- The “Three Rules of Discipline and Eight Points for Attention” is a military doctrine of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army since 1928.
The Three Main Rules of Discipline:
• Obey orders in all your actions (一切行動聽指揮)
• Do not take a single needle or piece of thread from the masses (不拿群眾一針一線)
• Turn in everything captured (一切繳獲要歸公)
The Eight Points for Attention:
• Speak politely (說話和氣)
• Pay fairly for what you buy (買賣公平)
• Return everything you borrow (借東西要還)
• Pay for anything you damage (損壞東西要賠償)
• Do not hit or swear at people (不打人罵人)
• Do not damage crops (不損壞莊稼)
• Do not take liberties with women (不調戲婦女)
• Do not ill-treat captives (不虐待俘虜)

三大纪律八项注意在共产军建军时由毛泽东提出。
稍候在三湾改编时，毛泽东又提出军队建立在军事民主，官兵平等的基础制度上。由政治部贯穿基层连队保障制度和军纪的执行。
这是几千年来中国各军队第一次提出并坚守官兵平等，军事民主并立法保护平民的军队。在共产军之前，岳家军，戚家军有类似规定，但都是私军，不普及到全国。
只可惜共产军没有普及国家军队的概念，而是一只党军。不是真正来自于人民，服务于人民的人民军。

Both countries became powers after losing nearly 4% of their population. Same thing happened during the Reconquista, the French Revolution, the Second World War, etc.

Slavery was just an excuse, the main reason was the difference between the industrial production of the North and the Southern agrarism, do you really believe the black people got free after the war? They didn't.

内战时比起国民党来说，确实做到了。钱理群在一本书里曾回忆道49年上海解放前，国民党伤军四处搜刮百姓，共产党来了后伤兵为了不骚扰百姓就睡在街上。这个让我印象很深刻。共产党之所以能取得最后的胜利，就是凭着对每一个人的统一指挥，充分动员。但这也在建国后带来了巨大的灾难，荼毒至今。
