Really? I was complaining about the dumb things people did on screen for the whole damn movie. I thought that was happening alot alot more in this movie than the first tbh
I agree and disagree with you. The movie was not boring to me. I really enjoyed the slow moments and watching it from her perspective. She doesn’t intend to survive. And he being scared and getting panic attacks was very realistic. He prob wouldn’t have survived without her. I don’t think it was scary but I still felt the tension. I didn’t expect the cat to die, but I wasn’t sure who would die first, him or her, or both. Also, I would have liked to see a bit of a learning curve about them learning they needed to stay quiet. Just 10 extra minutes would have been fine. I agree, the first two were better but this one is not bad! And I want to rewatch it. I may be biased because I love Lupita and Joseph lol.
Cloverfield is amazing. I only saw 2 and 3 and they're both great. Not sure if the Cloverfield brand would boost ticket sales though as the franchise is doing amazing as its own thing.
Okay but are there any aliens and fights with the military. I don't want the whole run-time to just be couple people acting scared in silence. The first one was mostly suspense thriller and 2 was more aliens and action packed. It's hard to top that.
@@jonfreeman9682 Why do we need to see that though. Like I understand it would of been cool to see but I liked what we got. A movie doesn't have to be action packed to be good.
Gotta disagree. Though I wish it had done more, and I think it couldn’t because its budget wasn’t large enough…I personally thought it was great. Not nearly as good as the first two, but not even close to being boring.
@@WeWatchedAMovie your expectation from a 67 million dollar movie is like it's budgeted at 200 million dollars 😂. This movie was not as great as it's predecessors but was a good entertainer if not compared to the previous two. 👍
So you're saying it's not bad but not as good as first two. But is it worth the price of a 🎫 to see in cinema? I'm a sucker for creature features but it's gotta be half decent. I saw a Nicholas Cage knockoff called Arcadian... same concept but nowhere near the budget.
This movie was boring. Cinematography and acting were great but chasing after the cat…people putting themselves in unnecessary loud or potentially stupid situations and the obsession with pizza. Also very little dialogue. I was bored and trying to figure out why I should care…..great review thanks.
I loved this movie. Not gonna say it was the best of the three but it was pretty much what i expected it to be. Did not wanted to expect too much from it otherwise I might’ve gotten a little disappointed but no. Although I would have wished that there were more military scenes and people running on the streets and all but I kind of understand why they didn’t. The new director used the same formula, not letting the audience know more of what the characters know. We did learn a bit more about the aliens, not a lot but it was enough for me.
Rewatch part 2. They realized the noise portion very quickly too. Almost Everyone in that restaurant in the beginning when they’re hiding from them knew it was the sound that was giving them away
Yeah, it's never a good sign for me when I start thinking of how much time is left on the movie. It was mid tier. I was hoping for at least a battle scene or two with the military vs the aliens, but all we get is them blowin up bridges.
The military was informing them from the helicopters. They were flying around saying things like "Don't make sounds" "they can't swim" "evacuate at xyz location"
Lupita deserves an Oscar for this. Chick is HER man. She can act with just her eyes. I enjoyed the fact that it shows that just because the “world is ending” shit doesn’t stop in life (cancer/fear). NYC was also the perfect location for this…
Why let one person's slightly negative opinion of an otherwise widely praised movie make you reconsider watching it ? Watch the movie and form your own opinion.
I actually liked it, and after following the production as much as I could, I knew this wasn't going to be a 100% straight up Sci-Fi Horror film, which honestly, the first two really aren't either. It's PG-13, so you know we aren't going to see people get ripped apart in any hyper-violent scenes. It's about the human element, and the simple things we grasp onto in the face of certain or almost certain doom. I don't think these creatures need anything else to them...keep the "Death Angels" simple. Anything else added to them would make them convoluted and possible silly (Although seeing them chomp down on those eggs within one of the meteorite crash sites, and introducing a much larger "King/Queen Death Angel" was interesting. I've seen some people complain about the origin of the creatures or "Death Angels"...I honestly hope they never explain them or show their origins, it would completely ruin their overall mystique, much like how Prometheus and Alien: Covenant kind of ruined the mystique of the Facehuggers and Xenomorph.
They can do it on an island with no monsters. In part 2 you see a community with lots of kids and homes where you can get it on without risk. But then they accidently brought the aliens to the island.
This is a concept that works for 1-2 Movies, but if you don't really do anything new; add anything extra with the Creatures: their Lore, Characteristics or Types, then it falls flat because the Audience already knows how they work - how to properly Counter them... 😕 They need to add different versions of the Creatures - ones that work in a different way where being quiet doesn't help with them. Like, how interesting would it be if one Type can sense you another way, but is Weak TO Sound? Making noise would Kill, or at least Weaken, it but you run the risk of attracting the main ones! That would add a lot of Tension! 👀 The Emotional parts with the Human Characters are, for the most part, handled fine... They just need to do something new with the Creatures if they wanna keep this Series interesting in my opinion! 🙂
This is so much better than you’re making it out to be. It’s a lot scarier than the other movies, and the story is very beautiful with a perfect ending. I think you wanted this movie to be something else, and were disappointed when it’s not what you wanted. Also do you not know what a panic attack is? You can’t really control yourself. All of your complaints are very dry and are extremely bias because you want the movie to look worse so people agree with you. Very unlike you I think.☠️
…Maxxxine reviews have got some mixed opinions throughout. IGN gave the film 5% but I noticed that they also gave Last Jedi around 9% so I ain’t worried.
ok my question is what can connect to the movie part 1 in this day ONE ?? no particular charcter but the guy in part 1 he gave also hes life to his famliy like lupita did but its seem suicide so whats connect in part 1 how come
movie screening was packed (I had low expectations) and I fell asleep for 30 minutes!!! I woke up to them singing in mime in a bar, and yet I still knew what the (anti)-climax was building up to... other people were also yawning, and because its a "quiet" movie, I could hear them. it was hilarious 😂 nothing happens, then the predictable happens... CRAP
God thank you for getting out what I feel inside. This movie was trash. I also had a couple that were talking, laughing, and making noise the whole time. I also saw it in IMAX and it really wasn’t worth it.
I agree on everything you said, i would kinda like to see what happens with Joseph quins character after this, an i guess the cat as well,, maybe he has a greater purpose, it was odd that he showed up like he did, but how? It was interesting to see what the creatures eat, an how they call other creatures to come eat with them, it was also cool that they had a giant alien, I do wish we could have saw more about them, maybe some changes, They missed a big opportunity, an that could have been having 1 of the characters come across a piece of the astroid that was left over, we could have learned more about where they are from an maybe saw how they reperdiuce that could have been cool.
If we are that picky, why ? Who are they, what do they want? Did another advanced species send them? Otherwise, how did they get here ? I think addressing these unknowns would make a better sequels and give a purpose to future movies
I felt it was just the same movie again but with different characters and location. It was nothing new or interesting. The mystery of the monsters is completely gone. More of a drama than a horror. I was rather bored watching it.
I actually liked them all equally. I guess if you're a jaw jacker who has to talk all the time(you need to see that in the characters as well), and you need conversation for stimulation, then you probably wouldn't like the story line.
First, I’ve always loved your content. When I saw this movie was getting made I just thought why?! It’s like movie DLC which forgive me sounds stupid but it’s sequel after sequel. We only needed the first movie. We don’t need an explanation where these things came from or how they did. That’s what I love about Cloverfield. You are literally thrown into the chaos and have no idea what’s going on. Anyway, have a good day bro and looking forward to what you got releasing next
Nope. The magic scene is cool, and Joseph Quinn is having a panic attack and he cant help it. That explains the "annoying" acting. With your review, it sounds that you didn't appreciate Godzilla Minus One.
wow its crazy that was one of my favorites of last year....and I've explained this multiple times....even if you're having a panic attack its no excuse for not realizing you HAVE to be quiet there. This from someone who has panic attacks. Also, he's still a shitty and unlikeable character because she asked him to go away multiple times and he knew he was putting her life in danger but stayed around anyway just to freak out and put her in danger. Also, liking Godzilla Minus One doesn't make you smart. Your comment did make you seem like an ego inflated jerk though.
Me and my friends just came from watching the movie and were shocked that after all Eddie did , getting the meds and pizza ect .. that he didnt even get a kiss or nothing 😂 What a simp. 11:19
Haven't seen QP Day 1 yet but it sounds like all they had to do was have a Queen like monster like in Aliens to further the lore. That or show some kind of evidence of the creatures origin😎 Aliens is well known for the "Get away from her you BITCH!" Line from Ripley. Its not rocket science. But yeah maybe they chose to be too artsy. Its like comon man! So I hear ya Mike
This movie sucked. The reason the other two movies work is because there’s a deaf girl who can sign to other people who can sign back therefore, you have dialogue the entire movie even though it’s quiet. That was part of the brilliance of these movies and why they worked. Obviously they had interesting characters and characters. We cared about and far superior writing to this lousy prequel with a character who is dying anyways, so why do we give a shit about her? Not only that, but it broke a bunch of rules. I felt the first two movies put in place like the guy from Stranger Things wearing those clompy shoes man. Like as if these aliens couldn’t hear that. But whatever it was shit so I don’t care.. 🤷🏻♂️
I thought it was a well acted, fairly depressing (due to Lupita’s character’s personal circumstances) film, but like you say, kind of retreading old ground with the universes rules or tropes already done to death in the first two films. And a nearly two hour film where the car doesn’t hiss or meow ONCE?!? Get the fuck outta here
Day One should''ve had some news coverage of the asteroids threating earth....or the alien's planet exploding and headed to earth. ...Day One was similar to part 2...just in a small town.
I didn't like the movie. It focused waay to much on the lady and not enough about the story. It didn't tie in anything about the last 2 movies or whatever.
A movie that wanted to focus on both the sincerity of morality and "LOOK AT THE FUNNY CAT RUNNING AROUND AND DOING THIS! LOOK AT IT SLEEP AWWW!", and made the sincere moments feel less sincere.
Honestly I thought this movie was awesome! Loved the spectacle of seeing so many of the aliens invading at once! However I do agree that this franchise needs a massive overhaul on what to do with the scares, the movie felt very repetitive after a while, getting somewhere then having to sneak around for 5 minutes, rinse and repeat. Also while I didn’t dislike the characters I wouldn’t have cared either way if one of them died at any point 😂
I love Joseph Quinn but I have no interest in big budget, Hollywood movies anymore. They ruined it for me. Which sucks because I used to love seeing new movies. Now, some want to entertain, some want to force agendas and some want to do both. I’m not playing the guessing game with these people anymore. You talking about how everyone is useless in the movie aside from the lead actress tells me all I need to know. Another one of those “girl boss in a world full of useless, weak, whiny men movies”. Noted. I’m surprised the ydidn’t hire Viola Davis as the lead actress. 😂 I just listen to what you have to say about these movies. You’re more entertaining anyways 👏
100% best most accurate review so far, super honest & unbiased. Part 1 & 2 far outdid this one on originality & perfect balance of action, suspense, mystery & emotion. Part 3 just over did the exposure of the creatures, & extreme slowness of the emotional parts… just had a completely different feel & drifted too far away from the originals (1 & 2) which were a masterpiece, esp 1. I walked out disappointed & sad, also doubting they can ever recover that original interesting & suspenseful feel from part 1.

The worlds most well behaved and silent cat... very unrealistic and cringe.. cats are pretty fucking vocal especially in a traumatic situation like threatens its wel being and that of those who feed it.. it would have hissed and scowled at the creatures at every given moment... and it would have gone ballistic in the water... come on people,, the cat ruined the realistic impact of the movie
This was the first Quiet Place movie I ever saw, and I probably won't be seeing another one. It was so boring. I knew going into it that they had to be quiet, but holy shit, they could've whispered to each other to talk. I hated having to interpret what they were trying to say.
THIS, I don't go to a movie so I have to watch and figure out what is going on. I want it spoon feed to my brain that takes on 30 second shorts because "long" format 10 minute videos are overwhelming.

@@WeWatchedAMovie Everything you said makes sense... and it is hard to tell... We can probably say this; you would have liked this movie more than you do now, and part II a little less than you do now...
No, it was a drama story, nothing scary about it, totally predictable, laughable characters
My mom and dad fell asleep for their first movie being the third one, I can’t wait to show them the first one or second atleast 💀
I really enjoyed this movie. I didn’t find myself complaining about characters doing stupid things like the first A Quiet Place.
The sewer scene?? the guy under the car?? the crowd of people walking together to get to the water???
Really? I was complaining about the dumb things people did on screen for the whole damn movie. I thought that was happening alot alot more in this movie than the first tbh

@@truththechosen5338*rips ass while walking with the crowd* 😬
I could’ve told you who was gonna be the strong & fabulous character just by looking at the movie shots
@@Man_fay_the_Bru there was the obvious route and there was the unexpected one. They took the obvious one.
Oh and I meant who was going to survive between Lupita and Joseph’s character :p
Okay so it's watchable but not as good as 1&2 but are there any aliens or is it just bunch of people cowering in silence? 🤫
And that’s why it’s called art, because art is subjective.
I get you thoughts I loved this film tho and this is my favorite horror franchise
My personal favorite of the 3 but I think some of your complaints are legit.
a quiet place could have easily be part of the Cloverfield universe what a major missed opportunity
Honestly, if that big fucker showed up it would have saved the movie
Cloverfield is amazing. I only saw 2 and 3 and they're both great. Not sure if the Cloverfield brand would boost ticket sales though as the franchise is doing amazing as its own thing.
Cloverfield is actually good. This? No. I would prefer it to not be a part of the Cloverfield movies, so as to not taint them.
@@asterix1912same I would watch that instead of wasting my time watching a non active movie it good but the cat threw me off their xd
I thought it was good, just not as good as the first 2 were, although, trying not to spoil anything, I did love the "jazz club" scene
Absolutely terrible film, even for these days

Gotta disagree. Though I wish it had done more, and I think it couldn’t because its budget wasn’t large enough…I personally thought it was great. Not nearly as good as the first two, but not even close to being boring.
glad you enjoyed it more than I did!
@@WeWatchedAMovie your expectation from a 67 million dollar movie is like it's budgeted at 200 million dollars 😂. This movie was not as great as it's predecessors but was a good entertainer if not compared to the previous two. 👍
It was mediocre at best
@@Man_fay_the_Bru Stop the 🧢
So you're saying it's not bad but not as good as first two.
I heard john Krasinski and Emily Blunt are going to make another one
I love em both but I really need a new monster here as well
@@WeWatchedAMovie yea I saw another comment on here talking about a Cloverfield crossover and that would be sick as fck
So happy that A Quiet Place: Day One is gonna be such a massive hit as it’s a very solid horror prequel!
No its not 😭🙏
@@TheLegendaryMovieCritic it was awesome! 😎
It was so good!!
Thanks for a normal person's review, I'll definitely come back for your take on anything I'm interested in going forward
Rewatch part 2. They realized the noise portion very quickly too. Almost Everyone in that restaurant in the beginning when they’re hiding from them knew it was the sound that was giving them away
"far less characters to care about" - the only character I was caring about is the cat.
Yeah, it's never a good sign for me when I start thinking of how much time is left on the movie. It was mid tier. I was hoping for at least a battle scene or two with the military vs the aliens, but all we get is them blowin up bridges.
Personally one of my favorites of the year but I still respect your opinion
Thank you. Also how did everyone automatically know to be silent in order to survive?
The military was informing them from the helicopters. They were flying around saying things like "Don't make sounds" "they can't swim" "evacuate at xyz location"
It’s impressive how they got Justin Timberlake to do a British accent the entire movie.
Lupita deserves an Oscar for this. Chick is HER man. She can act with just her eyes. I enjoyed the fact that it shows that just because the “world is ending” shit doesn’t stop in life (cancer/fear). NYC was also the perfect location for this…
I actually heard it has good reviews 😂, now your review makes me not so sure about it now
The way Fish Jelly reviewed it made me go :/ but I liked the movie

I hope you enjoy it more than myself!
As someone who hasn’t seen the prior movies. How do people have babies? Like how do they keep them quiet when there are monsters that prey on sound?
the family uses a soundproof box with an oxygen tank in the prior movie
They can do it on an island with no monsters. In part 2 you see a community with lots of kids and homes where you can get it on without risk. But then they accidently brought the aliens to the island.
@@jonfreeman9682which is why the end of the 3rd one makes no sense, he got on the same boat to go to that island that got attacked by the alien.
The movie was horrible, audiences accept medicore as good because writing and movies suck so bad these days
exactly!
This is a concept that works for 1-2 Movies, but if you don't really do anything new; add anything extra with the Creatures: their Lore, Characteristics or Types, then it falls flat because the Audience already knows how they work - how to properly Counter them... 😕
They need to add different versions of the Creatures - ones that work in a different way where being quiet doesn't help with them. Like, how interesting would it be if one Type can sense you another way, but is Weak TO Sound? Making noise would Kill, or at least Weaken, it but you run the risk of attracting the main ones! That would add a lot of Tension! 👀
The Emotional parts with the Human Characters are, for the most part, handled fine... They just need to do something new with the Creatures if they wanna keep this Series interesting in my opinion! 🙂
I remember chewing on my food very slowly seeing part 2 in theaters
lol it's the worst! some dude was fighting a gummy bag the entire film
Just saw it in theaters with friends (Twice) and it was great! we all Loved it.
A quiet place : not before pizza
I was really pissed by the lack of bodies littering the streets and buildings.
This is discouraging for someone going to see this next Friday…lol.
I loved it. Go see it and enjoy 😊
This movie absolutely sucked
Yeah, the fact that it has 87% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes made me lose faith in reviewers. Zero taste
so why are we lying now
I agree
nah
Cap
Him getting on the boat at the end was pointless. Those are the same people from the second movie who died on the island, or most of them did anyway.
Im excited for it!

ok my question is what can connect to the movie part 1 in this day ONE ?? no particular charcter but the guy in part 1 he gave also hes life to his famliy like lupita did but its seem suicide so whats connect in part 1 how come
movie screening was packed (I had low expectations) and I fell asleep for 30 minutes!!! I woke up to them singing in mime in a bar, and yet I still knew what the (anti)-climax was building up to... other people were also yawning, and because its a "quiet" movie, I could hear them. it was hilarious 😂 nothing happens, then the predictable happens... CRAP
Are you a fan of Michael bay films outside of transformers sequals and Pearl Harbor.
God thank you for getting out what I feel inside. This movie was trash. I also had a couple that were talking, laughing, and making noise the whole time. I also saw it in IMAX and it really wasn’t worth it.
This movie definitely wasn’t the cat’s meow
Completely disagree about Lupita''s character...The main character was absolutely unlikable throughout the whole thing. JQ's character made no sense..
Idk about her having common sense in the beginning stepping on glass and running after the cat making noise to kill everyone lmao
I agree on everything you said, i would kinda like to see what happens with Joseph quins character after this, an i guess the cat as well,, maybe he has a greater purpose,
it was odd that he showed up like he did, but how?
It was interesting to see what the creatures eat, an how they call other creatures to come eat with them, it was also cool that they had a giant alien,
I do wish we could have saw more about them, maybe some changes,
They missed a big opportunity, an that could have been having 1 of the characters come across a piece of the astroid that was left over, we could have learned more about where they are from an maybe saw how they reperdiuce that could have been cool.
If we are that picky, why ? Who are they, what do they want? Did another advanced species send them?
Otherwise, how did they get here ?
I think addressing these unknowns would make a better sequels and give a purpose to future movies
They got here on asteroids as was already explained
Off topic, but has anyone seen Presumed Innocent on Apple with Jake Gyllenhaal? Haven’t watched it but looks alright
Its better than the 1st omen
Different genre. But yeah that was really really bad.
Damn, this is the only timeI have to disagree with one of your reviews. I thought the movie was awesome!!!
So you're saying it does not suck? But is it as good as 1&2 which I think is worth a 🎫
Me and my friends just came from watching the movie and were shocked that after all Eddie did , getting the meds and pizza ect .. that he didnt even get a kiss or nothing 😂
What a simp. 11:19
I thought the whole time he was following her around was to steal the cat.
It morphed into a teen girl movie. Hollywood just cannot have a teen boy who is alpha
This movie was condensed ass.
I liked this movie a lot
How do you follow the tension of trying to deliver a baby in that environment?
Answer - you don't
I liked it but it's by far my least favorite of the three...not rewatchable
Its not her dad's music. Its Nina Simone :)
A BORING PLACE
I love Joseph Quinn but I have no interest in big budget, Hollywood movies anymore. They ruined it for me. Which sucks because I used to love seeing new movies. Now, some want to entertain, some want to force agendas and some want to do both. I’m not playing the guessing game with these people anymore. You talking about how everyone is useless in the movie aside from the lead actress tells me all I need to know. Another one of those “girl boss in a world full of useless, weak, whiny men movies”. Noted. I’m surprised the ydidn’t hire Viola Davis as the lead actress. 😂
I just listen to what you have to say about these movies. You’re more entertaining anyways 👏
Def an artsy croissant. Would've loved to see a worldwide battle with humanities militarys V the overly dramatic and emotional men.
It is not about the nature monsters .. they are not scary because of the bad writing ..
