" and "Winning London" because I can't remember much about it but I loved all their films and used to be obsessed with their tv show "So Little Time" and all their books and their outfits....ahh those were the days 😂❤️ and of course "It Takes Two" was iconic and a classic 👌👌
I am disturbed that you moved Passport to Paris! Outfits, secondary characters, travel, background music, teen heart-throbs, plot, quotable, ICONIC! God tier for me.
My sister and I were OBSESSED with mary-kate and ashley as kids. I always related more to mary-kate and my sister was ashley. Mary-Kate's character in Switching Goals actually has the same first and last name as me!
Love this!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 My gold tier would be Getting There (it introduced me to skiing, Vegas 🤩 and greyhound busses 😂), Holiday in the Sun (who wouldn’t want to stay at Atlantis in the Bahamas 🏝) and The Challenge because of the ending 😂
I didn't realise how much I needed this in my life 🙌 the nostalgia hitting hard... those purple cased vhs tapes💜 now I need to go watch them all and I don't know where to find them😭😭
omggg i love this!! holiday in the sun and the challenge deserved better though :( i'm totally a ashley girl + ashley ALWAYS had the cuter boys in every movie!!!!!
i'm v impressed with this solid ranking. HOWEVER, holiday in the sun deserves to be on top next to her fellow gods, it takes two and new york minute. i don't make the rules haha
This is a great video! How the west was fun was actually filmed in Canada! More specifically, the Rockies in Alberta. The in city shots were shot where I live, in Calgary. I also can’t recall any details in the movie haha but I know it’s close to home.
15:07 it sound crazy, but they are the same individuals in diferent realities. its one of many misteries in the secret MK ASH Multiverse Lore. in Getting There, their surenames are the same as their characters in Holliday in the sun if im not mistaken, "Hunt". and speaking about Holliday in the Sun, they have the power of share dreams, just like in Our Lips are Sealed. my theory is that they did some real Jet li´s "the one" kinda Multiverse. it began in the court of Our Lips Are sealed when the world froze arround the witnesses. " this would have been a very happy ending.. and a very short movie.." that is NOT another meta-joke, it must be a Time-shift. when they Broke the fourth wall like that, they ended up messing with space time.
I love MK&A growing up. My favorites are It Takes Two and Passport to Paris. My twin sis and I dressed similar outfit when Amanda and Alyssa first meet in It Takes Two. It is my favorite Olsen twins movie!!! Love the Ghost scene, and the nerd running the wrong way! Also the food fight scene!! I have It Takes Two, Passport to Paris, When In Rome on VHS, It Takes Two I have on DVD.
"when Miranda has an eating disorder for like...25 minutes" xD i just watched that episode i agree with god tier but the challenge def was super up there for me bc i just loved mary kates character. - i truly am a type A person but mary-kate was my favorite growing up and fit with who i was as a child (or maybe i tried to force it lol- i remember i messed up my closet on purpose to make it look like hers in new york minute and purposely messed my hair up lol)
It’s cool to see someone else’s perspective of which MK&A movies they watched most growing up, so I understand why you put things in their categories based on that, HOWEVER… Passport to Paris is GOD TIER!!! Also up there for me because these are the ones I owned - Winning London, Holiday in the Sun, Double Double. All of them made me want to go to those places / be a child witch - the moOoOnstone 💚 Also I’m def a Mary-Kate too
To grandmothers house we go is iconic. I never watched their movies tons as kid, the only two i watched growing up was to grandmothers house we go and it takes two
I think this is the most important video on youtube
you might be right...
agreed!!!
Kate S yes
When I saw it I never clicked so fast
It really is tho
There needs to be a MK&A streaming service! I haven't seen some of these movies in years bc I can't find them
iTunes have them
@@tammiepage6489 nooooooooo they just took some off 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
These are the kind of movies to get a DVD/Blu-ray player for. You can barely find them online, but if you have the DVDs you have them forever.
I completely agree!
Yesss!!!! I loved these movies growing up and I would love to rewatch them over again and again
I've never paid so close attention to a youtube in my life. Mary-kate and ashely honestly have my heart. They shaped my childhood and all I want is a friend to watch and talk about these movies with
Same lol
@freak bitch Freaking YES to the worldwide sleepover for the mk&a movies!!! It would be such a blast to relive these childhood movies again.
The Challenge deserves a gold star ranking and nothing you can say could convince me otherwise
convince me!!!
That movie changed me as a person
Let's be real: It Takes Two is a cinematic masterpiece soooo...THANK YOU FOR UPHOLDING THAT.
I am an it takes two stan first. Human being second.
I am so late but It Takes Two was released in theaters!
Yes.
The Olsen twins fandom is a phase that I often worry would get lost in time cause all those movies just straight up don’t exist outside of DVD or VHS form, but it’s great to see the stans are still going strong, so thanks for making this video!! Cheers from a fellow Mary-Kate ✨
the ranking system has me ROLLING
PLEASE DON'T TELL LOUIS I FEEL SO BAD
the winning london ranking broke my heart :( that movie invented international relations!!
true but didn't they all??
i think there was too much secondhand embarrassment/cringieness from that guy with the camera :((
Eliza Glascott Winning London is god tier for me. It had the most solid plot and character development. Plus my tween self swooned over the British guy love interest. Cutest MK & A guy.
Winning London is the only Olsen film I'm looking up rn as I'm watching this video
"Winning London is in my top three of Olsen movies". It's so underrated.
It takes two is probably the best out of all of them, however, my top 3 favorites are Holiday in the Sun, Passport to Paris, and Winning London.
I love the relooking in the salon !
aww i used to watch Full House in Spanish in Mexico as a kid!! MK&A are universal
“I wish I was an orphan, it looks like they’re having so much fun”. I almost choked on my water.
I respect and agree with your choices.
a 100% approval? it's what she deserves
The Mary-Kate and Ashley cinematic universe is an interesting place… I also remember being confused at why they chose the same names (Chloe and Riley) in Winning London but just flipped the casting. That song ONLY reminds me of Holiday in the Sun
you need to brush up on your lizzie mcguire
Love how all the former lovers from the previous movies made an unexpected appearance at the end of The Challenge. That made me excited and seeing Brocker Way!
You should rank the “you’re invited” and “adventures of” videos that Mary Kate and Ashley did.
Gina LeBeau yessss
their mystery solving books and show were everything!
Ally Sheehan I’m collecting two of a kind books! So far I have the first one
these are the ones i watched 😭😭😭
Also the tv shows, “two of a kind” and “so little time”, those were good too
Ally I have an assignment due in the morning that is nowhere NEAR done but I dropped everything to watch this because it is SO IMPORTANT
THANK YOU GIRLY I HOPE THAT IT INSPIRES YOU WITH YOUR ASSIGNMENT! CHANNEL YOUR INNER JANE RYAN !!
Also- regarding names in Winning London- MK&A liked the names so much from Winning London they wanted to keep the names for So Little Time but so people didn’t think SLT was connected to Winning London they switched who had what name. At least that was what was posted when SLT came out.

Ally Sheehan oh my gosh that’s genius!! when I get back to Europe I’m stealing your idea
This has made me want to watch every single Mary-Kate & Ashley movie again now 🥺🥰 my absolute CHILDHOOD!
you absolutely must !!! they should make a streaming service for dualstar like netflix or disney plus
Ally Sheehan omg YES! That is exactly what we all need in our lives!!!

Omg I think the challenge is actually my favourite. This is really inspiring me to rewatch all of the movies to find out 😂
so much love for the challenge in these comments, i love to see it!!! it deserves your top spot for that last scene alone honestly

0:20 👁👄👁 me who hasn’t seen a single Mary Kate and Ashley movie and is now questioning why on earth I am watching this video
I’d love to see you do more tier videos
i can still HEAR the Dualstar opening sound when you pop the VHS in 😢
Winning London is my absolute favorite MKA movie, but other than that, I agree with your rankings 100%
Please do more tier videos! This was so fun to watch
what would you like me to rank!
It takes two had a big screen release
you're right and that's why it deserves top tier!!
Love this !! And yes I used to read all the Two of a Kind books as a kid I loved them 😂
the two of a kind DIARIES were next level good 😩
This is very hard and controversial!
But growing up I loved Ashley but now after watching this I truly am a Mary-Kate
this was amazing omg
pls do ur top 5 so little time eps! one of the top ones for me is the one with the quote 'for you, i smoked you a ham' lol
AND what about two of a kind, now THAT show was iconic. i downloaded all the episodes onto my ipod nano and am now pissed i didnt keep it
i'm currently texting with a friend about these shows!!
God tier for me.
i think ten years ago me would agree but the others have stronger holds in my heart now!
When I hear that song 2:15 I think of choreographing dances to the whole album with my friends. The group is called Play!
My sister and I were OBSESSED with mary-kate and ashley as kids. I always related more to mary-kate and my sister was ashley. Mary-Kate's character in Switching Goals actually has the same first and last name as me!
Oh man how the west was fun was clutch! I was obsessed with the small toy trains and the native americans lessons and tent!
i may need to revisit it!
You think about the line “Roxy, did you eat this man’s chips?” A lot while I think a lot about the line “everyone has a hobby - you’re mine”
omg BYYYYYEEE that line
It Takes Two and Passport to Paris are god tier. Glad Our Lips are Sealed was bumped up. This video was everything!
Ally you did a great job ranking 👏 👍 all of Mary-Kate & Ashley's videos!!
I was so obsessed with these movies when I was younger, this brought back some feels! also the dutch subtitles with The Challenge bit threw me off lol
Also my friend in highschool used to always say 'Jordan you're wanted in the marine pool' from Holiday in the sun, because my name is Jordan LOL
JordanSweetN hahaahahhahahahahahh
Ryan Clark (Pete) is now a lifeguard at Bondi Beach and is on Bondi Rescue (tv show)
Your videos give me life ❤ This was the nostalgia I needed today
how the west was fun was one of my faaaav mk&a movie. i watched it SO many times at my grandmas 😭💗
hmm okay maybe i need to revisit!
@@AllySheehan Yes, you should! It's pretty good.
@@AllySheehan yeah I think you snubbed it
The Challenge was one of my favourites too! The last scene was so iconic my 12 year old self was shook😂
I didn't realise how much I needed this in my life 🙌 the nostalgia hitting hard... those purple cased vhs tapes💜 now I need to go watch them all and I don't know where to find them😭😭
Katie Walsh Murphy I can still hear the Dualstar intro 🥰
omggg i love this!!
holiday in the sun and the challenge deserved better though :( i'm totally a ashley girl + ashley ALWAYS had the cuter boys in every movie!!!!!
now that i think about it..... you're literally so right about ashley??? MK's boys were always such duds!!!
i'm v impressed with this solid ranking. HOWEVER, holiday in the sun deserves to be on top next to her fellow gods, it takes two and new york minute. i don't make the rules haha
i honestly almost agree !! it just isnt QUITE as nostalgic to me but its' definitely the best of the gold star tier
This is a great video! How the west was fun was actually filmed in Canada! More specifically, the Rockies in Alberta. The in city shots were shot where I live, in Calgary. I also can’t recall any details in the movie haha but I know it’s close to home.
I love New York Minute so much ❤
Such a good movie
This is incredible- the video I never knew I needed haha
hahah same honestly
I love MK&A growing up. My favorites are It Takes Two and Passport to Paris. My twin sis and I dressed similar outfit when Amanda and Alyssa first meet in It Takes Two. It is my favorite Olsen twins movie!!! Love the Ghost scene, and the nerd running the wrong way! Also the food fight scene!! I have It Takes Two, Passport to Paris, When In Rome on VHS, It Takes Two I have on DVD.
"when Miranda has an eating disorder for like...25 minutes" xD i just watched that episode
i agree with god tier but the challenge def was super up there for me bc i just loved mary kates character.
All of them made me want to go to those places / be a child witch - the moOoOnstone 💚
Also I’m def a Mary-Kate too
I freakin LOVED Our Lips Are Sealed + Holiday In The Sun the most. They stick out in the brain first when I think of Mary Kate and Ashley movies!!
It Takes Two did have a cinema release as well!!
To grandmothers house we go is iconic. I never watched their movies tons as kid, the only two i watched growing up was to grandmothers house we go and it takes two
it takes two is the best movie of all time!
