    Thanks for the video. I love seeing stories like this about these cars being unearthed and brought out from a long hibernation.
    I know that some people will wonder why you seem to stumble upon so many of these cars. I think there is a degree of luck but one should also consider that when you are in business or a hobby, you tend to attract people and experiences that feed your need. The guy that gets a lot of girls often gets them without trying. The guy that invests in stocks sometimes stumbles into huge winners. Sometimes that is just the way it works. Your eyes are more open to opportunities than the casual car guy.
    Good for you, man.

  • @andrewhigdon8346
    @andrewhigdon8346 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man I hope he just cleans it up and preserves it, as if it were still new and being maintained. That is, no touch up paint, no replacing the incorrect upper radiator hose, no real repairs, unless the part would just deteriorate without proper attention. Again, the same things an owner would do as MAINTENANCE, not a restoration. And what an incredible time capsule it is too, and the lack of “critter” damage is incredible. No rats, no bugs, no torn up upholstery from said varmints, no sun damage, no dry rot, no condensation damage to speak of. Even the slight rust present seems to have occurred before storage. Has anyone ever seen such pristine sail pillars? Maybe under the vinyl it’s a different story, but no matter, I didn’t even see a bubble under the vinyl, no trim having moved from bulging metal, nothing. So looks like a 318, power brakes and steering, console and buckets, vinyl roof, probably an open highway gear, sport wheel covers, but really only those few options, I didn’t see an FM radio but couldn’t tell. Could anyone make out the mileage? Phenomenal. Yeah I know this sounds like a stretch, but if you think about with real reverence, and respect for times gone by, that machine is a true National Treasure. A relic and a trophy and a working symbol of America’s beauty and passion, perseverance, and pride. You don’t paint a car like that or apply that vinyl roof in some half-hazard way and then have it last some 52 years with nary a quality control issue to speak of. And remember when this was made; during one of America’s most tumultuous and polarized times, yet the factory assembly line went right on about their business with pride, and those parts were made to last. Sure, some of its longevity may have been sheer luck, with the car just happening to have been very well cared for before it was stored, where it is even more astonishing to have remained in the condition it is in. Even the dirt on the vinyl interior would normally deteriorate whatever it was on, with salts and acids and even slight moisture, yet enough to prevent dry cracking, but not too much to cause rot. Unreal. Wash it, clean underneath, maybe clear coat it so it looks the same, underneath, but preserved, and maybe a nice coat of wax, bumper polish, soak the tires in Armorall(that’s a joke, I think that stuff destroys interiors), and some StaBil in the gas tank after maybe a clean removal of all of the crap in the tank. Carb rebuild, maybe an OEM tailpipe, but even that, if done the way it would have been done in say, 1980, a JC Whitney generic tailpipe would be fine, period correct. Awesome. Priceless. I know there are a few others like that, eve more mint, bu they’ve all been touched. This one seems to have avoided such molestation. Drive it though, but only at 4am, dry weather, and to get late night groceries. No horsing around with the poor 318, it’s not asking for it, like say a 440 would be begging for some smoke time. And just when you thought there was no more magic out there, here you go. As far as I’m concerned, it seems the best way to try to figure out what could be out there is by production numbers versus what is known to exist, and check those off, while seeking out the rest of the list. Totaled cars aren’t necessarily junked. But when you find more than a handful of VIN mismatch parts on one car, but the parts are mostly from the same donor car, one can mark that down as “presumed lost”. So now I need to find a an unmolested 1968 Country Squire in Maroon, 428, power everything, no roof rack, then y’all can lower me into the worm food manufacturing facility. Pine box, worms don’t like going through oak and silk. They’re good enough to shit us out and into our grandchildren’s tomatoes and lettuce, so why add wasteful appointments to your new long term digs? Get it? Digs?! Yeah!! This Charger lives on. So will we all, but not lookin so pretty as this beauty.
