    The Granny Square is one of my favorite things to crochet but this is the first time I have seen the two types combined. I really love 💕 it and can hardly wait to get started with a project incorporating this square. Thank you for a great tutorial.

    Great idea, it worked out well I had to try it right away. I am reminded of Esther Dykstra's videos when she says "Just keep your wits about you." It would be easy to goof up if you aren't paying attention.

    Lovely pattern, I'm making squares for a grandbaby blanket. What are people's preferred way of laying them out and what join did you use? I want to put a border on each of my multicoloured squares with a cream colour, then either JAYG, if that will work, or some other option but I'm not sure if that will work with the sides being different patterns...?

    Love this square! But my solid side is getting bigger than my traditional side. Is there a diagram/chart/stitch count?

    • @amcar930
      @amcar930 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having the same problem, it's the same number of stitches but I can't get it to be square even after blocking

    • @amcar930
      @amcar930 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I figured out how to fix it, chain 2 between granny clusters. At the end when you do a border, count the chain 2 as 1. You end up with the correct amount of stitches and the solid side isn't rippled from being bigger

    • @Saghirah
      @Saghirah 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm having this issue as well, I'm trying to tighten my tension on the solid side and loosen it up a bit on the granny side which works a little and then blocking them with a spritz of water has helped as well.

      Is your tension a bit tight? Hope you manage to sort it out. 👍

    • @RosyPosy1970
      @RosyPosy1970 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Coleen, I’ve just completed my first 50-50 granny and the solid side is slightly looser than the traditional side too - not by much, but noticeable. I think this is because when I do a full traditional granny square I usually pull the working yarn quite tightly between clusters to stop the square being too baggy, which could well be counterproductive when half the square is solid. Will try again this evening and not pull so tightly on the traditional side this time 🙂
