    Also: I Put a Spell On You by Annie Lennox. It was done just a few years ago, but her voice has turned out to be just as amazing as it was back in 1984.

  • @eljanrimsa5843
    @eljanrimsa5843 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's definitely their song. It was their ticket to fame and success in the music business. They famously made it with two synthesizers (that's why you hear 2 different songs), one of which had an interestingly sounding malfunction, in their own DIY studio after trying unsuccessfully for 7 years and not having enough money to afford separate apartments after they split up romantically.

  • @adamdodgshon638
    @adamdodgshon638 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah. Eurythmics are amazing. Annie’s voice is stellar. They made progressively more rock style albums with more guitar so their earlier albums are where you find this synth sound the most. Those albums are called In The Garden (Never Gonna Cry Again is a good song from that one), Sweet Dreams (I prefer the album tracks like The Walk or This City Never Sleeps), Touch (Here Comes The Rain Again, Paint A Rumour), then on Be Yourself Tonight they started that more guitar-based sound but there’s still plenty of good synth tracks (Conditioned Soul, It’s Alright Baby’s Coning Back) and then I would skip to the Savage album. Songs like Beethoven (I Love To Listen To), Savage and I Need You, featuring just Annie and an acoustic guitar, are awesome.

    Hello! Great reaction. The Eurythmics got inducted into the Rock &:Roll Hall of Fame last weekend. And the Songwriter's Hall of Fame a couple of months ago. How about another reaction? I guess they do have a "sound", but each song is different enough that a whole album is fun to put on and hear to the end. And different from album to album. And then there is Annie's solo career. 80 mollion albums sold. Dave Stewart (Eurythmucs) wrote a fun song that Tom Petty recorded, called Don't Come Around Here No More.. You'll LOvE the video

    If you liked that song's SOUND in particular, then go check out the Sweet Dreams ALBUM. 10 songs, all killer, no filler. Both the singing and the programming on this longplayer are insane.
    From all the early synth bands, eurythmics had the best bass drum machine, and they really knew how to make it sound "badass". Highly recommended: eurythmics' cover of the Sam And Dave classic "Wrap It Up", which almost became the follow-up to "Sweet Dreams", but was axed for a brand-new composition "Who's That Girl", to instigate further interest in those then "weird newcomers".
    I'm glad for you you found them. Enjoy their catalog. A lot of crazy stuff inthere.

    😂🤣😂 YOU on listening to Marilyn Manson: "I went through a phase, stop judging me"!😆 It's all good Biz... we've all had "phases" (and some moments of temporary insanity!🤪)!!
    Now before I even get into your reaction, I'll give my take on this song (however, the music video does actually support what I've always thought😉). Keep in mind, I was only 12 when this was released and had never seen the video but, I understood and totally agreed with the message!!😊
    1.) It's basically dissing stereotypes and the music industry. They felt the industry (and mainstream culture) was ruining the arts and the purpose behind it. EXAMPLE: The cows, always lurking behind them in the vid, is symbolic for them being cash cows for the labels.
    2.) There's also the gender-bending theme thrown in with Annie Lennox wearing a suit and her hair chopped short.
    3.) Also, the scene where Stewart is playing the Cello in the wide open field is symbolic (and powerful imo!!) of the release, freedom and peace music is for the artists yet, that cash cow is still lurking behind them! Basically the elite using and even exploiting for their personal gain.🙄 The people creating all the music don't matter at all. Sadly, in this twisted world, it's only the cash and status it provides that seems to matter to some people...
    4.) It's pronounced: "Your-rythmics".😉🤗
    5.) I HAVE to squeeze this plug in😁.... The sentiment behind this one is the same in "HUNGER STRIKE" by Temple of The Dog (it's Cris Cornell of Soundgarden and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam TOGETHER, and is where Pearl Jam was "born"!😉) You REALLY, REALLY NEED TO DO "HUNGER STRIKE" .... Chris and Eddie's voices together, will blow your freaking mind🤯 and possibly even give you goosebumps!! NO JOKE!!!🤗
    K, you get the gist so I'll shut up now! Lol!!😅 Anyway, great freaking choice and great reaction as ALWAYS!!👏👏👏 You rock and see ya on the next one fam!😎❤

    My first awareness of this song was riding with my totally conservative vanilla and not into pop let alone alternative music mom when this came on the radio I guess on an easy listening station heh. And 40 years later I can still hear the world-weary exasperation in her voce as she muttered to herself "that's for sure..." I doubt she had any idea I was listening and would no doubt have been horrified that my little mind concluded this was important insights into the human condition that I needed to memorize immediately lol.

    The music video is superior ... depicting the music industry where everybody is looking for a record deal or fame (Gold discs on the wall in the video)... in the process of using, abusing, being used, abused .. and being treated like a piece of meat (cows in the video).

    YOU-rith-micks. That “Eu” in their name comes from a Greek prefix meaning “good”. So they’re the Good Rythmics.
    Check out Missionary Man. And they do a duet with Aretha Franklin in Sisters Are Doin’ it for Themselves.

    This came out in the early 80s and was written by them so it is most definitely not mansons song. This is the original and will always be the best. This and here comes the rain again were the soundtrack of my childhood and even at 10 I was transfixed by Annie. Such a strong original look. And her eyes are to die for. Personally I hate what manson did to this masterpiece.
