I can't believe she waited a full day and a half before getting the bunny in to the vet.. then again, my experience with Stasis in rabbits comes from my friend's bunny, who would basically rather die than EVER miss a meal. So when I went in to give him his breakfast and he didn't come charging out at me, I honestly immediately thought he was already dead. I had a feeling in my gut that he was laying dead in the room, because NOTHING stopped this rabbit from getting his breakfast. I eventually found him hiding under the furniture, and managed to get him to the vet.. he had early stage stasis caused by a spur on one of his teeth that was making him not able to chew properly and causing pain. Quick bit of dental care and he was right as rain, and will still basically attempt to tackle you to the ground to get his breakfast... But don't you DARE try and give him a banana... he HATES bananas.
little lop seems so chill it might've taken a day for her to notice the food and hay level hadn't dropped at all, and that bunny was feeling sick rather then perpetually sulky (bunnies are good actors, it happens)
My bunny had an episode where he wouldn't eat, was drinking a lot of water, the vet was closed so I had to wait several hours and he started eating again so Idk what was up with him, it hasn't happened again. He LOVES bananas lol
Hearing Dr. Poli talk about the death of his dog and then the thought of losing Diesel, had me tearing up. I hate to see anyone lose their pet.🐕🦺🥰💗💗 Oh and the rabbit health scare made my heart sink. I’m so happy that the rabbit pulled through and is doing really good.🐇 🥰💗💗
My 2 year old Holland lop developed GI stasis a few weeks back. After following an online suggestion of giving him pineapple juice and belly massages, he lived! I couldn’t believe it actually worked. Thankfully I also think the symptoms were caught early enough he pulled through.
I'll have to look that up! I have Critical Care, but anything that will help is wonderful. How did you know he was in stasis? I'm so worried that I'll miss it....
@@marcificht4013 I immediately noticed he was acting lethargic and didn’t want to eat, drink or come out of his cage. I checked his litter box and saw he was pooping irregularly. They were small clusters and sometimes soft instead of their normal size and shape. I looked up his symptoms online and I found that it was most likely GI stasis. Several TH-cam videos and google suggested pineapple juice and belly massages, I’m so grateful it worked. The quality of food is much better now and I’ve reduced his veggie intake plus started giving him Sherwood digestive support tablets. Hope this helps!

That's one way I'm pretty sure they are okay because they go CrAzY for them.
The way they pronounced Dachshund made me smile. It's a german word. The first part means badger and the second one dog. Here the pronunciation sounds more like "Ducks-Hoond" , but usually we call them Dackel. (Sounds like "Duckle")
Dr. Kate thank you so much for saving poncho I have four bunnies in my own and thank God all of them are extremely healthy I've never had a problem with them never had to take him to the vet their healthy bunnies I feed them well take great care of them and they eat healthy
I had four different bunnies in the last 20 years. My lop-eared boy was SSSOOOOO SMART, and his personality was amazing! I called him my ZEN BUNNY. He loved having his head pet - but not the rest of him. He would lay down by my knee, as I sat on the floor, with his head just within my reach, but nothing else. He was so sensitive to peoples' energy. Loved all my fur friends! I miss them very very much!!
I almost lost my lil chihuahua to parvo. He was almost dead before he actually recovered. I had to beg my parents to take him to the vet and help me pay for it. I did what the vet said and after a few weeks he started to recover. Oddly enough he went temporarily blind after that. Eventually he recovered completely. I dont have him anymore he was taken from my yard a while back but he was like my baby. Ive also had to foster lambs and hand raise them. Most of the ones that came to me were very very sick. They didnt make it and died in my arms. But I tried to nurse them. One of them died of old age. Two died of bloat. As far as I know there was air trapped in their stomachs causing them to distend and the only way I knew to fix it was to make a small hole in the abdomen and put a tube in it to let out the air. Unfortunately death by infection was too great. We didnt have an experienced vet to do the procedure so they ended up passing away. It broke my heart. I love animals so it hurts sooo bad to see them suffer and pass away.
We think our dog might of had parvo when she was still a pup..she was sick, wasn’t eating or drinking, it was very bad and we were afraid she’d die. We never saw a vet for it sadly, but eventually she started drinking which was the most important thing and then she started eating again. She may be the most timid and scared little pup i’ve ever met but she’s a fighter!
I lost a Hungarian Visla cross puppy to parvo his name was Teddy and he was unable to walk the vets had to put him down because he was deteriorating so quickly that they couldn’t save him my heart was shattered
It's very important for pet owners to find a vet who understands the bond we have with our pets, whether that bond be strong or extremely strong. When I got my childhood dog, our first three vets didn't care one bit about animals, even less so about the concept of pets. To them an animal was either valuable for it provided meat or milk or it wasn't valuable and so was best euthanized even if otherwise healthy. I was the only client with a pet to them, needless to say, I was horrified when they told me after the second visit for his vaccines : "he has a slight heart murmur, best we kill him off right away instead of wasted money on vaccines for a sick dog." Not only did I change veterinary clinic before the visit was even over, walking the 8 km with my puppy in my arms to that other practice, to prove to my parents, I was serious, but my tiny poodle lived healthy for 14 years, and except on vet examination, it was impossible to tell he had a heart murmur, so active and lively he was right until 3 months before he died, and not of a heart problem, may I add. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the other vets could do their jobs, but they simply were not interested in animals, and had no idea about there being a bond and were of the mind that animals do not count, so that we had a right to kill them if they were of no use or pleasure to us anymore. So they were like some doctors to humans who do not understand that when their patients are terminally ill or something like that, the entire family and circle of friends suffer too for them. As much as it cost me emotionally ad psychologically, I did the right thing when my dog started to suffer, deteriorated rapidly and could not recover but only get worse so for another day at max. Yet, I'm almost certain that had I not found that second clinic, with a caring vet, who knew about pets, I'd not have been able to do it, for I'd have been under the impression that the vets were not trying to save him, whereas I knew that this vet would have done everything humanly possible, and that if he was telling me, he could not help my dog, he could only keep him away from me over night, so that I would not see him passing away but that he'd suffer, it was the truth and I had to be there for my dog and go through that with him and for him.
@@kendralladean3919 Thank you, sorry if you felt that was long, I was perhaps a bit too emotional, but it is so important that vets care about animals and respect the bound we have with them, I wanted to thank the ones who did just that and encourage vet students to think about this too.
Oh wow. I’m so sorry that happened to your dog and you both. That is some serious bad luck to encounter such horrible vets. I’ve had guinea pigs for nearly all my life so far and the vets have always been very kind, knowing that even our smallest animals are very important to their humans. I plan on being a vet myself because of that, no matter the animal, people can always develop a special bond with them and it’s important for vets to understand that and to work with that.
@@lavishlyvice Thank you for these kind words and for caring for animals! I hope your guinea pigs are all doing well and I'm sure you will become a great vet too. I guess the main vet at that clinic probably did not want to have another vet steal the show by caring to the well-being of his patients and thus picked vets like himself. You would have expected a vet clinic within a city full of pets to care for pets rather than to chose to only "care" for animals for the meat trade. I wish they had simply told me from the start that they did not like pets. Anyway, every pet owner has moved away from them by now and so have most of the farmers too, as people started to wonder from their experience with their own pets, how could these three be treating farm animals and so hesitated buying milk products at the market when the farmer used that vet trio. A pity though, as they were down the road from me, so it felt reassuring to have a veterinary clinic so close, should an emergency ever arise.

I had to put one of my bunnies to sleep 2 weeks ago (december 7th). She stopped eating so after the first visit to the vet I fed her recovery for a day but she ended up probably having a tumor. I'm still not 100% if that was the case or if it was something else but she was in such bad shape and pain that any anesthetic or operation would have probably been fatal, so unfortunately we decided it was best to put her to sleep. So happy this little guy made it yet so sad again mine didn't 😭.
her boyfriend getting her a rabbit when she had no idea, did not want one, and had no clue how to care for it is so irresponsible. animals aren't toys or objects. there's a reason why so many animals are in shelters that were rejected birthday and christmas gifts, and many rabbits from easter.

So glad Diesel is ok. I've been on the receiving end of bad news on April 22, 2021. It was the worst day of my life when I lost my Sasha. I don't think I will ever get over it.💔😭
Make sure you do your research. I have two and I had NO IDEA how much work they could be. However...I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! Having then neutered/ spayed costs around $300 including meds, so consider getting a rescue bunny that is already altered. I have one of each...a rescue and one that I bought from a breeder. They are house rabbits!
I love this show so much And I do cry at certain episodes, but this episode with the vet and his puppy who has balance issues and how sensitive he was when he was talking about his doggie that passed away I’m still crying as I’m texting this there is no other love between an animal to human they love us unconditionally
The rabbit parents of poncho are lucky he’s alive at all. He had gut stasis and that can be quickly fatal to rabbits. Gi stasis can claim the life of a rabbit in as little as 12 hours to a day. So the fact that he wasn’t seen by the vet till a day and a half later and was still alive is a miracle in itself. And the fact that the vet was able to treat this prolonged stasis successfully is even more a miracle. I hope the vet gives Poncho’s parents some rabbit care literature to read and take home w them so they have more knowledge and are better educated on caring for their rabbit. They seem to love him dearly, I just think they need to be a lot more informed about rabbits. They need guidance and to put in the time to learn about their rabbit’s needs, the risks, and the health dangers to look out for. Responsible rabbit parents know that gi is common and a huge and deadly threat to the life of any rabbit. You could literally lose your rabbit in less than a day to gi stasis, it’s that bad so you have to act quick and not wait esp if your rabbit hasn’t been eating or pooping for 12 hours. They’ve had him for 3 yrs so they really need to do better and educate themselves on rabbit care, there’s no excuse. Gi stasis in rabbits is the number one thing every rabbit parent has to watch out for. It’s serious and unfortunately common.
Seeing the fur get everywhere reminds me that I was wearing a black jacket, next moment it's covered in fur from me cuddling and patting our Rabbit. All my black jacket was pretty much covered in fur. It was hard to get them all off. Hahaha. It's been months and I still miss that Rabbit that thought he was a cat and a dog. I hope I meet another Rabbit that has this weird personality, yet sweet and loving furball.

I have just started A - Level sciences with the hope of studying veterinary medicine one day. The guys and girls on this programme are so inspiring. One day, I’d love to help animals as they do.
I can completely empathize with Diesel. I had a spine/spinal cord injury about 10 years ago and while we're not sure if it was related or not, it came on shortly after my injury. I developed something called benign positional vertigo and it is exactly like what Sheik endures. My eyes would flicker, the room seem tilted, if I could have walked at the time there is no way it'd have been in a straight line. It is absolutely nauseating. Poor puppy. Clearly Diesel is a much loved family member. The bond is clearly understood by Dr. Poli now. It's sad to see.
rabbits, like cats, get hairballs from self grooming. Unfortunately, they can't barf them up like cats do. Food they can go without for a number of days, but they need water intake. Water helps move the trapped vegetable matter out of the hairball, ergo shrinking it in size, and hopefully small enough they can start passing it. I raised Angora rabbits for many years and it was something we always watched for. Not just eating up their allotted measure of pellets but also what was passing out the other end. We'd actually fast the rabbits one day a week, only giving them a tiny bit of raw broccoli, apple or banana, a handful of straw (great fiber!) and free access to water. If caught in time, it's actually easy to treat and get them over.

My bunny loves bananas
My bunny had an episode where he wouldn't eat, was drinking a lot of water, the vet was closed so I had to wait several hours and he started eating again so Idk what was up with him, it hasn't happened again. He LOVES bananas lol
Seeing a vet dealing with a sick animal is heartbreaking Dr Poli I wish you comfort you are a great human
Every time I see pets on this show, I always pray that they are ok.
I am so sorry Dr. G i know exactly how you feel.
Dr Gerardo... crying. Now I am sobbing. So sad when you lose your furbabies. And now his other baby??? (Only halfway through episode)
Omg that was scary, way to save sweet bunny’s life!!! 💙💙💙
Hearing Dr. Poli talk about the death of his dog and then the thought of losing Diesel, had me tearing up. I hate to see anyone lose their pet.🐕🦺🥰💗💗
Oh and the rabbit health scare made my heart sink.
@@alexab.c.809 SHERWOOD is AMAZING!! That's the pellets they get and I give them the digestive and urinary support tablets, too! The only veggies mine eat are lettuce and that's not daily. Okay, I feel better now. I have a special treat that they love...I give them three every morning (they are tiny) and three before bed. That's one way I'm pretty sure they are okay because they go CrAzY for them.
these are the only people i would trust with my bunny JUST SAYING
yes! i trust no one but im usa *sad face*
@@petsavygamer5770 yeah, me too.
Bunnies are sooooo sensitive mine passed away a couple months ago it’s so hard to process.
With any animal. The best
Exactly but I literally live on the other side of the world (the netherlands) so... yeah
You don't take them for health checks?
I had four different bunnies in the last 20 years. My lop-eared boy was SSSOOOOO SMART, and his personality was amazing! I called him my ZEN BUNNY. He loved having his head pet - but not the rest of him. He would lay down by my knee, as I sat on the floor, with his head just within my reach, but nothing else. He was so sensitive to peoples' energy. Loved all my fur friends! I miss them very very much!!
Finally one about a bunny!!
There was one with a bunny less than a week ago though
Edit: Nevermind that was vet on the hill
Diesel leaning to one side reminds me of the time I got vertigo. Hope he feels better soon!
That was long
And I'm very sorry about you and your dog
The Vets make such a sweet couple... My heart breaks for him & his puppy....
This show is one my favorites
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 Merry Christmas!
Happy Christmas. Grammy Bear and wishing U and your family peace. And. Good Health! 💞💞💕💕💜💜💙💙💑💑🙏🙏🙏🙏🏿🙏🏿👨❤️👨🐺🐩
Love seeing the twins..they are truly a big blessing to all the animals they treat.
Holding a bunny on its back like that could put it into shock
Awwwwww Deisel and Poncho are soooooooooo cute my heart is melting
OMG...crying SO HARD right now over Poncho...I have two bunnies and this is breaking my heart. I'm at the point of them leaving him overnight on an IV drip and I'm almost afraid to keep watching since two other episodes with bunnies both had the bunny die...😭
OTG....yaaaay, Poncho! But....Dr. Kate? That's not how you hold a bunny...but you saved his life, so I guess that is what's important!!! So thankful he's alive!
That was one relaxed doxie during and after the acupuncture.
Laser acupuncture? What sorcery is this??
We love Dr Kate Adams
i have been wanting the be a vet for around 9 years now and have never stopped at all and i just watch these all night and i love seeing then i start writing down notes i want to be a great vet nurse when i am older
Pets are family, it hurts my heart when they’re sick. Idk what i’ll do without my families dog Kaleb 😢😞
Yay, Poncho made it! Go bunny 🐇🐰
13:07 poor poor diesel i feel so bad him as vet you never want to see your own dog in pain. i am gald diesel is going to be ok. i am so gald poncho is doing much better.
poor little bunny’s nose wasn’t even twitching. when he got so much better - it was so wonderful to see him move. glad doggie was better, too :) 🐰 🐕🦺🌷
I miss my lop bunny. He was a rescue, he lived to be about 12.
Thats a good age for a lop bunny. I think that he would have had an amazing life with you.
@@leaving.. I miss him. His name was Frankie flops a lot
That is a cute nickname. I had two guinea pigs called patch and rosie. They died of an upper respiratory infection
This episode really pulled at my heart. Dr. Alex and Dr. Gerardo make a cute couple. I'm so happy for them. Poncho and Diesel had me crying so much. I'm ecstatically happy they are ok. Poncho is a little fighter, so cute. Diesel is a senior dog. Things don't always go in the right direction. But Diesel will need more TLC. Which Dr. Gerardo already gives. Just cherish every moment wit Diesel and your going to be ok. It's tough to lose a beloved pet that is part of you, a part of you.
Thankgod the bunny and dog turned out a good result brought tears to me watching both story’s unfold best vets ever and nurses as well
I love Dr. Kate, she has such a beautiful endearing spirit. Everyone there is so wonderful but she seems like such a kind person. Thank you Dr. Kate! Oh, and she’s very very beautiful!💕💕🧚🧚💕💕
I can't help it. Dr. Scott is such a hunk, I miss him
I have a nine year old border collie and my mom and I love her so much! We’ve had her since she was a puppy.
Alex and Gerardo make such a wonderful couple!
I’m so glad I have a 24 hour vet close to my house if my rabbit ever got that sick I would be devistated
Poncho is so cute 🤣
I had this acupuncture technique in addition to Physical Therapy for a Tailbone injury. I loved it!!
Poor Diesel 😭🥺
These are amazing vet's!
her boyfriend getting her a rabbit when she had no idea, did not want one, and had no clue how to care for it is so irresponsible. animals aren't toys or objects. there's a reason why so many animals are in shelters that were rejected birthday and christmas gifts, and many rabbits from easter.
Good point
Is it me...Or the intro Makes My day Alot :)
The first doctor her eyes are ooooooooooooo pretty
When I grow up I just wanna be like you guys I love how you guys save animals you to make I can intro you guys to make our world a better place and it’s just love your videos it’s just the best love you all from Zoha
The doctors are so gentle love Dr Kate
Dr G, it's so hard to lose a pet. We lost Sassie, our seventeen year old angel last Tuesday. Keep Sheik's memory alive and never let it go.
So glad Diesel is ok. I've been on the receiving end of bad news on April 22, 2021. It was the worst day of my life when I lost my Sasha. I don't think I will ever get over it.💔😭
Hi Bondi vet I love your videos so much and I love that you're showing Perth zoo., because I'm from Perth and I love that zoo so much.
Poncho makes me want a rabbit! So precious!
They are so kind😞😍🤩😄😃
✰am i the only one that thinks that this show is amazing✰❤︎
No...no you're not i love this😁👌🏻

I’m not going to lie I can’t stop watching this video ❤
I love this show! I'm so happy Poncho recovered 🥰🐰
My mum rehomed my bunny but watching your channel with all these animals recovering just makes me so happy 🙂
I love this show so much And I do cry at certain episodes, but this episode with the vet and his puppy who has balance issues and how sensitive he was when he was talking about his doggie that passed away I’m still crying as I’m texting this there is no other love between an animal to human they love us unconditionally
They work well together
Hii Bondi Vet :)
When i started watching this i found out what i wanna be one day
I love your videos❤️
Livias little tongue tho!🥺 and i love this show! It inspires me so much bc i wanna be a vet! ty:]
I hope you pursue your dreams to become a vet.
We love you Bondi vet show
My heart ached for Dr. Gerardo ☹️😢
can confirm from being dehydrated, lack of fluids can in fact cause you to block up, guess that goes for any living thing with a digestive tract.
Poor puppy hes so beautiful
I have Vestibular disease. I
fall a lot.
I love this show from USA
I have 4 rescue cats. They are my world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg.. I sooo wanna hold and cuddle poncho 😍😍😍 that cute cuddly furry ball is an actual bundle of joy 💓💓💓 I just loveeee rabbits 👼
I am in love with the show the compassion the love they have for animals is just awesome!
There are needed and hoping sweet buns in any shelter, please look for them the one, you conncet with there. They waiting for a new home. ❤🙏💯 I been through all losing bunnies etc and have 4 wonderful bunnies and free roam too and yet
never could let been to have bunnies, there such smart and so misunderstood pets ever...they desvere more than that. Like any pets do too
what an emotional episode!! Now that I am relieved for Poncho's and Diesel's recoveries...can I ask that someone out there invents a silent hair trimmer for animals? So that they can avoid a bit of stress while at the vet.
I Love the show but my grandson had to go out of town and I’m watching his cat and apparently he loves this show too he set in the chair watching.
U mean the cat watches the show too,!? 🤗🤗🐈
I know my grammar isn’t the best😁
Your grammar is great Sandra. My cat loves this show too. Not so much the ads ha ha. If something goes off the screen she looks behind the iPad for it.
I love the channel. First time I have seen it.
Best Vets!
I have just started A - Level sciences with the hope of studying veterinary medicine one day. The guys and girls on this programme are so inspiring. One day, I’d love to help animals as they do.
this episode was heartbreaking and eye opening. thank you
The monkeys look like they have mohawks🥰
super adorable lol
The dachshund is so cute 🥰
